Just did a fresh XP install, as well as reinstall of GB-PVR to an empty directory (had Hauppauge Remote control probems, but they're gone now).
I'm using the lastest build of GB-PVR, PVR-150, Hauppauge's Beta MPV software (services disabled), XP SP2, and the server is a dual-Xeon box with 1GB.
My question is, while using "Live-TV" what settings in GB-PVR do I modify so that a channel-change happens as quickly as possible, without the summary info overlay on the bottom of the screen & the red timeline overlay on the top of the TV display?
I have the impression that the last few updates of GBPVR are responding very slow, especially with the mvp's. My whole computer slows down and sometimes doesn't respond.
Having got GBPVR working great with normal TV, I wanted to try to get it working with my old set-top digital tv box (came as part of the ITV digital package in the UK), using the PVR-150's blaster to change the channels on the box, which is a Pioneer DBR-T210GBS. on the config program I chose the Hauppauge plugin as my changer, and noted there wasn't a settings option, so am I right in assuming that I have to set the blaster up using the Hauppauge util?
I have tried the Hauppauge util (latest version), and none of the Pioneer codes seem to work. I also tried the Pace codes after seeing a usenet posting suggesting they might be the same.
Is there any way to capture the Pioneer codes (I have the original remote) and configure the blaster to use those? Alternatively, I found that RedRat has some codes in xml format, any way I can use those?
First things first... Thanks Sub for a great program
Ok, I've been using gbpvr for about 2 months, I seem to have a problem with the epg only having 3 days worth of programming. I know from Zap2it's site that they have 13 days of programming available.
When I first started out with gbpvr i was getting all the programming, but now I'm not. I am using version 0.91.11.
Is it possible to map (right word?) the menu button on the Hauppauge 45 to work as the menu button with DVD? I understand that there is info about keys and stuff in the wiki, but it is kinda vague to me. Anyone have a simple explination on how to do this would be great. I mean, I see the menu = home, but what does that mean? Can menu = something else? Can I make a key on the remote = eject? That is a software command.
Installed the MediaMVP last night and was able to get things running with the GBPVR server. Big problem though, the playback is brutal, really choppy and slow. I tried both hardwired and wireless and had the exact same performance from both, which actually leads me to believe it is something else then throughput of the network. Anyone else have similar experiences 'out-of-the-box'? As well, i have the exact same issue with LIVE-TV as well as video playback. I am praying it is just configuration. I am using a 2.4Ghz Celeron with 512MB of RAM, nothing seems to be maxed out, so i am at a loss....
How about an option to select a default source that plays any time that there is no other sound source in use (i.e. LiveTV, DVD, Music) The default source would play anytime that the user was a the home screen, weather, etc. and no other sound source was active.
This is about the ability to hit record while watching, and being able to leave the show w/o ending recording. I asked about it before, and just wanted to see if this was going to be add/brought back in the next update.
If there are a portion of people who don't want this, maybe it would be something that could be asked as an option ("Quit In-show Record on Exit: y/n")
I ask again because I found another occastion where it would be helpful. I was watching something last night just before going to bed, and decided I wanted to see the whole thing. Just hitting record would have meant leaving the TV playing all night.
Lately, while watching a recording on my MVP, my computer would enter sleep mode in the middle of a recorded show....Anyone had similar experience and know how to correct. GB-PVR log does not say anything about it..Going into sleep mode was working fine for months..the only thing different that I did recently was to re-install the GB-PVR software with the same updated version 9.112b so I can fix my recording status panel...when I click on the GBPVR tray icon, a listing appear with 6 capture sources stating the same thing: Tuner 1..When I attempt to close the panel, it crashes and I have to shut down the GBPVR tray icon..scheduled recordings still work in the background...By the way, reinstalling did not help..
Using latest version of GB-PVR, BlueMCE2 skin, dual PVR 150, Latest beta version of MVP software and Winxp.
