  GBPVR not working anymore
Posted by: TomP - 2005-05-27, 01:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I just installed the latest version of GBPVR 092.8 and now nothing works with it. When I try to update the EPG, I get an error message stating my EPG Source settings are wrong. So I emptied my EPG Source and started over with the same result. I even went as far as creating a new account with Zap2it but it does not work either. I can logon to these accounts but cannot update EPG from Config.

I had the EPG working in the previous version and was successful in updating the EPG and viewing the listings. However, GBPVR never did allow me to set recordings or use LiveTV. It always gave me the message-- "Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it."

Here is my setup:

Recording Source: Direct Recording Plugin
EPG Source: Zap2it (USA,Canada only)
Channel Changer: No channel changer required

Recording Source Settings:
Capture Card Type: Hauppauge WINTV-PVR-USB2
Country: Canada
Board Number: Capture Device #1 (not sure what this is???)
Source: Internal Tuner (I assume for my external USB capture device)
Tuning: Cable

  MyMusic - Playlist not working
Posted by: fpeyaud - 2005-05-27, 10:41 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (8)

I can't seem to get MyMusic to play a full playlist. It plays the first song and then stop.
Steps: highlight the playlist filename, click ok, then ok again (at the "load playlist?" message) - the playlist gets loaded but only first song plays then playing stops.
Am I doing something wrong? I really need this to work

Also, on the MyMusic plugin page (See Here), there is a section about "Tag Keywords", what are they and how can I use them to load playlists faster?

Thanks !
Fabien

MVP error on accesing TV GUIDE. (Key already added?)
Posted by: caz - 2005-05-27, 08:34 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

I just got my GBPVR setup running two days ago, it ran well for the first day or so, however, the MVP has started to complain when going into the TV GUIDE:

Item already added. Key in dictionary "913". Key being added "913".

Anyone know what is causing this? I already tried rebooting the server, rebooting the mvp etc. The MVP is D3A revision and the server is running the latest version of GBPVR.

BTW: Excellent job Sub! This is very nice software indeed! Smile

  Updated Weather Plug-in Posted
Posted by: Jeff - 2005-05-27, 04:09 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (30)

Available at the wiki site

2005-05-26 :

Added NavigationArrows? element to the skin file to display a hint for how to navigate through the list of cities if there are multiple entries. Note that the skin.xml skin file has been updated as part of this.

Added a button to add a new area code to the list. Any changes made to the list only apply to the current session and will not be in the list when GBPVR is restarted. The layout of this screen is specified in the weather codes skin.xml file.

Added a button to remove the current area code from the list. Any changes made to the list only apply to the current session.

Download of map is now independent of download of forecast. One can fail and the other will work; display of forecast will happen as soon as forecast information is available

Added a few new weather codes to the list of know types so that fewer weather conditions will display as “Unknown”

The current conditions will now display “Unknown” for pressure, humidity and UV index rather than blanks if no information for these fields is returned from msnbc.com.

When using multiple area codes, the left and right arrow keys will now wrap around to the beginning/end of the list

Control R (the red key) will re-download the forecast. Note that a download in progress dialog will not display while this is going on. Instead, the old forecast will be shown up until the point that the new data is available.

My Network Places Browsing Not Working
Posted by: UncleJohnsBand - 2005-05-27, 01:33 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Sub...I identified this problem in the MVP form a little while back. I see you still can't (or at least I can't) browse My Network Places when trying to add folders to the music library.

Is it me or is it a bug? I have no problems drilling into My Network Places outside of gbpvr.

where does the "record" box for the tv guide get its size/pos?
Posted by: reven - 2005-05-27, 12:27 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (7)

where does the option "record" in the tv guide when you select a show get its size and position from?

im using a skin with resolution 852x480 (suppose to be 856, but i wrote down the 16:9 size wrong, and to lazy to change, anway), in the "recordings" screen if i go to manual recording the black rectangle is drawn and centered but if i go to "record" in the "tv guide" only the first 720 pixels of the image is drawn, ie the right of the rectangle is cut off.

a few of these things seem to get there size/pos from other places in the skin, like the live guide uses the popup from the "tv guide", which is annoying since for live tv i have to use 720x480 otherwise it gets cut off by my tv (the image becomes larger than the display, ie its painted offscreen on the right), but in the tv guide i can use 852x480 so can fit more info, and i centered the popup box for the tv guide, but when its displayed in the live tv guide, some of it is painted offscreen and to the right.

better explained with the screenshots.

  GB PVR Newbie Wishlist
Posted by: corinthos - 2005-05-26, 10:02 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (14)

First, thanks for such a nice program.

As a new user, I have found that I'd like to see the following (minor) features added:

1. hotkeys for muting
2. option to hide the titlebar from the tv window (sort of like how you can
do with WINTV2000), so all you see is a slim border all the way around.
3. lower CPU utilization if possible (not sure but it seems GB PVR seems to
stutter when multitasking (i noticed this while watching TV and playing
a game and while holding down the scroll bar when viewing web pages.
In each case, the audio and video in GB PVR would be cut off here and
there. I also had WINTV2000 running at the same time on another TV
tuner card in the same machine, but it didn't show this stuttering problem
when I compared them side by side. So that's why I suspect the CPU
utilization of GB PVR could be improved. But maybe the source of the
problem is something entirely different, I don't know.
---
4. I don't know if this feature is already available, but I can't seem to get
any sort of on screen menu to show up while viewing TV, aside from
a display of channel and current time at the bottom of the screen.
Would be nice to have a menu on there as well to access the functions
of GB PVR.

Thanks.
