  Duplicate Stations; EPG Listings Missing
Posted by: rjackson - 2005-05-24, 05:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

My cable company (Rogers in Canada) recently reshuffled their channel line-up. Zap2It did the same so their listings are correct. I redid the channel set-up in gbpvr to try and get things working.

I have tried to set up gbpvr to use my PVR150 card's tuner for analog stations and the digital box for digital stations.

The cable companies new line-up now has the analog stations (i.e. channel 2 to 99-ish) mirrored digitally (i.e. channel 102 to 199-ish). The station names remained the same. So channel 6 is CBLT and channel 106 is also CBLT.

Here's the problem. For stations where this duplication exists, the listing is missing from gbpvr's tv guide. So channel 106 has a listing, but channel 6 does not.

Is there a solution to this? Have I set-up something incorrectly? Or are the duplicate stations confusing gbpvr or zap2it or both?

Thanks.

Rob

  Corrupt mpeg file SOS!
Posted by: groover km - 2005-05-24, 02:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi all -

I've got a serious problem that hopefully someone can help me solve - I recorded a 'season finale' show last night that I can't play the final 30 mins of! AaaaRRGH!!!

Recording info:
Duration - 2:00hrs (split into 2x1hr timelslots; comskip started running on the first hr while the 2nd hr was recording, if this matters)
Quality setting - High
Filesize - 4.5GB (approx)

Problem:
File will not play/ FF/ Skip past approximately 1:30hrs; attempting to do so will skip back to the start of the file. I know the whole show was recorded, because if I open it in WMP10, I can move the slider to the end of the file and see the credits - it just won't play.

'Fixes' attempted so far:
Tried simple demux / remux using TMPGEnc. Result: same as above.
Tried creating new PS using PVAStrumento. Result: same as above.
Tried creating AVI using VirtualDub (getting desperate by this point; it was 2am!). Result: loaded the MPEG, but crashed before completion.
My wife is going to try burning the MPEG to DVD today while I'm at work - yeh, good luck with that, hon.

I suspect there may be some curruption in the file, either in the audio header or GOP/ timestamp structure (?), but I'm not sure (PVAStrumento reported something along these lines, but I'm not at home right now to recreate)

Desired Result:
I don't care at this point what the problem is or how it was caused - I just want to play the file! Also don't care if this means mpeg2, mpeg1, avi, play on the MVP or the Desktop, use GBPVR or anything else.... yep, I'm that deperate.

Can anyone advise me on the best way to solve this?

adaptec + object reference not set to an instance of object
Posted by: zefram - 2005-05-24, 11:41 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I cannot get gb-pvr working. Other tv programs work, so my drivers is setup correctly.

I have a adaptec videoh pci (2410).

This is what I did set:

Capture Sources:

Recording source: Direct recording plugin - Adaptec Videoh Pci, South africa, Capture Device #1, Internal Tuner, Cable, Medium Quality

EPG Source - XMLTV Plugin
Why is there no option for "no EPG source"? I don't think there is any EPG provider in south africa? Sad

Channel Changer - None (this is only for external tuning right?)

Added 2 channels.

Playback: Default Settings
Directories: Default Settings
Plugins: Removed All except Recordings, Live TV, Exit
DVD & Remote: Default Settings
Channels: Default Settings
Misc: Default Settings

Please help,

  Playing Files From 2nd HDD
Posted by: HardcoreRaver - 2005-05-24, 11:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hello, this is my first post so please be gentle.

I downloaded and installed GBPVR last night, I do not yet have a tuner card so was planning on using it purely for playing MP3s. I have all my music saved on the D: partition on my PC, when I go to play anything the program only looks in the C: partition.

Is there a way to change it??

I also have a home made IR reciever which I was using, with limited sucess to run Winamp. Has anyone used this software with such a device, maybe using Girder.

Any help apriciated.

Sapphire Theatrix: I haven't got sound
Posted by: gaspika - 2005-05-24, 10:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I don't know how and why but I haven't got audio in live Tv mode only picture (and also in recorded shows). Is there a way to fix this? Could the log file help? Other applications work normally like PowerCinema and BeyondTV. But I would like to use GBPVR! It is the best (I can use xmltv)!

Other question: I have a vertical black bar about half cm on the left side of the picture. (At present I cannot post picture.) Is it a driver issue or something else. Does anyone have the same experience? (PAL version.)

v0.92.8 "Live TV" no capture source was available
Posted by: starfire - 2005-05-24, 10:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,

I see in the change log:-

- Changes to the behaviour of when you try to view live tv and no tuner is available. You can now choose to view one of the in progress recordings.

So, I schedule a recording which is in progress, then from the main menu choose "live tv", but I then get a pop saying "no capture source was available to enable you to watch the requested channel".

Is this still expected behaviour or shouldn't it switch me to whats being recorded?

Thanks!

Problem using fixed channel, external tuner
Posted by: criticalhippo - 2005-05-24, 08:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

Firstly, I'd like to offer my thanks to sub for providing this software for free - I'm really impressed with it, especially after battling with MediaPortal and its release instability for many months.

I've got an NTL box that I'm capturing the RF out from using my Hauppauge PVR-150. I have a redeye serial device to change channels on the NTL box, which works fine.

I've configured gb-pvr (downloaded as file gbpvr09112b.msi) to use fixed channel, external tuner, and the constant channel is set to 57, which is what the NTL box outputs to. Fine and dandy - gb-pvr records and outputs audio/video correctly like this.

However, I have one major issue at the moment that I was wondering if anyone could help me with (if you haven't stopped reading after such a long build-up).

The channel that gb-pvr is trying to change to when it's selected in the guide is the one that presumably bleb has assigned. Thus, for BBC1 it tries to change to channel 33 or something, rather than channel 1, which is what it actually is on the NTL box.

I've tried setting these channel numbers on the channel tab of the config tool, but it seems to make no difference at all - the bleb ones are still used.

Are there registry entries I can change or something?

TIA

Hi. GB-PVR works great. One major problem; My tuner (Hauppauge pvr-500)
came with no remote control. I have been able to figure out how to change channels and volume using the keyboard. Please tell me how to fast forward,
rewind and pause tv. Many Thanks, Marvin

:o
I really enoyed using this application sub. Reven I really enjoyed your insight and you great plugins. The reason I am leaving is because I have got back inot to hacking my tivo. This is NOT a downplay to anything or anyone on this forum, I have a mvp and the things i want are just limited to much for me, so i am selling them and using my tivo for Muti-Room Viewing, as it can handle ac3 etc. I just want to say I really thank all of you for friendship and insight on everyhting that gbpvr is all about. This by far is the best NO-charge program on the web today, enjoy yourself. even though i will not be around that much still does not mean i will not stop by to see what everyone is doing. Sub thank you so much for your great work and allow me to use your program, wish all of you the BEST...
