  Is MyBlaster USB compatible?
Posted by: Endoc - 2005-08-05, 01:12 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (6)

I am trying to determine the best method for remote control capabilities with the GB-PVR and MediaMVP to control a satelite receiver. Can anyone confirm wether the MyBlaster USB (IR Blaster) is compatible with the GB-PVR? I've read a few strings in the forum that mention some problems with MyBlaster, but the Chanel Changer setup has the option a MyBlaster IR plugin.

Is anyone using this successfully?

  Object Reference
Posted by: jwells - 2005-08-05, 12:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I downloaded and installed the latest GBPVR and I'm getting the 'Object Reference error' when I try to do Live TV on the pc. When I switch to the 350 output it pauses then goes back to the main screen. The same thing happens when I try live tv on the mvp. I've done a clean install, did a removal, deleted the GBPVR dir then rebooted, then did an install and configuation. Did this a few times. Also, I did a complete reinstall of the 350 and mvp drivers.

Does anyone know where I should start looking for the problem?

Any way to force Overlay mode on a Radeon?
Posted by: Zod - 2005-08-04, 11:42 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

I have a Gigabyte Radeon 9250. While setting it up with multiple displays, I was able to set either the primary or secondary display to display "overlay" mode video. However, after I finished setting the system up and disconnected the VGA monitor, all overlay mode options became disabled...I cannot set any overlay options when the only display is the TV-Out display. Does anyone known how to enable overlay video when the only display is TV-Out?

The benefit of overlay is that it seems to bypass most of the graphics adapter processing and filters, resulting in an image much sharper and better saturated, very close to broadcast quality. (I find the non-overlay output to be much softer and desaturated, compared to the broadcast signal). Also, the overlay output does not seem to lose sync with the audio. If I'm watching Live TV in non-overlay mode, the video and audio quickly lose sync.

ATI Theater 550 Live TV locking up system
Posted by: mbdundee - 2005-08-04, 11:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have an ATI Theater 550 (VisionTek) installed on an XP/SP2 system with an AMD 2600+, 1.5GB of memory and a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card.
I am hooked up to the S-Video input on the 550 Dongle. When I start up Live TV, it might run for a couple of minutes, maybe only seconds before it totally locks up the system and the sound is a high pitched screech.
I have searched the forum and moved the Buffer directory off of the C: drive, I have verified that I have plenty of virtual memory, in fact doubled it. I have tried to change many of the settings with no luck. The program that comes with the card will play Live TV with no problem, but the picture quality is not nearly as good as GB. I can also get Media Portal to work, but again, the picture quality and response time is not as good.
Thanks for any help provided.

  Audio CD's
Posted by: AustinTX - 2005-08-04, 10:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hopefully not too much of a newbie question, but is there a way to have an "Audo CD" main menu function similiar to the "DVD" menu function to allow playing music CD's through the GBPVR interface rather than using Windows Media Player? I tried all the available music-related GBPVR plugins but they seemed aimed at mp3's and not CD's.

Searched, Read, Still Confused RE: Closed Captions
Posted by: Pilot - 2005-08-04, 08:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I'm running GBPVR with a PVR150MCE and MediaMVP on a WindowsXP home system. The wife "must have" Closed Captioning on recorded shows so that we can watch them over the unruly children that we have. Can my configuration display CC? If not, are their any options (external software recorders, etc.) that can allow it? Is the MediaMVP the problem or the PVR150MCE?

I have gotten around this problem before with DVDs by encoding permanent subtitles. Is there a way to do something similar with an external software recorder and then just playing the file through GBPVR and MediaMVP?

Thanks for any help/info.

PVR-150 IR Blaster and DirecTV D10-200
Posted by: shnack - 2005-08-04, 07:49 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (14)

I've got the Hauppauge PVR-150 with infrared blaster, and would like to get it to work with my DirecTV D10-200 box. In doing some searches it looks like there have been problems using the serial cable, for which an upgrade is being worked on. What I would like to know is if anyone has been able to get the IR blaster working with this D10-200 box. Has anyone had any luck? I'm using the IR Blaster software from Hauppage, and it is the latest version.

Wake up PC for scheduled recordings?
Posted by: mhofmeis - 2005-08-04, 12:48 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi I'm a newbie with GBPVR. Most of it works fine for me, but I have not already found out how to schedule recordings which wake up my PC from standby mode. It works with the Hauppauge scheduler, but of course I want to use EPG and the remote control to schedule the recordings instead of keyboard and mouse.

Has anyone an idea? Thanks in advance.

  USBUIRT and Sky Digibox problem
Posted by: jakex - 2005-08-04, 11:23 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I am running GBPVR09211 and USBUIRT drivers v1_3. I am using the direct recording plugin and a PVR350, my EPG is set to Bleb(UK) and channel changer is set to USB-UIRT plugin.

The problem I am getting is the sky box is sent the wrong signal to change channels. The signal sent causes the sky OSD to display a speaker icon and then two numbers which are the two numbers from the GBPVR config, recording source, source channel numbers.
If I edit the source channel numbers for the correct Sky channel number, for example 101 for BBC1 then the digibox is sent the correct signal.

How can I synchronise these numbers with the correct Sky channels?

Also, my EPG has many missing channels, MotorsTV (sky 413) to name but one. How can I get a complete EPG?
