I realize this software is in the early stages and I really appreciate it, however:
I don't know about you guys, but there's no way my wife would be able to figure out the intricacies of PriorityRecordings vs. regular scheduling. It would be nice to have a unified front end that would handle both types of scheduling and offer some feedback.
Right now CDKScheduler does its thing, but you have no real idea what decisions it made. You see programs it chose to schedule on the grid, but you don't see what it skipped.
Some things I'd like
*Programs that did not record due to low priority appear as yellow on the show grid
*When you select a yellow show you are prompted to override this one time or all times. If you choose "all times" it will advance the priority appropriately
*If you attempt to schedule a show already in the system it will explain why it isn't currently being recorded and ask you if you'd like to modify the settings so it WILL record (all channels/ all showings / record duplicates). This will help prevent a hodgepodge of season records AND priorityrecordings.
*If you manually or standard-schedule a show, it checks priorityrecordings and tells you what shows will not be recorded
*A CDKScheduler alert function. Instead of just going ahead and scheduling a show, it alerts you of upcoming shows meeting your criteria (keywords, show title, actor, etc.). You can then click on the show, see what shows won't record if you select it, and choose the function
*TOO MANY BUTTONS! Let's make "Disk Space" a low profile graphic on the main screen. Maybe vertical bars showing available space. Even better, how about a bar in Guide2J showing when on the time line you'll be out of space?
I hope you don't mind all the suggestions! I really like it!
after much playing about with different drivers and settings, and repeated reading of these forums, I've finally got GB-PVR working!
...and it's *so* much better than Win-TV - thanks Sub
My only problem is that whilst GB-PVR finds ITV1, ITV2, Ch4 and E4 when it scans, there is no picture or sound. I know that this is down to the signal - WinTV doesn't even find them.
My PC is connected to a wall-socket by a cheap-and-cheerful 10m Maplin cable (about £4.99's worth ) I'm in a block of flats with wall-sockets, so changing the aerial itself isn't an option. So, my question is, would upgrading the aerial cable and perhaps fitting a booster help?
I've done some reading and opinion on the booster seems to be divided - some think they help, others say that they boost the noise too, and as such can actually cause more problems....
The cable upgrade seems a logical first step, but do you think it will make a real difference?
I don't know if anybody out there can help me but I'm having a bit of a problem with de-interlacing.
I'm watching TV on an Infocus X1 projector, using GBPVR captured from a UK Sky digibox using the composite input of a Hauppauge PVR 150 card.
I haven't tried playing back recordings yet but when I try watching live TV (in non-timeshift mode) I get a very visible comb effect on any scenes with movement.
I've tried FFDSHOW but this only works in timeshift mode, and I tend to channel surf so not really an option.
I've also tried the other options in the Config>Misc>Live Preview>Deinterlacing menu, but none seems to have any effect.
Any suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Nick
I'm keeping all my recordings on an external USB drive which works great but causes an issue occasionally. I think my USB card is flaky which causes the drive to go offline. When it does XRecord deletes all my "Ready" recordings but they still show up in the videos section. Can a prompt be added to confirm automatic deletion? Either that or a GUI to re-enter the recordings. Awesome app, coming to the point of relying on it
I want to use freeview in the UK with my pvr 150 and wondered the best way to do it. I want ir blaster to change the channels..and wondered if it would do this on a freeview box.. also is their an external freeview hauppage device that the ir blaster will control.. any advice please as I need to increase number of channels to record...thanks
I love all the functionality in Xrecord, but have trouble navigating it.
Whenever I'm in a screen that pops up in front of Xrecord, like one with a program description, when I press the "back" key I feel like it should exit back one screen. Instead, it sends you back to the main menu.
To go back one screen you either have to click down repeatedly until you get to "exit" OR you have to click left repeatedly until you get to the icons on the left (but not too many times or you'll be back where you started and need to start clicking again!).
Also, I have a REAL hard time with that onscreen keyboard in FastFind. It keeps popping up, even when I'm using a real keyboard! And then I can't get rid of it! Once again, I feel like the "back" key should get me out of the keyboard, but it instead sends me back to either the main menu or XRecord (I don't remember which).
i have installed gbpvr but cannot view live tv. Tv works fine though through Wintv2000 (card is a pvr250).When i try to watch live tv i get the error message "error object reference not set to an instance of an object. i have read some other posts on this forum that suggested un-checking "use live preview mode" which i have tried and then i get sound but the picture is just green and pink squares!
If anybody can help i would much appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
