I've been looking for a video capture card that will also provide a TV tuner. The tuner isn't as important to me as being able to hook up my camcorder and VCR to make good quality DVD's from my home videos (without spending a fortune on a high-end card).
I've narrowed my choice down to the Hauppauge WIN PVR 150 (I don't need or want the FM input, or TV Out capability of the 350).
I've done searching on Ebay and Pricewatch, and it seems like what's mostly available, and generally cheaper is the "MCE" version of the PVR-150.
I'm running Windows XP Professional, so what would I lose if I purchased the 150MCE, as opposed to the 150?
I've got my satellite receiver connected to my Happauge PVR250 card with an S-Video lead and another lead for connecting the audio to the Line input of my Tv card. When I'm watching Live Tv, but both video and audio seems to be way out of sync. I've even tried this with showshifter and it's still the same. If I use an ordinary R.F. lead as an aerial input to my Tv card, all is fine, but I want to retain the quality S-Video gives me. Anyone with suggestions?
AMD1800+, GEForce 4400MX, 512 Ram, Lots of hard disk, Win XP.
I have tried every editor there is for files output by comclean.
Nanopeg won't work. Womble mpeg-vcr won't save the file correctly, VideoReDo crashes, mpeg2cut only cuts on I frames...
I can demux and edit in Cuttermaran, but this add's a lot of time to the process, which I'm trying to avoid.
Other than the advanced editors, such as Vegas, does anyone have any suggestions for a simple cutter that works?
Hi. I have been having 0KB files with my Nova-T 90002. I would like to try some other Mux filters to see if I can fix it. I have seen a few posts mentioning the Showshifter Mux. I tried searching and could not find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, is there a new Cyberlink Mux out yet? Again pointers would be cool. Cheers.
Anyone have any experience with a good, cheap USB based TV tuner?
Camping season's approaching, and our old portable AC/DC 9" TV is on it's last leg. We've been debating getting another, and I was thinking since I tend to always have my laptop with us, why not just pick up a tuner for it.
I don't care about capture etc, just something to tune NTSC TV and play it on the laptop via USB. I guess PCMCI is an option as well, but I doubt there's much there.
It is possible to change the pause feature to display the OSD only for about 5 seconds, then go away. Alot of times we like to pause the show to read any words or fast action. The OSD staying up all the time gets in the way. I know there is a setting for minimal OSD in the config program, but thats not what I am looking for, I want to see the time line, but if it stays paused for a few seconds, go away.
With my records the audio and video are out of sync. Sometimes fastfowarding 30secs helps, but then it gets back out of sync.
Also it seems as though random files under the root directory for "Video Library" won't play, the system hangs, but files in folders off the root directory play. Not a huge deal, just curious why or if there is a fix.
I tried searching if someone had posted this, but couldn't figure out what search term to use, so I apologize if this has been asked.
Has anyone ever notice that if you're in TV Guide... press say 5, 7, OK it will go to channel 57 in the TV Guide, but if you were to enter a lower number channel, say 8, OK, it will go to the channel but the enitre schedule wouldn't go there.
However, at the bottom of the screen you get the information about what is showing on channel 8reen. And when you move left and right the schedule will shift, but will shift and show what's on the channels around 57.
Exiting and re-entering the TV Guide doesn't fix the problem either. You're still stuck on channel 57 listings, and channel 8 info at the bottom.
But, if you enter say 5,8, OK for channel 58 you actually go to channel 58 in the TV Guide. So, what i have done is enter channel 72 (the last channel in my guide) then move down to channel 2, then from there I can go to whatever channel I want that's less than say, 57 if that was were I started.
I wish i was more concise, but oh well, hopefully everyone understands what I'm trying to describe.
