OK, let me give some background on what I'm trying to do so this will make sense. I have a Sony Wega 27" SDTV(NTSC) that I am trying to hook my PVR box up to. When I started this project I had a few goals as to what I expected my PVR to be able to do and I have managed to get all taken care of with one exception; I absolutly will not except de-interlaced output on my TV. In my mind, de-interlacing drops the quailty down so low as to make the project pointless.
Anyway, to acheive this goal I went out and got a Matrox G400 Dual-Head, which as far as I can tell is one of the very few cards that can output interlaced video correctly. I have tested just about every PVR software out there and GB-PVR is the closest thing I have found to letting me set this thing up the way I want it. I've gotten it so close, but there are just a couple of things that I can't get right.
Right now I have the G400 set-up in clone mode with the DVDMax feature turned on. In theory, what this should do is display the GB-PVR menu on both the montor and tv but when I go into any video mode, the DVDMax feature should kick in and display the video in a fullscreen-overscan mode, and I have had some success with this by setting the de-interlace mode on my decoder filter to weave.
Right now, Live Preview looks just like normal TV, Timeshifting mode looks "good enough" and DVDs are beautiful. However, when I go into the "recordings" or "videos" mode and try to play something, not only does the DVDMax feature not kick in, but the output is de-interlaced even though I've got the decoder filter set to weave. This seems to indicate that the "recordings" and "videos" mode build a separate filter graph without taking into account what is specified in the playback settings.
So I guess what my questing boils down to is: Is there any way to control how video is displayed in the the "recordings" and "videos" modes?
Here's some extra info: I've tested lots of different decoders, the one I'm using now is the Cyberlink decoder that comes with PowerDVD 6. I've turned de-interlacing off by going into the configuration menu in PowerDVD, and by changing the properties of the "Cyberlink Video/SP decoder" in GraphEdit to Weave.
Any type of solution or suggestion would be welcome. There really isn't much that is over my head.
How about a cool little feature that allows you to see two channels (assuming you have two tuners) at the same time. A small picture within the larger picture. Is this possible??
It seems that from all the treads on fast forward and rewind that maybe it works for some? Is it something I should keep trying to get to work, or does it just not work for anyone? Skip works fine, I just have to make sure I let it finish a skip before doing another, or it does the same as ff, and that is lock up. Is this being worked on?
hi, i have a problem with the myVideos-Plugin (last version from the wiki) and the language.xml-file:

when i rename the language.xml-file so gbpvr can't find it, the plugin works. could it be a missing entry in the language-file? if you need the file, you can download it from here .

I've installed GBPVR. Can't get it to scan channels for Nova T. No Matter...quite happy with digiguide and Win TV as is.
Want to use the MVP with GBPVR. But the remote control doesn't appear to work. Only select, play and stop. Everything else causes a black screen.
Surely the remote should work out of the box with GBPVR ??
How can I tell the program to not record a show that I have set up to record but at the same time keep the recording settings for the future?
I have a show setup for tomorrow through the Advance menu. It has recorded the show for the past couple of weeks without any trouble. However, I do not want it to record tomorrow's show; but I want it to record next week (I have it setup for every thursday at 1900 on a specific channel). I tried to edit the show through the Advance menu moving it from Thursday to Friday (with the intention of changing it back to Thursday after the show ran on Thursday). However, when I ran postUpdateEPG.bat I received an error and the recording.log was blank. I traced it to a 00 in the date field in the priorityrecording.xml file. Once I manually corrected the date field I was able to run the bat file but the show still showed up in Thursday.
If there is not an easy way to skip a show, I think this would be a nice feature.
I've been looking into purchasing a second capture card for my PVR. The Win-TV 150 seems to be the most popular choice, I just find myself struggling to decide if I should get the standard flavor 150 that comes with the remote and IR Blaster, or if I should go with the MCE version. Anyone know of any compelling reason(s) why I should go with one over the other?
I've got 2 tuner cards (PVR-150MCE) in my PVR machine. I know I can only record 2 different things at the same time (or record one channel and watch another with timeshift), but can I watch a show I previously recorded with GBPVR even if I'm recording on 2 different channels at the same time I want to watch the old recording?
Just wanted to say, I got a PVR150 to add to the PVR350. Spent a few hours configuring, and it works nicely, recording 2 channels while watching a prerecorded 3rd.
Few things noticed that might be of help to others in the future.
a) GBPVR - when the 150 had no signal coming in, an error of Failure to playback file. (could this be the cause of my 300i crashing the recording service with bad signals?)
b) 150 - while the svideo cable was plugged in (with no signal), the card wouldnt pick up composite signal.
c) The composite signal was composite 1 for me. The 350 its composite 2!!
d) GBPVR the 350 shifted to becoming device #2 and the 150 was device #1. If think down to the slot order, 5 and 4 respectively (in device manager properties). (when the devices were mixed up, all sorts of strange goings on including losing tvout!)
e) Hauppauge selector wouldn't switch the source, had to rely of GBPVR to test.
No other complications. I like. Now to figure out how to get the "auto" source selector to work.
Okay let me get this outta the way I am new to the PVR scene having just installed my Hauppage 250 PVR card and gbpvr software.
I have attampted to install the IMDB & dvdlist plugins.
I have so far managed to be able to get my movies to list in gbpvr but after selecting the genre and then the movie - all I get is, "no IMDB entries found".
I have used the dvdlist exe. and have input my movies and in the section where it says "link" have input the URL to the corresponding movie from the IMDB site.
There was not much documentation on how to configure/use this plugin.
