Control X10 devices + a/v equipment with Bluetooth mobile phone
Posted by: laurac - 2005-06-10, 01:39 PM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

Pluto is a free, open source smart home solution that seamlessly integrates: 1) media with a server for music, movies and tv shows, plus a PVR and DVD Player, 2) a home automation system with touch-screen tablet and Bluetooth mobile phone controllers, 3) a phone system with video conferencing, 4) a security system that feeds you live video on your mobile phone when there are interruptions, and lets you speak to visitors through your stereos, and 5) a home PC solution. Check it out at http://www.plutohome.com

It lets you control your X10 devices with the PC, webpads, pdas and mobile phones, using both scenario shortcuts and interactive floorplans.

  artec T1 USB recording
Posted by: faltkaese - 2005-06-10, 12:32 PM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

Hello!

I've made a small driver for this device which delivers a Transaction stream, mainly intended to record DVB-T programms directly to the harddisk.

As this driver is not BDA compliant I'm interested to know if there is any kind of interface (tuning data out, TS stream in) present in GBPVR so that i can use this device with GBPVR.

Best regards,

Kai

  Update EPG crashes
Posted by: GoodGuys - 2005-06-10, 12:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hello,

Whenever I try to update-EPG by right-clicking the tray icon, the update process crashes.

This happens when the EPG is updated automatically too.

Details:
Up until yesterday, everything worked fine for me. I've completed setting up my system, with just about everything I wanted working perfectly.

Here's the place to say thanks for this wonderful software. I've tried MediaPortal, BeyondTV, SageTV and even Linux MythTV. None worked as well as GB-PVR. Thanks!

Anyhow, when I say all was well, this includes EPG updates.

Yesterday I ran my first test of setting the system to standby after 20 minutes of inactivity, in order to see if it properly wakes up to update EPG and record shows.

I configured 2 shows to record, and EPG update at 6:00AM. My XMLTV Grabbager (TVxb) woke up the machine at 4:00AM to download shows, and the output file time and date were correct - this morning at 4:43AM it finished running.

To verify that EPG update went OK, I viewed the XMLTV output file, and found out the last show for some channel. It was for June-17th, at 23:30.
I went into GB-PVR's guide, and searched that channel to the end. It ended at 23:30 on June-16th!

At this point I tried manually updating EPG, and it crashed (png image attached).

I tried again, and again, and it's the same. I then realized that I had chaged my TVxb.ini file yesterday, and thus went ahead and commented out all the changes (they were related to adding full descriptions and some substitution).
I ran the grabber again, and tried to import the new file, but it crashed again.

The XML (zipped) is attached.

Thanks.

  Tuning assistant error
Posted by: jediha - 2005-06-10, 10:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Since i don't get any pictures in livetv (although epg channelsettings imported ok) i ran the tunning asssitant.
But every time i try to use it it gives a 'connecttopin failed' error and after that a: failed to connect pinnamecrossbarvideodecoderout to pinnameanalogvideoin error. After that it starts to scan the channels, but with no succes at all! Sad
Does anyone know the problem and has somehow a solution?
Everybody talks great about GBPVR but i can't get it to work! That really bugs me!
btw: i've a hauppauge pvr 150 with the latest drivers and the latest version of GBPVR.

thanx for any suggestion given!

  Manual recordings from Web?
Posted by: rpintor - 2005-06-10, 10:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi everybody.

I have enabled web scheduling option in GBPVR, and it works really fine, but I can't find how to schedule a manual recording (like in GBPVR from the PC in where GBPVR is installed).

It's important for me, because I can tune to various channels not included in the EPG's of my Country, Spain, and it would be nice to manage recordings without have to have an EPG of it.

Thanks a lot for your answers and sorry for my bad english.

¿change the title of the recording?
Posted by: rpintor - 2005-06-10, 10:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi everybody

When I schedule a new manual recording, I'm able to change the name prefix of the recording, according to my needs of archiving, and so on.

When I schedule a recording from the Tv Guide, the name prefix is always the name of the show...

I would like to select the name prefix of the recording, because of the way I use to name the recordings, but I don't know if it is possible, can somebody help me?

Thanks a lot for yours answers. Sorry for my bad english.

Is a filter another word for decoder?
Posted by: gomjabar - 2005-06-10, 08:22 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I read a post about enabling 'encoder pass-through' option and using the dscaler5 filter but cannot seem to find a place to enable this filter? Is it the decoders drop down menus? I see a dscaler5 decoder listed. thx

Comclean plugin : automatic deletion of commercials
Posted by: erik - 2005-06-10, 07:58 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (67)

This is the first release of comclean, it can be downloaded here
It is a utility to be used inside your postprocessing.bat to automatically delete the commercial segments found by comskip.
The cutter used (mpgtx) is very fast and very small and it runs with a low CPU load
The only limitation is that cutting is done at GOP boundaries (accuracy about 1 second)
Please read the readme.txt inside the zip file for more details.
Have fun!

  Nova-9 first time setup
Posted by: arnonm - 2005-06-10, 07:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Just did a first time setup with latest maint release.
Using a Nova-t 909 and xmltv
When I hit Map digital button, I get a dialog box for my config directory

Dialog box freezes and never releases (rebooted, killed it, etc).
1. Is there a way of providing that manually in the xml file and avoiding the dialog box?
2. What is it?

  2 tuners not working
Posted by: dazz - 2005-06-10, 06:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have an AverMedia M150 and a Hauppauge PVR150MCE. I can easily get either one working. But when I put both in config (with one being board #1 and the other #2) I get MSVC++ debug assertion errors (p!=0) when I try to use both at once. Even when gbpvr is configured with both cards, as long as gbpvr does not try to use both at the same time it works. Any ideas?
