What is the best/most compatible Digital DVB - T card for GBPVR?
Posted by: somefuka - 2005-06-14, 09:21 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I live in the UK and am very interested in purchasing a DVB- T digital tuner PCI card, for use with GB-PVR.

I wish to utilise all the functions of GB-PVR, and ideally have a remote control.

Could you please advise me which card would is the most compatible and easiest to use with GBPVR?

Many Thanks!

Small bug in deletion from "what's new" menu
Posted by: stefan - 2005-06-14, 09:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

This bug is really small, not more than a cosmetic defect, I guess.
Sometimes when you delete a show from the "what's new" menu, the show doesn't disappear from the list until you click on the "what's new" button again, or sometimes they disappear if you continue to delete more shows.
Of obvious reasons I don't want to try this too much, so I just report it and leave it up to you to investigate ;-)

  Weather plugin: more unit conversions
Posted by: MaBo - 2005-06-14, 09:02 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (14)

Hi,
Just installed the weather plugin. Is great, looks great and particularly the way to add cities using the remote is nice!

However, I live in Europe (continent) and am used to the SI-units (kg, m, s, etcetera). The temperature can be converted to centigrade, which I like, however pressure and visibilitie are still in inch HG and miles. Is it possible to add more conversions?

Greetz,
MaBo

  Reoccuring Recording Problem
Posted by: yeklim1 - 2005-06-14, 06:24 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have just started using this great piece of software, but I am having a problem with reoccuring recordings. I am trying to record the 11 o'clock episode of the Daily show every night to get the new ones. When I select this episode and reoccuring(this channel, this timeslot) it records not only the 11 o'clock episode, but the 11:30 and 12:00 one as well. Am I doing something wrong or is this a strange glitch?

  Conflicts?
Posted by: Trevor - 2005-06-14, 03:34 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

What exactly happens when a show is in conflict?

I had one show recording from 6 to 8pm with a 15 minute runover (yes, that's correct), and another one scheduled for 8 to 9 pm. I'm uncertain if the conflict showed up on the conflict list or not.

When I went to view the show, it cut off at 8pm exactly and the other show started recording.

Question A: Should this show up in the conflict section?
Question B: How do conflicts resolve? Is this documented anywhere?

Thanks for your time.

Brief sound blips in live TV and playback
Posted by: Boromir - 2005-06-14, 03:03 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I am getting occasional sound blips in both live TV and recording playback. They are less than a second long, and are like static or a quick dull pop. I don't think it is the speakers as I have tried both computer speakers and my TV speakers. Sometimes it is more frequent/annoying than others.

I am running a PVR150 for input, ATI 9800 TV out for video, and on-board ADI AD1980 sound. I have a P-IV 2.4GHz with a gig of RAM.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I would be nice if i could record manually, i mean while watching a show pressing record and stop it whenever i want, As i understand right now you can only record a show scheduling it right?

Any Chance of FM Autotune??? Plugin Maybe??
Posted by: gordow - 2005-06-14, 02:35 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Sub ,, no probs updating with the newest release ,, working great ,, but i was wondering if there would be any Fm radio autotune for those cards that support it?

I'm on cable and trying to install the stations manually is next to impossible as they change the real Fm stations freq. to thier own freq. for some reason or another.

Some of the other crap proggies like Power Cinema and Intervid's Home Theatre and Media Portal ,,among others that i've tried and i was hoping that maybe this might be an option or a plugin in the future.

Thanks for a great program and keep up the good work.

Gord

  On Screen Channel Numbers
Posted by: mishac - 2005-06-14, 02:20 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I'm a newbie to GB-PVR, but I'm loving it so far.

I have had a few problems, but I think I've handled them all. The one thing I would like to do is change the size/font of the on screen channel numbers that appear when you press numbers on the keyboard or the remote. I see the question has been asked before on the forum but I was unable to find an answer.

If there is an answer out there on the forums or the wiki and I missed it, I apologise for bugging y'all, but please let me know Smile

  Will I have a problem?
Posted by: s2DragonEx - 2005-06-14, 01:37 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I was wondering if I can run the Wintv and MVP if my cable is delivered via a cable box that has only RF (the cable outlet thing) on it?

I am also wondering if my comp will have a problem acting as a PVR? Here are my comp specs:

amd64 3000+
512 ddr333 ram
nvidia geforce fx 5700 ultra w/256 mb ddr
160 gb western digital hd

What hardware do you recommend that I use?
