this was going to be released as 3.2 but sub added video queue support which meant i was able to add way more things to it, so its 4.

ps i forgot to add the "edit" button for virtual root and external players (ill do this later).

As always, I suggest you back up any important files in case of problems upgrading. I try to make the upgrade go smoothly, but with millions of different combinations of hardware and software that are out there, its bound to go wrong for a few people.

Stick with the standard skins for now, because it'll probably take a skin authors a while to update there skins for compatibility with the new version.

- After 18 months, I'm now sick of looking at the blue skin background, so I've created a new one. I've also changed the layout of the menu for the blue screen. They're not a great match, but I've left the buttons the same colour and shape as before so that this default skin should still work with all plugins.
- Added initial support for audio file types other than MP3 on the MVP. I've tested mainly against WMA, but other should work as well (I have tried .m4a and a couple of others). This will transcode on the fly to MP3.

I dont wont to have to code around the specific quirks of each of these.
- Added the ability to specify the maximum number of recordings to retain when performing a reoccuring recording.
- Rewrote "recordings" screen. Still fairly similar to the original one, but much more flexible skinning. Also added a 'whats new' button for showing recording from the last week.
- More changes to the DVB scan progress. .
- Added a Play All option to the video library and API for plugin developer to use video playlist. Fairly simple support, once it gets to the end the current file, it'll move to the next one in the list, and so on until the end of the queue is reached. Before you ask, there is no mechanism to jump back to the previous file, once a file has been played it is removed from the video play queue.
- Fixed a bug that could cause live preview mode on the Hauppauge PVR USB2 to have no audio.
- Fixed a bug that cause an 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' error with Live Preview mode when using the Intervideo NonCSS MPEG decoder.
- Added a 'None' EPG plugin option for when you dont intend to use an EPG.
- Fixed a caching bug with the built-in web server.
- Fixed a memory usage bug in GBPVRTray.exe.
- Fixed a bug with MPEG2 recording on the LifeView TV Walker.
- Fixed a bug where FF/RW on the MVP when would jump to the start of the video when used past the 4GB mark in the file.
- Fixed a bug the could caused playback of in-progress recordings to fail where non-english characters were used in the filename.
- When you cancel a single episode of a season recording, it now wont try to schedule that recording the next day.
- GB-PVR Tray application now shows capture source name.
- Bitrate control now working on the ATI 550 Pro devices.
- Now if press the 'record' buttton in live preview mode, it'll switch to timeshift mode and start recording.
- Fixed a bug with BDA support when using multiple DVB cards of the same type. This is known to have caused problems with Hauppauge Nova-T, but may also have affected other types of device aswell.
- FM Radio now works on the ATI 550 Pro. The LAME MP3 encoder filter to be installed for this to work. You can get this free from http://www.elecard.com/ftp/pub/directsho..._dshow.zip.
- Fixed a few problems with timeshift mode live tv. These problems were mainly affecting BDA users.
- Added a few speed optimizations for those with large lists of recordings.
- Live Preview mode now works on the XCard, but you must have the deinterlace setting set to 'encoder pass-through'.
- Added new HaupBlast.exe, which can be used to control the Hauppauge PVR150 IRBlaster via the ".exe channel changer". If you're using Live Preview mode, you should use this method instead of the built-in "Hauppauge IR Blaster" plugin, which has issues with being shared by both the client and recording service.

A while back I posted that GBPVR would crash after waking from standby. I decided to use hibernate instead, and it is no longer crashing, but now whenever I wake from hibernate, it will take an average of 8 minutes from the time i hit Live TV to when it will actually go to Live TV. Same thing happens when I hit watch from the TV Guide menu. All other aspects of the program run fine, including watching recorded shows, etc.

Any idea what is going on? The only way to fix it, is to restart the computer. Restarting the program or the recording service doesn't help.

"I get trailers for some movies to show the family. mainly if it is something interesting that I might take them to see. What I do is;
1) Go to the regular apple site to view it.
2) View source of the web page and find and select the actual URL for the file. (simular to http://images.apple.com/movies/wb/t...and-int_480.mov)
3) I open quicktime player and <File> <Open URL in new player> and past that string into it. Then <File><Save as> and pick make movie self contained.
4) Then I use TMPGEnc to reencode to MPEG2 at a high bitrate (7000)so no reencoding artifacts show up.


It wouild be great to automate this, and tie it in to the theater listing plugin! Just brouse a theater, then look and say "What the heck is that movie, and hit play trailer!!!!!"

Does anybody know what the maximum MPEG-2 capture bitrate is using GBPVR with the ATI 550 Pro?

it would be nice if the selectors for net/fm radio were composite images like they are for recordings.

Ok, I'm about to invest in some sort of remote GBPvr solution. I'm not sure which way to go. I'm looking for input from anyone who wants to offer it.

Background:
My GBPvr is located in the living room. Its directly connected to my home Theater system and TV. I want to be able to access my recorded TV, movies, and MP3/WMV's in other area's around the house. Whats the best solutions?

I have considered three options. Obviously the MVP is top on the list.
However it has some drawbacks. It only natively supports MPEG streams so "server" must transcode on XVID on the fly. I have a lower spec'ed machine for my PVR so I'm not sure I can get it to work.

The next option is a second PC configured as a "GBPvr" Client. I have already tired this with pretty good success. Live TV, recording playback, music it all works very well. However if for some reason the Client cant connect to the recordings directory, but can connect to the recording service, your recordings database is history.

So the third option is a wireless video/audio trasmitter. Attached to my PVR or a switchbox before connects to my Home Theater. I could send the video and audio signal to another TV anywhere in the house. Advantage: moveable, no wires, same remote can be used (lots of these devices also act as IR to RF back to IR extenders). Disadvantage: uses the same interface as primary GBPvr so no one can watch a different recording. X10 and Radio shack have this type of product. Radio Shack

So any thoughts? Has anyone used the X10 products that bundle a PC remote? I"m sure with a Girder Plugin they can be made to work but I have not tried this.

As long as it's there, the system tray helper icon thing could have a menu option to launch GB-PVR.

I used the software recorder plugin to make my non-PVR WinTV card available to watch live TV, but GB-PVR still considers it a source for recording. A checkbox and flag in the config?

Very impressed that it all fit together and worked. Hauppauge should do so well.
