I am soon going to move to a new house and will have only satellite. I want to eventually have 4 satellite receivers feeding into 4 capture devices using GB-PVR. What is the status of satellite support with GB-PVR? What issues will come up and what equipment will i need to make this work with GB-PVR?
I have a Hauppauge MediaMVP unit and one of their PVR-150s. I have seen problems(stuttering/lockups) when trying to playback a video to my MVP *while* GB-PVR's Recording Service is recording a program. Is this beyond Gb-PVR's capabilities? I am using the latest version og GB-PVR.
I have a XP Pro workstation running on an AMP Athlon XP3000+ processor and typical Maxtor 160GB 7200rpm HDDs (9 ms access time). So my hardware is reasonably powerful.
I am thinking of delegating the MediaMVP playback to another PC in my home. So one PC (with the PVR-150) will have the sole job of recording, other PC will stream recorded programs to the MVP. Anybody do this yet? Tips appreciated :)
When choosing to record programs using TV Guide, how can I select what folder the recordings are saved in? I'd like it to offer me the the same folders that I created with the My Videos plugin, but there are no "settings" for the standard TV Guide that comes with GB-PVR.
So I guess TV Guide uses the location entered for "Recordings Directory" from the Directories tab of the Config program? Then it creates a folder named with the same title as the program to be recorded, then lastly writes the recorded MPG file to this folder. AND the MPG filename is also the name of the program. So if I selected to record a program named "Program Name" from TV Guide, it would store it in x:\Recordings Directory\Program Name\Program Name_date_<starttime><endtime>". Why does it create the extra folder - I'm confused about this?
If you're having GB issues, look at your background processes.
I had issues of program studdering and a random freeze (after fixing same issues for separate reason). It turned out, in my case, it was Diskeeper doing smartscan defrag.
If you have a PVR only box, you can really cut back on things your system uses and does during times of "low activity" (of which it seems most GB activities are). If your sys acts up, try doing a ctrl+alt+del and see what services and programs are running, and if there is high system activity even after you've stopped GB.
I just installed gbpvr a few weeks ago and I'm loving it. The one problem I'm having right now is when I'm in time shift mode and I try to rewind it or fast forward after a pause, I lose all audio. I have to hit stop and go to live tv again to regain sound. I can pause/un-pause as much as I want to with no problem.
My setup is not state of the art: I'm running an Athlon 2400+, 512, 80/20gb hds, with a 150MCE. I am still using the motherboard sound, so I suspect that might be part of the problem. Any other obvious things I'm missing?

Hi everybody. My question is: Is there any way of shedule recordings with less than 10 minutes precision?
I mean, to start a time at 10:54, for example, and stop it at 11:12. I'm doing a lot of probing with postprocessing and transcoding and it's a bit slow to schedule recordings from 10 minutes.
better dvd support similar to a standalone dvd would be nice
features like
- jump to title
- jump to chapter
- onscreen display of time (total time, total time remaining, chapter time, chapter time remaining).
- slow
- subtitle on/off (not sure if this is already available)
- shuffle
- repeat
- angle
- audio (not sure if this is also already available)

1. CDK Scheduler (PriorityRecording) schedules and records duplicate shows. Here is an excerpt from my PriorityRecordings.xml file:

I have played with it over and over and I cannot get it to ignore previously recorded/scheduled shows.
2. It appears to be case sensitive in its search.
3. the Xrecord keeps writing a file with "paddding" in it (note 3 d's instead of 2 d's )
4. Xrecord also writes some 3 gobbledegook characters at the beginning of the xml file - but this doesn't appear to break the PriorityRecording or itself.
5. Sometime ago I had to remove my "capture source" and add a new one. Well that is now listed as source 2. I notice that the Xrecord interface defaults to 1 even though I only have capture source 2.
The interface looks fantastic, and the xml file recording capabilities look absolutely awesome. I do have the latest copy of the software (as of yesterday's download) and still something is glitchy in my setup.
ok in the new my videos (if you havent been paying attention) ive added "Actors" to it, which lists all the actors you have a movie/tv show/whatever for. this info is grabbed form imdb.com, which also provides a photo gallery for most actors, now i can make my videos download this aswell when it downloads the rest of the actor info, but the lookups are taking a while now, and this will make them take even longer.
