Thinking of using a small touch screen mounted in the wall in the kitchen (somewhere) to access GBPVR. Anyone any experience of how the touch screen would integrate/operate?

And the picture quality is a little disappointing. My live tv has that computer look - you know, like it's missing a frame here and there, but it's not jerky. It's like someone did a 3:2 pulldown, and then back to it.
But that's ok - cause the recorded shows is what I care about.
I taped a "Family Guy", and the first 2/3 were awful. Weird distortion when anyone moved, or a quick pan. The last 1/3 was great quality - don't know why. That gave me hope.
What settings do I need to look at/change from default?

I know this has been done to death, but I am just curious -

In Graphedit, all the contents of the ...hauppuage\mediamvp\transcode directory show up. I'll be the first to admit I haven't the faintest idea what they all do, but as I always seemed to have better avi performance under the hauppauge software (even if it did redefine the word 'basic' ) I was wondering if it was possible (or even desirable) to rebuild the graph identical to how the hauppauge software handles avi's?

I seem to have hit-and-miss performance with ffdshow, and when I turn it off the graph is rebuilt with Divx filter. I know this codec is what hauppauge use, but I still have performance issues - so what are they doing different?

Anyone got any ideas?

How does GBPVR hand the mpeg stream to the MVP? Is it a pure muxed stream read from disk, or does it first get demuxed through dshow filters and the individual streams sent?

I've got some files that show up with no duration information, and I'm trying to figure out why.

They're mpeg1 files with vcd encoding/muxing, so I expected them to just work.

None of my mpeg2 files have this problem.

I'm not sure how this plugin is actually supposed to work and needed some help.

I copied the dvdlist folder and programs on my root c drive.
I put the skins and plugin in the right spots in the gbpvr directory.
I doubleclicked on the "htmlgui.exe" file and registered.
I enabled the plugin in the gbpvr config application.

Does the xerces-c_2_3_0.dll have to be in the plugins directory?

The "mydvd.xml" file has 4 movies in there and they do show up properly in gbpvr.

How do I get more movies in there automatically or is this a manual thing? After opening the htmlgui.exe file, what do I do next? I was hoping it would just download from imdb.com.

I read through posts and saw people saying to change from the us. prefix to the www. prefix which I don't understand where exactly to do this.

Do I need to have other plugins also to use this? I'm using "my pictures" plugin and "my videos" already.

By the way, I think gb-pvr is incredible. My whole family is amazed at how well everything works. My problem now is that I'm running out of hard drive space because I use it so much.

I had to temporarily free up some space on my recording drive, and after I was finished I moved my recorded shows back into my default recording folder... However, now gbpvr does not recognize the episodes... When I click into the "Ready" tab, some shows are there, and some are not... Additionally, of the ones that are there, none will play.. They all read "Failed" in red text. Is there a way to get my shows back into gbpvr? Is it generally not a good idea to ever remove shows from the recording drive?

I have written software that allows you to control GB-PVR (and any other PC based PVR program, I suppose) via Bluetooth on any Series 60 Symbian phone. It works by getting a creenshot of a window (specified by the user in an app on the GB-PVR PC) and sending it to a mobile phone. It is not too slow, a few seconds on each screen update. You can zoom, scroll about and move about. Possible uses? For being lazy If you're eating dinner in the other room and wanna quickly schedule a recording, then it's cool! You can also have it in "Pure Remote" mode, which means you don't get any screen shots of GB-PVR but you DO send commands. In this sense it acts like any normal remote control, which is quite cool as it's your phone as well! Useful for anyone who always loses the remote, but never your phone !
Anyone have any interest in this whatsoever?
As GB-PVR reads everything in XML (?) I could work on integrating an XML parser for it and a GB-PVR 'plugin' for ]my software (the tables turn!). This would make controlling GB-PVR much quicker, but as it stands, it's generic to control any window you specify in the Server app.
Currently you can send Up, Down, Left, Right and Enter, using the phone's 'joystick', and Back using the 'c' (Cancel?) button on the phone's keypad. But it'll only take me a day to add any other buttons needed. What I will add to it shortly (after other Uni stuff has finished!):

Send the colour buttons (via menu)
Numpad will work exactly the same way as numpad on a remote
...anything else anyone wants to add??

Two questions:

1) How do you handle the path to it?

I see ones like this: {run(..\vtplus\vtplus32.exe)}, but what is it relative to? Ones to WinTV stuff look like this: {run(wintv2k.exe)}

2) Where do you put it?

I want to happen in Windows only, and not in GB.

The purpose of this is to be able to use the Exit (mapped to ShutDown plugin), and reopen GB.

If I wanted to take the EPG data from Zap2it that GB-PVR downloads and put it on a CD, where is this data stored? Would it be possible, for example, to download Zap2it stuff on one computer, burn it, and put in on another computer (and have GB-PVR recognize it)? I know this sounds dumb, but it's the easiest way to ask this question (I'm actually going to use the data in a network situtation- hopefully).

EDIT: I know XMLTV can do this - I want to do it with Zap2it if possible.

Im using a twinhan DVB-s card on xp and just downloaded and installed the twinhand latest software.

Then installed GBPVR, installed the nvidia decoder, rebooted.

Its downloaded the EPG channels but when I goto Map digital channels to EPG channels I get the following error message

The microsoft mpeg-2 demultiplexor does not seem to be available on your machine. BDA support will not worth without it.

Ive done some googling but to no avail. Can anyone out there help?? Please :-)
