When I'm trying to watch TV it says: Yhteyttä ei voi muodostaa, koska kohdekone ei salli sitä (which is Finnish). In English it means: Connection can not be established, because object computer doesn't allow it. I click OK button and it returns to the main menu. I have Windows xp, Hauppauge Nova-T(900002) and GB-PVR v0.91.11
I've noticed that the basic GBPVR setup comes up and loads okay. However if i used a wallpaper and the supposedly plug-ins, the MediaMVP goes all the way to Loading... and sits there. It never actually goes to Starting the Application. The Server I am using is dedicated and is a 2Ghz machine with 512K memory so it shouldn't be a congestion problem.. any takes?
I tried to install PVR last night and fell at the first hurdle - I can't setup an EPG source to point the PVR at. I've followed the link to the xmltv.org site but it is severely lacking user friendly explanations of what to do.
I have a brand new HP Media Centre with MCE 2005, and I can use that to retrieve program data, but I don't know how to make the PVR use the same source - any pointers?
there has been discussion about a VoIP plugin, but that would probably take awhile to implement, so i was wondering if anyone knows of a program that would work on a htpc for this, something that can be used with a remote, and fullscreen video chat. yahoo/msn/(even icq now i think) do the video/voice chat but you cant use those programs with a remote, they're computer programs, designed for a mouse.
also anyone know of a answering machine program which is good?
I have the latest GB-PVR software and have no audio playing MPEG-2 files with AC3 sound. What is the easiest way to get it to work? I would rather not have to convert all video's to MP3, but if so what is the best freeware tool? I thought GB-PVR could transcode AC3 to MP3 in real time? If so, I can't figure out how to configure it. I have loaded AC3 codecs on my server, but no go. Any help would be appreciated.
Just wondering if gbpvr uses the above data from the xmltv listings, or if any other plugins do ? I've had a look through the gbpvr database and can't find any reference to it, but thought I'd ask before I start developing my plugin and possibly duplicate work that has been done elsewhere.
My first foray into the world of PVR's may have begun with a bad choice. I picked up the Pinnacle Mediacentre 300i. Being well aware thats its bundled software was bad (just how bad is almost impressive) but hardware looked okay, it supported capture though s-video or composite which is a plus and it came with a nice MCE style remote which was a bit of a draw. I knew I was going to replace it with either Mediaportal or GBPVR which both support it. However Mediaportal refuses to start on my PC despite all the correct prerequisites and I can't be bothered reinstalling SP2 and DX9c at the moment just to find that it still won't work.
So here I am!
I was slightly disapointed to find that the IR dongle wasn't USB or even serial but a 2.5mm jack that goes straight into the TV card. And when I say straight I mean jammed in at and angle as the socket isn't centrally aligned on the card and the PC case get in the way.
Anyway this isn't too much of a concern as I have Girder, just never have used it and don't know quite how to set it up with GBPVR.
Can I start on a positive note and say what a fantastic piece of software. I have been dabling with it for a while for Mp3 etc through MediaMVP and this convinced me to buy a wintv card from ebay.
My system is as follows. Windows XP Pro, Hauppauge Win-TV 909 version with TechnoTrend latest BDA drivers. I now have the latest version of GBPVR install (as of last night). I am using the Intervideo BDA Mux
My problem is that with the latest version I now get flawless video recording (was previously jerky, unstable and GBPVR crashed when switching channels), however the audio doesn't work. Initially (after new install of gbpvr) the audio was just delayed by approx 3 seconds in Live TV and recordings, now it starts straight away with the picture but is all garbled, occationally the audio starts with the picture and works fine for a few seconds and then gets all garbled again. Any help would be appreciated.
On a side note the TechnoTrend application works fine. Though i do remember that when I first installed GBPVR (previous version to the current one). It kept complaining that the CyberLink / InverVideo Muxes where not installed. It was only after I had downloaded the trial version of WinDVD Creator from intervideo that it accepted that the muxes where present. The intervideo mux files are appart of the TechnoTrend install so they should have been inplace, so how can I point GBPVR in the direction of the TechnoTrend versions. I have looked under the Audio / Video Codecs in Device Manager but no InterVideo products are reported.
