sorry for my dumb questions...
i managed to install gb-pvr with a hauppauge pvr 500 (had to modify the direct.ini because the pin names where 'wrong')
i configured both interfaces (#1 and #2 from the pvr 500) and i can watch tv after all.
question part: how can i watch tv on the second tuner (picture in picture?)
is there a manual somewhere?
and is it possible to get rid of the EPG stuff? within the configuration is pretty bugging me ton configure it, but there is no real epg source for switzerland/cable-tv.
So I have a 250 on my main system which I use daily connected to our TV. I would like to start using it to get better results from comskip's dictionary.
Does it record all closed caption information by default or do I need to turn something on within GBPVR configuration? If so I thought I read at one time that if you live in the US not to enable closed caption.
Also, I was under the impression that the 150MCE does record closed caption information where as the 150 does not. Is this correct?
I have GBPVR enabled to get access over the internet. I use it to program show when I'm away from home (and that's a lot) now I want to play the shows I have recorded as well over the internet. When I log in and look at my recorded programs i can press the play butten, but there is no player that will play the files. And when I click to download I receive a file of a few kb and does nothing.
If I were to use Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 PCI card & Realmagic XCard together, will it work ?
Does GB-PVR able to configure which remote to use ? (eg. Hauppauge Remote & XCard Remote)
I'm a new user of GB-PVR & I'm planning to build my own media center, currently the hardwares I'm planning to buy is as below, please let me know whether it will work for GB-PVR :-
1. Intel Celeron D 2.4Ghz/533Mhz FSB/256KB Cache.
2. MSI P4MAM2-V Micro-ATX Mainboard.
3. 256MB Kingston PC-2700 DDR (333Mhz).
4. 160GB Seagate Barracuda ATA-V.
6. 16x Samsung DVD-ROM Drive.
7. Enlight EN7473 Micro-ATX Casing c/w Power Supply Unit.
8. Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 150 PCI Controller Card w/ Remote.
9. RealMagic XCard (Sigma Designs) PCI Card w/ Remote.
10. Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.
I have tried posting in plugin support but this falls on the line of program support and plugin, so i will try here also.
I have GBpvr running without using any plugins. It does what it is suppose to do. When i install Xrecord/CDK scheduler all seems to work but the record service never starts. The episodes are in the GBpvr database. The service only starts when a restart or edit to the gbpvr database is done(ie. show added using standard scheduler or show deleted from pending. At that point it works fine.
Im using the new release of GBpvr(09211) and have heard that there could be a database refresh problem(a hook needed to refresh). Is this true?
Is there anything i can do(a work around?) with this current version and force a refresh with the recording service?
If this seems to be a isolated problem can i have access to the previous version of GBpvr so i can test this.
I like having the flexibility with CDK, if i cant resolve this i will end up using the standard scheduler included with GBpvr, which works.
I am trying to set up a system and I am running into some problems. I bought a WinTV-PVR-150 to use with GB PVR. It will capture using its really horrible software (that came with the card) but will not with GBPVR. If I go to Live TV (I have a channel setup as composite input) the screen shows the video. When I hit record (ctrl K) the screen says changing to time shifting mode with a black background. That's it, I have to reset the computer to get out of it....
Just to say that I have updated the skin on the wiki with my current settings.
To be honest, I'm not sure exactly what has changed (I did a clean system install to try and [unsuccessfully] overcome some dvb problems I had, and my restore-to backup was corrupted, so this is from a week or two back).
It is however definitely skinned for the latest myvideos and xrecord.
hi all, with comskip and the automatic commercial cut-plugin we sure have nice cutting abilities. and myvideos does the burning job.
but how about a builtin cutter? i mean, a plugin, where you can define cutpoints with your remote. the plugin would show a still picture from the movie, pressing fast forward or so would jump minutes or seconds forward and show another picture. a timeline would display the cutpoints and the actual position.
there are two ways of using this: correct the comskip-cutpoints or using this without comskip (like i would do, because comskip won't work very well in germany). a cutted mpeg would then be generated and one could burn this file onto dvd with myvideos.
i have found sample code to do this. the sample code can generate screenshots from a movie within c#. and i could do this plugin. here are my questions:
- is this interesting for any other people except me?
- wouldn't it be better to include this ability to myvideos? with the popup-menu you could cut the file, it will be sent to the mydvd-section where you can burn it.
i would code a little bit and then send the code to reven, so he can include it in myvideos, if he wants.
i am new and want to test the gbpvr system with my hauppauge MVP.
i installed the software on my pc and configurated all nessesary things but my MVP does not connect to GBPVR!?
i normally use the built in MVP desktop on another PC and this i deactivated für my test. when i activate the MVP system my device gets connection immediadly, so it cant be foult of the MVP device.
