  comskip and xvert install ?
Posted by: reboot - 2005-05-26, 03:15 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (12)

Can someone please write one set of concise instructions for installing comskip and xvert, so I can simply import the file to womble, and have it do it's thing?
I understand that I need comskip, not comskiphelper, and xvert, but what exactly do I need in postprocessing.bat?
Can I run this AFTER renamerecording, or must it go before? (It would suck if it has to go first, because the output file wouldn't know what file to work with once renamed, no?

  Need another Netradio Plugin
Posted by: sbp - 2005-05-26, 01:53 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hi I would be happy if somebody could make a netradio plugin. The current netradio can only use Shoutcast streams.
But I would like to listen to the Danish netradio (DR) which don't use shoutcast but real or wma streaming.

There are plenty netradio programs wich can recieve these streams (even mplayer should be able to recieve these streams), but I don't have the capability to make a plugin.

There is actually a webpage with all the links: http://www.dr.dk/netradio/alternativ/

And a pls file is here, but it dosn't work in GB-PVR

Posted by: xsilvergs - 2005-05-26, 01:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi

Could somebody tell me whats involved in installing the latest release. Is it a case of installing over the top of the old version?

I've only been using GB-PVR a few weeks so have never had to install a new release.

Thanks

GBPVR Blank problem on LIVETV on 2 systems
Posted by: powerx86 - 2005-05-26, 12:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I have built 2 systems with the intent to use GBPVR and Hauppauge 250 & 150MCE. Both systems are PIII 1.266Ghz with 512 of system RAM, on-board SIS video and 100+GB of disk. I have read several post about this and it seems to possibly be a codec issue? I loaded both systems from scratch with XP Pro and all the Service Packs and the only driver I must load separately are the Hauppauge cards.

After loading it I load GBPVR go thru setup and no joy! LIVETV is blank. I have tried all the modes but do not get pic. I tried the tunning assistant and I get picture. So I tried the something in one of the posts that said load the POWERDVD6 Demo. Well a little progress - but no sound. It only works in VMr7. Is there something I am doing wrong? I am using the latest verstion of GBPVR to attempt this. Please help. Should I load other trial apps like Sage or BeyondTV so it loads codecs?

Setting up GB-PVR for Game Console Input
Posted by: liana - 2005-05-26, 10:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I just want to plug my Playstation into my Hauppage WinTV card and use it. I don't care about watching TV. How do I set up GB-PVR so it reads the Playstation input?

Audio output for Music and Internet Radio?
Posted by: nchamp - 2005-05-26, 10:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Another (relatively) newbie question...

I'm running GBPVR on a Shuttle STK61K with a Hauppauge 350 card. All the TV features are working fine. However, when I run either "Internet Radio" or "Play Music" from the GBPVR menu, there's no sound. Now, the Shuttle has many outputs from the motherboard - I'm running the "TV out" (a seven pin s-video cable) to one input on my AV amp, and the Hauppauge card to a separate input. I've no connection from the sound output ports on the motherboard. I use the AV amp to switch between the windows desktop output and the GBPVR main menu.

I'm wondering if GBPVR uses the 'ordinary' sound output ports when playing music files, and not the Hauppauge card. If this is the case, I guess it's soluble, tho I'll need to do some jiggery-pokery with cabling to allow both the Happauge card *and* the motherboard sound outputs to connect to the same input on the AV amp.

Am I on the right track?

Ability to extend currently-scheduled recording time whilst recording in progress
Posted by: criticalhippo - 2005-05-26, 09:43 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

So I recorded the dramatic Champions League football final last night for posterity, but it over-ran its scheduled time (went to extra time + penalties).

Now I was sat watching the game (not through gb-pvr), and had no way (that I knew of) of extending the finish time of the recording.

It would be great if there was a way of manually tweaking the upper bound to later on (effectively over-riding what the EPG schedule offers) both prior to, and during recording.

Any thoughts? It would mainly be useful for sports, I imagine...

Hi,
If I accidentally (or otherwise) press stop/menu while watching a recording, it would be nice if the "view recordings" page had an additional button "continuing watching from 1:10", or where ever I was last up to.
This would just be icing on top of an excellent program.

  Key mappings in LiveTv/Playback mode
Posted by: ChookMaster - 2005-05-26, 05:45 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

My remote (ultraview = dvico fusion) only has 3 video-player like buttons,
( <, stop, > ) and as such buttons are a bit scarce. I can remap any button
to any key, but it is hard to do a consistent set. The arrow keys, that are
so useful elsewhere, are "wasted" in LiveTv/Video playback mode. This
leaves me with a couple of options:
1) mess up my numbers to get FF/rew/skip buttons etc. (current method)
2) have multiple mappings, ie put remote into "playback" mode, and toggle back to "epg/menu" mode by pressing my bluw button (will try this next)
3) write some code to detect GBPVR mode, and reassign keys dynamically (too hard, unless anyone has a good idea about detecting this ?)
4) GBPVR lets me re-assign key binding
5) GBPVR doubles up on keys, eg allowing Crtl-R OR left-arrow do rewind.
6) Some other method I don't know about.

5) Would satisfy me nicely, and shouldn't be too hard (?). May I suggest arrow keys for ff/rew/skip +60, skip -60, enter = toggle play ?

  Thread priority?
Posted by: Indigo - 2005-05-26, 04:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I couldn't find anything on a search about this.

Short story: I finally got GBPVR to work, newegg sent me the replacement TV 402U with the software disc containing win DVR and DVD. It works perfectly now, with one minor problem:

I have to avoid using my PC when shows are recording. Now, I looked at the cpu usage when shows are recording, and it is only 3% or so. I am thinking the problem happens when another app spikes the CPU to 100% for short periods of time, causing the skipping to happen in my recordings, which makes sense if the thread for that app and the thread for the recording service are at the same level, or if the app's is higher than the recording service's.

I figured a possible way to fix this would be to up the recording service's priority to abovenormal, but it won't let me.. it says access denied. Is there any way I can change the recording service's thread priority so I can see if that fixes the problem?
