  Reorder Recordings and Marking
Posted by: Tre - 2005-07-27, 03:36 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

It would be nice if the ordering of recordings was reversed (newer recordings shown at the top) and if there was a way to mark recordings as viewed or unviewed. I think that this is partially available with plugins although I am not sure which plugins quite yet.

  Msi PC anywhere Plug-in
Posted by: Jazee - 2005-07-27, 03:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have been searching threw the forums for how to get a MSI PC @nywhere pro card to work. I ran across a forum post stating that someone had created a plug-in. I tryed to go to the link but it goes to an old forum post on the old forums. If someone could help me out on getting this working that would be great.

  Picture in Picture
Posted by: spinalcracker - 2005-07-27, 03:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Does GBPVR support picture in picture? I love this software. Best out there, but to be able to record and watch at the same time I obviously need two capture cards. It will help justify the dough if this will also give me picture in picture functionality.

Thanks

  Can extra screen be exluded
Posted by: Marbles_00 - 2005-07-27, 02:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm jumping back and forth between Xlobby and GBPVR using sendfocus.exe and everything runs great. My only question is that when going from GBPVR back to Xlobby, a black screen pops up with the following text ""Executing External Task" in white lettering. For my application, this window is not desired as I'm trying to acheive a seamless transistion between the two programs. Is it possible to "turn" that extra window off? If not, in a future release, could it be possible to have that as an option?

  ShowAnalyzer Beta
Posted by: Jere_Jones - 2005-07-27, 01:10 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (119)

ShowAnalyzer is an external utility that identifies the location of commercials in recorded shows. It is designed to be a replacement for comskip.

ShowAnalyzer can be run in one of two different modes:
1) Free
2) Normal

The only difference between free and normal is that free does not include any decoders. You have to provide the decoder yourself. The decoders that you will need can be downloaded from the AviSynth Filter Collection. Download the EvilMPASource by nic and the Mpegdecoder by nic. Only the version in the Avisynth 2.5 column will work. Place those files in the same directory that contains ShowAnalyzer.dll. Now ShowAnalyzer will work.

When using SA in free mode there are a couple of things you should be aware of:
1) Due to limitations in the audio decoder, do not run SA on a show that is still being recorded (i.e. no live detection).
2) When SA starts, there will be a lot of disk activity while the audio decoder reads the entire file. It doesn't use much CPU for this, but the disk drive will be very busy.
3) After the initial scan, SA will read the file again to decode the audio.
4) After the audio decode, SA will read the file one last time to decode the video.
5) If the first two scans are unacceptable to you, you can remove the EvilMPASource.dll file. However, SA's ability to accurately detect commercials will be handicapped.

If you want to try SA in normal mode, go to http://www.dragonglobal.org/trialrequest.htm and fill in the form. A trial key will be sent to you immediately.

If you want to purchase a normal key for $10, go to http://www.dragonglobal.org/purchase.htm to see the available methods of payment. If you don't like any of the options, just email me at showanalyzer@gmail.com and we can work out something else. I'm flexible. [Image: smile.gif]

Once you have a key (trial or normal), run SAConfig and click on Register under the operations menu. Enter your information and SA's built in decoder will be activated.

Regardless of whether you run SA in free or normal mode, installation and setup is straight-foward. Just make sure that you uninstall any version prior to 0.5.0 before installing the beta. And make sure that you "Save All" in SAConfig before you run SA.

I'm happy to answer any questions either here or on the Dragon Global forums. Which ever is easier for you.

Until I get my website updated, you can download SA directly from here.

Jere

Updated link to reflect new version.

[EDIT - 27 Oct 2005]

  MVP Flicker setting
Posted by: LilY0da - 2005-07-27, 02:37 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - No Replies

Heya

The hauppauge software has a setting in the config for the flicker setting. On my cheapo TV in the basement, I have to set it to high, otherwise the white horizontal lines are killing my eyes after a few minutes.

But when I boot the GBPVR, it seems like it resets it to zero. Anyone knows if there is a way to force that setting to high while still using GBPVR?

  Restoring Mvp Connection
Posted by: jerry430 - 2005-07-27, 01:35 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

Like a lot of people here, I periodically lose my MVP connection and have a devil of a time restoring it. I have discovered a simple process that has immediately restored the connection each time I've done it. Bear in mind that I'm connected directly to my PC via crossover cable.
When I lose connection, I do the following:
Start Hauppauge MediaMVP (I know GBPVR is supposed to work on MVP without the Hauppauge software installed)
Restart GBPVR
Stop Hauppauge MediaMVP

I have put a Hauppauge Start/Start desktop shortcut just above the GB circle in the tray, so that it takes me about 20 seconds to accomplish the above. I'm curious to see if this works for others.

nanoMPEG -> DVD Movie Factory 3 SE problem
Posted by: HamsterGirl35 - 2005-07-27, 12:06 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (20)

Hi,

This question only applies to PVR user using nanMPEG & DVD Movie Factory to author DVD.....

I have PVR 150 and it came with nanoMPEG video editor (cut and stitch) and then one can import these videos into DVD movie factory to make a new dvd....

When I finish cutting from nanoMPEG (ie, manually cut the commercials), the file looks ok, view no problem in Window Media Player or Power DVD;
however, after I import to DVD moview factory, it stops showing video at around the second time I cut the video....

Does any of the PVR150 users using the same software having the same problem?

the video I was cutting were CSIs, the cartoons are no problem as they are just single cut .....while CSI are to be cut(5 times for commercials)

Help.....

  Stopping Recording Service while recording
Posted by: kcurley - 2005-07-26, 11:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have encountered a problem when I stop the recording service while it is recording. The problem is that when I try to restart the service I get an unhandled exception that wont go away until the scheduled recording is over. Does anyone else have this problem, or is this a known issue?
