Hi. I have been having a problem lately when recording shows especially from the UK channels BBC1 and ITV1, where the recording will skip for seconds or minutes, multiple times within a recording. It often happens when recording the news, and this morning it happened again, when recording Songs of Praise. The recording should have been 40 minutes long, but in fact it is only 19 minutes, with many skips within. Any ideas why this happens? I have broken the log file into two parts, because otherwise it exceeds the maximum size for forum uploads.

Will the NextEnd and NextEndMon utilities be available for use with V5?

Having problem with some TV channel not displaying correctly in there full 16:9 aspect ratio here in Sydney Australia. They have black bars down each side so its more like 15:9 aspect.

Channels in question are 9Life, 9GO!, SpreeTV, 7Flix, 7food network and openshop on 7 network. All other channel from what I can tell seem to display correctly in the full screen 16:9 aspect with no black side bars. As do these channels on a regular TV. Just not when watching on PC using NextPVR software.

PC Setup:
TV tuner is Sony PlayTV,
Software is NextPVR (latest version)
OS is Windows 10 Pro.

I've also delete all channels and rescanned but that did not fix the problem. Anybody else experiencing this or have any ideas on what is causing the problem?

In V4 if a .ts file is transcoded say to an .mp4 then the .ts is deleted, the database entry stays and the recording can still be played.

Is it envisaged in that V5 will be able to do the same? At the moment, if the .ts file is deleted, then the entry disappears from the recordings list.

Need help with auto EPG update. Followed the instruction in https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...mp-Zap2xml to create update.bat, which is

In Settings>Channel, if I press "Update EPG", this batch runs, creates a new .xml and updates the EPG.

But it fails Settings>Misc2>"Auto Update EPG". After the preset hour, nothing happens. There's no log entry around this hour. How to fix?

I have been using OTA for years. NextPVR in the past few, which I love.

Something has happened to my local reception in the past several months. Don't know if it is the trees growing taller or an issue with the broadcast stations. Anyway, it is an issue and I am considering switching back to FIOS.

I think am going to wait for the new Silicon Dust Prime 6 to come out before I make a move.

I understand I need a cable card for the device. FIOS charges $4.99. I did a search and am not finding any alternative sources where I can just purchase the card. Am I stuck with paying FIOS or can the card be purchased somewhere?


Should NPVR be able to record from all 6 channels (once the driver for the new tuner has been developed of course )?

Are there other alternatives to the HD Homerun?

2 of my channels provide 12-hr EPG over air. Can NextPVR pull OTA EPG twice a day?

I came home Thursday night (8/8/19) about 23:15 and found that the V5 test server had crashed. Unfortunately, since the log didn't get flushed, the .3 log in this .zip doesn't show the actual crash, so probably isn't too useful.

And nothing in the Event Log nor C:\Temp\.

Also, I know that I wasn't running the latest version. I've been busy with an extra job for the past week, so haven't been keeping up.

I'm just posting here to mention that I ran into this problem in case others see it. I can try to reproduce later in the week.

I just successfully setup NPVR with my IPTV service. I'm using m3u and xmltv files created by XTeVe and with the help of a guy that has some Linux skills (i'm a noob at a lot), I am running a daily script that updates certain channels that have name changes on a daily basis (like MLB, NFL, PPV etc...) The channel name has the event for that day/week. The script gives the channels a unique ID, so the I can keep the same channel number (but update the channel name/event for that day)

I was excited to see NPVR working so quickly with the Kodi addon. The next day I realized that the m3u doesn't get updated daily, so I searched the forums and found where @sub recommended to someone to run "nextpvr.exe -m3u". Although that worked, It kept the old channels with now expired channel names (day before's event) and added the new channels, but a the end.

I'm trying to figure out a way to cleanly update the channels (names) while removing the old ones and putting the updated channels name in their original order. (if that makes sense). Is there some sort of update channel names box that I'm not seeing?
