  Cannot skip during record-playback
Posted by: filipcza - 2005-04-27, 03:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Almost everything works now, there is still this one problem..

if I start to watch show at the same time when the show in question is still recording, I can't use skip feature. The playback starts ok, but on the OSD, where it shows how long the recording is it shows 00:00:00.

I have tried to look into the logs but can't see what the problem is..so here are few clips and maybe you can help me:

-----------------------------------------------------------------

This is from gbpvr.exe-native.log:

gbpvr.exe.log: What are those event codes?

So the playback starts ok, and I can watch it, but I can't use skip. And this is while I'm recording the same show that I'm watching(recorded shows->pending->play)

Thanks for any advice you can give me

Mini-guide tries to change channel twice
Posted by: digiwave - 2005-04-27, 03:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

When I hit the Green button and use the mini guide to choose a channel, GBPVR send the IR channel change twice in a row out the USB-UIRT. My satellite receiver does not keep up with two channel numbers being sent so fast and tunes an incorrect channel.

All other methods of changing a channel such as choosing a channel from the TV Guide, allowing a recording to change the channel or typing in the channel number from the remote work correctly - the channel number is only sent once.

Is there any way to stop the mini guide from sending the channel number twice?

GB-PVR version - 0.91.12, USB UIRT Drivers - 2.6.9.3

  MVP Screen Size Plugin
Posted by: Ron22 - 2005-04-27, 01:20 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (8)

I have a new plugin the lets you adjust the MVP screen setting from the Config utility. It was a slow day at work Big Grin
I sure some day Sub will get around to adding this to the main config but untill then this should help those that do not want to edit the config.xml file.
Download here
MVPScreenPosition.zip
If someone can tell me how to add it to wiki I will upload it with the very small source code.

Just unzip the file and install in the plugin directory.
1) Start the config.exe app.
2) Click on Plugins
3) Click MVP Screen Position
4) Click on Setting
5) Edit the setting and click OK
6) Click on OK in Config.exe
7) Check your TV
Repeat as need to get just right for you.
It does not matter if you have it checked or not it will not show up in GBPVR menu.

  "Failed to locate GUI server"
Posted by: jerry430 - 2005-04-27, 03:45 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

I have been using GBPVR on my PC for several months. Due to my computer illiteracy, this forum has been very helpful in getting it running. I just bought a MediaMVP and connected it directly to my PC using a crossover cable. I followed all the instructions including disabling the DHCP client. The GBPVR continues to work on my PC, and the MediaMVP works perfectly on the TV using the MVP software. However, I can't get GBPVR to work on my TV. I've stopped the MediaMVP server software and set the GBPVR config "number of servers to autostart" to 1, 2 and 3, but no luck. I've also opened the GBPVR MediaMVP server manually, but still no luck. The TV screen reads "Failed to locate GUI server". Since it works using the MVP software, I'm assuming that I've configured the GBPVR incorrectly somewhere.
Any suggestions?

Record and watch a show (Same time)
Posted by: Doz5 - 2005-04-27, 03:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi,
When I go to the tv guide and select a show and click record, can i watch that show same time I am recording it?

If I go to the pending recording directory and select that show, GB hangs or not doing anything.

I have two PVR150 and I know that I can go to live TV and watch it but if I am recording another show at the same time I am not going to be able to do it.

So to clarify, is it possible to record and watch a show at the same time with the same capture card?

Thank you.

  DVD button on MVP
Posted by: Doz5 - 2005-04-27, 02:55 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hello,
Does the DVD button should show on the MVP (TV)? I can't get mine to display. I looked in the config module and made sure that the show button is checked.
When I open GB-PVR on my PC it shows the button but when I go and check it on TV it doesn't.
The reason I am trying to do this is the ability to play PAL and NTSC DVDs on my TV.

Is there something I can try to resolve this?

Thank you.

  TV Guide task.png
Posted by: daphatty - 2005-04-27, 02:48 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

So I found myself playing around with the BlueMCE skin and decided to make a better (IMO) task.png graphic for the TV Guide option on the main menu. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like.

I got the graphic from the media section of the TV guide website. I then dropped it into PS, cleaned up the edges, enlarged it, and added a subtle drop shadow.

EDIT: Thanks to tipstr who jogged my slow brain into action. Winzip... DUH!

  Diamond Multimedia Xtreme TV PVR550?
Posted by: Steve Schumsky - 2005-04-27, 02:14 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Does GB-PVR work with Diamond Multimedia Xtreme TV PVR550? Also, how does this card rank with other cards (Picture Quality, Speed, & etc.)?

Thanks,

Playback choppy & no sound in GB-PVR & WMP, but fine in Media Player Classic
Posted by: ratatosksv - 2005-04-27, 12:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

When I record a show using GB-PVR, if I try to play it back in GB-PVR or if I try to play it back by opening the file in Windows Media Player, the video is very choppy/jumpy and I get absolutely no sound. However, if I try to play the same MPG file in Media Player Classic, it works just fine.

Now, this seems to not be a problem with GB-PVR, but with my computer itself - When I record video in the Hauppauge WinTV 2000 software, it plays back just fine in the WinTV 2000 program and in Media Player Classic, but is similarly choppy & without sound when I try to play the files in Windows Media Player.

I have a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 150 running on an Athlon XP-M 2200 in a computer using the nForce2 chipset (and the built-in GeForce4MX graphics chipset). I don't know if this is relevant, but watching DVDs works just fine in GB-PVR, and I have never run into problems like this playing files in Windows Media Player before (whether they are mpeg2, avi, xvid, divx, matroska, etc.)

I have tried changing the software decoder settings, but it hasn't solved the recording playback problems. I tried replacing my DirectX 9.0c quartz.dll file with the 9.0b one (as suggested in the stickied thread in the support forum), but that also had no effect.

I've searched through the forums, but haven't found any solutions yet. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this problem?
