Hey everyone.
Today I'm happy, received my PVR 500 MCE
But I couldn't use it. :/
First I tried with RCA cables and my VCR as tuner, got no image and no sound.
Then I tried with coaxial cable, using the card tuner, got sound but no image.
Maybe the problem is because there is no "Brazil" option on the country list. Maybe?
Brazil is PAL-M and the Hauppauge support told me I needed a NTSC card, so I bought it. Hope this is not my problem.
I didn't have chance to test other softwares, had to come to work.
Does anyone have a clue? Or is there any way GB-PVR could "support" Brazil?
Thanx in advance.
Now that SA has "arrived", I wanted to be the first to pose this question.
How can I have SA run on my finished recordings, via postprocessing.bat (or automatically otherwise on "in progress" recordings), and when done (creating the comskip-like .txt file) have comclean do it's thing?
1) HDTV - I have a HDTV I know the PC can output a DVI but is there hardware to receive Component video-in?
2) HD-Cable Box - I have an HD Cable box how would this work with GBPVR I understand that I would need some type of IR-Blast to change the channels on the cable box but how does this work with Time-shifting. I would assume that if I wanted to record channel 428 the system would have to IR-Blast the Cable box.
3) HD-Cable Box - Multiple tuner PVR card. If I am watching a show on channel 200 but I am set to record on channel 428 what happens? Are any companies coming out with a PVR card that could access channels above 125?
4) What HD hardware options are available? Over the air HD is not worth my time I only have about 5 channels and they are not worth watching. How do I over come this obstacle.
5) Anyone with an HD setup if you could list your hardware and any issues that you may have come across please let me know.
Gbpvr has been running amazing for almost two weeks. But today when I updated the EPG the listings were offset by one hour. If a show starts at 8:00pm gbpvr's epg shows it starting at 7:00pm. My clock is set to the correct time zone EST. I even removed GBPVR with the add/remove programs lucky I did regedit and found that GBPRV still leaves its-self
in the programs folder. I even created a new account with zap-to-it Which by the way shows the correct listings on it's site.
Ive just about got my system running, but am having a few issues with live tv.
I realise the BDA / DVB + MVP isnt the most sucessful soltuion but as far as i can gather the only real issues should be the ammount of time required to change chanels.
My system is a wired lan running a broadband router (DLink DI-624), an MVP, a GBPVR server running on a athlon xp 3000, 1.25gb ram, 10gb os dirve + 80gb data drive, windows xp pro sp2.
Using the ShowShifter MUX.
Have the live buffers / recording set to the second drive.
Ive tried the 5.000.727 (inthink) Cyberlink Mux but had problems with the GBPVRrecordingservice crashing randomly when changing chanels.
Ive tried the intervideo mux but that was poor, didnt even get any audio.
I get most chanels fine, live tv seems fine after the initial few seconds it settles down with no issues.
On some chanels however I get very bad breakup / skipping issues.
These chanels seem to play much better when running th GBPVR "Client" on the main machine, even in time shift mode.
Can anyone give me some tips as to where to start looking ?
I cant see how it can be a network issues since ive been playing some chanels for several hours with no problems, ive also got a lot of cam corder footage that plays fine as well and it has a similar bit rate to the live tv.
I cant see how it can be the mux as it plays fine on the main machine in time shift mode.
I´m living in Austria, using xmltv (with the option tvtoday) to update my EPG.
Everything worked fine till yesterday. I got back an error message from xmltv application:
grabbing: Can't call method "look_down" on an undefined value at /PerlApp/grab/de_tvtoday/tv_grab_de_tvtoday line 455.
Has anybody else similar problems or a different solution for getting EPG data in Austria/Germany for GBPVR.
I started to work out on GBPVR two days ago and I'm nearly completely satisfied...
The only problem I got is the playback of music... it all works fine with *.wma files but I can't hear anything coming out my speakers when trying to playback a *.mp3 file... Most of my files are encoded by LAME encoder with constant bitrates 128, 160, 192 kbit/s.
Is there anything I could change in the config or any other codec I could tell GBPVR to use?
Hope u can help me out
Matt
(I'm sorry if this issue was already discussed - I searched the forum quite a while but didn't find a solution)
I created a custom task which set up a new button in the main viewer. Is it possible to display corresponding artwork when the button is highlighted. Such as when selecting the TV Guide, an image is diplayed. How is this done with custom tasks? I've tried to create a directory with the same name as the button but that had no effect. I pretty much use the standard skin.xml found in the main menu, only changing some locations of things.
i was hoping that jeff could adapt his current panel to allow for any plugin to easily send notifications to the user, these notifications would all follow the same pattern, ie all have
- a title
- a message
- an image (a default image if not specified)
and since all these notifications would be extremely similar it would be best if they looked exactly the same, and appeared in the same place, and only appeared one at a time. jeff has pretty much done this, but i think it needs to be modified a little, so i was hoping that us developers could discuss what we would need out of this Uber Panel. well we should really have 2 panels, one for notifications and one for looping annoucements (eg weather). The basic idea i think for messages is to be similar to a windows popup message, have categories like: alert/warning, information, err whatever else they've got, so either different signatures for different types, or just a extra parameters specify the message type. so what do you guys think? and more importantly, jeff you cool with this?
the only panel i would really want that is seperate (well that exists at the moment) would be the music panel (i like that to be displayed all the time when music is playing back).
