Live TV just shows black screen
Posted by: jonnyknowsbest - 2005-08-04, 11:06 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

I have set up GBPVR with my TV Card and the Cyberlink MpgMux.ax (tried with version 2.0.0 AND v5.0.0.727) but whenever i try to use LiveTV i just get a black screen.

The "Map channels" button in the config works correctly and i can see the preview channels, but LiveTV just won't work.

  epg not updating
Posted by: macroceph - 2005-08-04, 06:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

In the last three or four days my epg has not updated. I'm running v.0.90.10 and using Zap2It. I havent made any changes and my Zap2it account still works. When I try to manually update, I get the message:

"Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check your EPG Source Settings and try again."

Obviously, I tried that, and I'm not seeing anything wrong. GB-PVR had worked perfectly for over 7 months. I'm open to all suggestions.

thanks,

Dave

  EPG Tweak?
Posted by: KiwiKid - 2005-08-04, 06:34 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hey there,

Can I change to way GBPVR displays the channels in TVGuide - that is - I want to list the channels in the order I deem important so only the channels I watch the most are shown in the TVguide view window.

If this is possible how is it done?

"Object Reference Not Set To An Instance Of An Object"
Posted by: joelmeans - 2005-08-04, 06:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I just got done installing GBPVR and a Hauppauge PVR-150mce. I got all of my settings done and got the error in the title when I click on "Live TV". Any suggestions? Here is my setup:

Win XP
Hauppauge PVR-150mce with the latest drivers
DirectX9.0c installed (had 9.0b originally and updated trying to fix error)
nVidia DVD Decoder for mpeg2 decoding
Latest version of GBPVR

Any help would be greatly appreciated by this noob.
Joel

  Scheduled Viewing
Posted by: chrisjx - 2005-08-04, 06:21 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (9)

I think it would be cool to have a way to save "scheduled viewing". I know the programs I want to watch and I'd like the scheduler (much like the recording scheduler) to change channels based on what I program in.

It's like the recording schedule, except no recording.

Could also be useful to parents who might want to limit which programs the kids watch.

I'd like to set it up to switch to CSI every Monday night, Nova on Tuesdays, etc, etc.

Thoughts?

  Customizable command shortcuts
Posted by: Zod - 2005-08-04, 04:08 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I wish...

I could change or add command shortcuts for each command--you know, like you can do with almost all modern computer games? For example, if I had my way, I would change the rewind shortcut from Ctrl-R to Ctrl-B, so that it corresponds with the "Previous Track" shortcut in Windows Media Player. Fast Forward (Ctrl-F) already does correspond, so why not rewind? That sort of thing.

BTW, sub...I've seen you post about "loving to make changes, if it meant a donation". How about you use http://www.fundable.org to gather donations for specific features (or groups of features) for GBPVR, sort of like a bounty system? That way, you'll get paid for your effort, and your effort will be directed toward what people are willing to pay for to get in GBPVR? I'd recommend taking some of the major TO-DO's, then making quick Fundraiser project sites for them on Fundable. It's free and easy, and if it gets you paid and these things made, it's gotta be worth it. I'm already trying it for a project of my own: http://www.fundable.org/groupactions/aibocam

Granted, I wasn't successful in my fundraiser, but if you set the buy-in at like $5, I bet you could get some money quickly. I'd personally be willing to pay $20 or so if it meant refining GBPVR to be competitive with a mainstream retail PVR interface.

Robust Fast Forwarding and Rewinding behavior
Posted by: Zod - 2005-08-04, 03:56 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I wish...

Pressing fast forward (Ctrl-F) or rewind (Ctrl-R) once would speed up playback to 2x, with audible sound as well (like ATI/Cyberlink PowerCinema does, even though it's a horrible PVR program). Pressing it again would speed up to 4x playback, without sound. Pressing again would bump it up to 8x playback. Additional button presses would just skip 30 seconds at a time. Pressing "Play" would bring playback back to normal speed, and reset the FF/RW multiplier.

Ideally, all values about (2x, 4x, 8x, 30 seconds) would be customizable within GUI.

  ZapTools Updated
Posted by: UncleJohnsBand - 2005-08-04, 02:04 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (7)

ZapTools has now been updated to be more efficient and streamlined. New processing has also been added to ensure that the extended Zap2it data is maintained for all your recordings in GBPVR.

If you are using the Zap2it EPG then this utility is probably worth you downloading and installing. ZapTools will provide extended Zap2it data to the Enhanced Web Admin (scheduler). This data includes Repeat information, Genre (i.e. Comedy, Drama, News, Sitcom, etc.), and Rating (i.e. PG, G, PG-13, etc).

The utility is easy to use and setup....instructions and utility are on the wiki.

The utility contains a dll library that can be used by any .net application to access the extended data in the zapdb.mdb file that the utility stores it's information in. Feel free to use this library in your own plug-in or utility!

Enjoy. Big Grin

PVR-500 Watch TV on free Source while recording
Posted by: JLB - 2005-08-03, 11:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have a PVR-500 dual tuner. 1 Tuner is for analog tv ota. The other is for sat. channels thru s-video. Channel numbers between the two sources are seperate. 5-23 ota on one. 101-399 for the sat. channels.

If the last watched live tv channel's tuner is busy recording a scheduled recording. Then I get a tuner isn't available and to cancel watching live TV or watch what that source is recording.

I can't tell it to tune to a channel that is available on the sleeping tuner source. Any work around?
Thanks

  CDK Scheduler / Rectracker problem
Posted by: Beaker - 2005-08-03, 11:20 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (9)

I'm very impressed with the functionality of this combo, but I'm still fine-tuning and I'm now having a problem.

When PriorityRecording.exe runs, the recording.log lists all episodes of some shows as:

"Failed restriction progam already recorded"

when they haven't already been recorded and they are not in rectracker.mdb.

The problem even persisted when I added these shows to the ignore list and all episodes were removed from rectracker.mdb.

Would anyone have any ideas why this might happen?

Thanks.
