Bought a MVP today, cute box, but I wish it would get past the splash screen. It is just sitting on "Loading Application..." for about 10 minutes now. Is this normal?
I have PGPVR set to autostart one MVP server and it does have the "don't close this window or you will hose MVP" window on the GBPVR box.
I have been getting intermittant problems where I get an error message from XP GBPVR has encountered an error and cannot continue. I have been cancelling these and GBPVR exits. If I restart the system and restart GBPVR it may run for an hour and have the error or it may run overnight before failing again.
I have attached the Microsoft Error file to this post in hopes that someone can tell me what is wrong and how to correct it.
I can schedule recordings and they start recording, but after a time period ranging from a few seconds to 4 minutes, the mpeg file on disc stops growing, despite the status window saying that the device is still recording. The quality of the small amount that is recorded is totally flawless though.
I'm using pdmpgmux.ax from an installation of the Cyberlink Make DVD trial.
I've only just got the card and haven't experimented extensively, but wondered whether any of you have suggestions.
Well I went to the effort of getting MVPMC downloaded to try, to see whether the crashing MVP was the dongle or network or hardware etc etc.
I used a film that I had experienced stuttering (briefly at a few points), rewinding skip would go forward and not backwards, pausing causing usual issues, crashing etc etc.
Using the MVPMC dongle, I could skip as many times as I wanted, quickly as I wanted, rewind, generally do all that I would expect, film played fine too.
Now I wonder if it could be changed to work with GBPVR.
Has anyone used GBPVR in conjunction with any of the wireless remote players on the market such as the DLink DSM320, Linksys WMCE54AG or the Netgear MP115?
Just curious how difficult it would to add support for this card.. problably should work fine via the video inlay or vpe. then out via the tv out of the video card..there is also, I believe, a registry hack. which alolws the decoder card decoded video to be dumped directly into the video cards memory via the bus. so your card does not even need vip/vpe ports.. also it would be a nice card to consider since things are going HD it's bigger brother supports HD formats, and works on the same principle.. so it would be a cheaper route to work out the basic kinks with the xpress card.
but I was more curious via the tv out of of the hardware card itself.. since it only requires a bmp to be formated a certian way to display via osd.. if anyone curious I have sdks to the decoder card ( they are open to the public)
and it a realively common card on the internet selling for a couple of bucks($5- $20)
I am planning on buying a PVR-150 instead of a 250 because of price, but one thing I am unsure about is how the video gets back to the TV. From the picture of the card it looks like it has 1 coax, 1 S-video and 1 composite connector. If I run my satellite to the PC through S-video, how does it go back to the tv? (sorry for the newb question). Also, how does the sound handling work, through the sound card or does the PVR card provide that functionality as well?
