can't pause or record, no MPG files - HELP!
Posted by: Networker - 2005-06-09, 01:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (17)

Hello all.

Well I got LiveTV working now on both PVR150s. However when I schedule a record or hit record the status shows recording for the one card, the folder is created but no MPG file. If watching LiveTV and I hit record I get the message "switching to time shift" then it drops back to the Guide... Nothing else.

I can't pause LiveTV either.

Don't know if it could be my Decoders or not. I would not think so as I've tried recording w/o watching and I've tried recording one show while trying to watch LiveTV.

Thanks,

John

Nvidia FX 5700 LE and hardware Mpeg2 decoder
Posted by: gomjabar - 2005-06-09, 01:35 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (10)

I have the above mentioned video card and the box says it has full hardware mpeg2 decoding capabilities. Is there anything special I should do with gbpvr in order to take advantage of this? Also is there a recommended mpeg2 decoder software?

  XP question
Posted by: alex060670 - 2005-06-09, 01:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi there,

sorry for asking this question *here*.

When I put any CD or DVD into my (external) DVD-drive, XP pops up the window "What shall I do with the data on this media? Shall I play it in the player, do you want to browse it with the explorer, or shall I just close this silly pop up window?".

This popup windows steals the focus from gbpvr which leads in really funny situations when trying to use gbpvr without monitor (just the tv-set hooked to the XCard so that the desktop can't be seen).

Please, guys, tell me: how can I tell silly XP not to pop up this silly pop up?

Thank you (and sorry again for bothering you...)

Greetings, Alex

  How to install BDA mux?
Posted by: OscarL - 2005-06-09, 10:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,
After reading the forum it seems that the showshifter BDA mux gives the best result for some people.
I have a stupid question. How do I install it? It is enough to install the showshifter trial SW. I have seen somewehere that you need to register the mux in the system register, is that true?.
Is there any way to see what muxes you have available on the system?

/Oscar

  How to setup .execChannelChanger?
Posted by: linfor - 2005-06-09, 09:51 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have a serial channel changer that I would like to setup to work with my Directv box. I have read postings and wiki but the link for instructions to setup girder is from the old board and there is no info (that I could find) on setting up .exeChannelChanger.
Does anyone have information or a link they can share on setting this up?
Thanks

  localhost:7647 / EPG question
Posted by: vitaminman - 2005-06-09, 09:04 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hey,

The other night when installing GBPVR for the first time I must have installed upteen drivers, utilities, programs, configurations, etc. to get everything to work. Now that I've made a system that works, I'm trying to go over my steps to see what worked, why, and write them down so that I can recreate it from scratch in the future in the event that I want to do this to another machine.

In my web browser's bookmarks I have this address added:

http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/Guide.aspx

When I launch it a GBPVR-sponsored (or so it seems) window appears which shows me a channel guide. If my memory serves me correctly, I can replace the number 7647 with the IP address of my router to access my PVR from a remote location to remotely add/remove recordings.

I can't seem to find where I found this site and where I can change my channel lineup, nor can I find any documentation about it. Could someone please me point in the right direction so I can take advantage of this webpage?

Take care,

Nick

Manual Method for Scheduling A Recording Without an EPG
Posted by: Danny Vega - 2005-06-09, 07:10 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I would like to be able to enter a time, date, duration, channel #, and encoding quality level for a specific recording that I want to take place at some time in the future beyond where the EPG ends. The Zap2it EPG data is usually only good for 1 -2 weeks in the future. I would like the ability to schedule recordings beyond the EPG "window" manually. An example of this is that on June 1, the EPG will only go to June 8. However, I know that on June 11 at 7:00PM on my channel 9, there's a program that I would like to record but it is not yet on the EPG. I would like to schedule that recording now and not have to worry about it when that date/time DOES appear on the EPG.

  Browsing Mini-Guide - Show title?
Posted by: Trevor - 2005-06-09, 06:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Neato that the MiniGuide is now working. Quick question. I see the show description "Tim and Jack feed the dog..." but not the title of the show itself. Just "Browsing Mini-Guide". I'm assuming that's a bug of some kind.

changing channel stutter in live tv
Posted by: gomjabar - 2005-06-09, 05:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Having a problem when I view live tv I get stuttering when I change the channel
for about 4-5 seconds then it smooths out and is fine. Does this sound like a problem with my computer? its only an 800mhz pIII?
