For the last at least 3 weeks my shows have recorded but have lacked sound. I have attempted to uninstall and re-install the software several times with no luck. On my last attempt I did a complete re-install and now I can no longer get the EPG from Zap2it to load the channels. My subscription is in tact and channels are edited to around 70 of them. When I click "update EPG" it says it is contacting Zap2it, then about 2-5 seconds later says "saving new channels" then exits with no channels appearing. I have used this program over the last 8-9 months with no problems until the last 3 weeks or so. Any ideas? Thanks

having some problems getting some mpeg filters installed and working for a dvb card to record tv.

So far i have tried the following, each time uninstalling:

1) Installed intervideo windvd creator - gave recordings with audio at least 1 sec out of sync

2) Installed Cyberlink Power Cinema - would only record a few frames every minute and very garbled

3) Got hold of seperate mpgmux.ax and cldump.ax and registered - these still give me the "You will not be able to recording correctly untill you ...." message

4) Tried the k-world download, but it only had cldump.ax

Has anyone got any ideas, or will anyone send me the files they have working.

For those who want to take a look at the new skin i have uploaded to wiki, however my time has been short this week, and have not been able to change alot of the icons etc. Alot of the icons are bas off Reven "Me" skin. Thanks Reven. Also I hope to have new icons and Some new things in the days to come, so this is not by far finished, but thought some people might like to try it out. Any suggestions are welcome. Like i said if you find some stuff like pop-ups looking not finished i will finish those in a few days. So enjoy the preview release..

GBPVR-TIVOSKIN

I have comskip happily marking commercials and they are skipped during playback. How do I use the resulting text file to create another mpg file that only contains the show without the commercials?

i just got a geforce 6600 so stopped using my 350 and now using vmr9, and i tried to use teletext, enabled it in the config, but i have no idea how to access it. searched the forum and the wiki theres like no info on this. so how do you use it?

I have mentioned this before, but I'm writing to make it more clear, and see if there's anything I can do to change this behavior.

I have two tuners. I'm generally configured to pad recording 1 minute before a show starts, and 2 minutes after. This _really_ helps these days, with NBC and ABC screwing around with start times.

However, GB-PVR acts funny when I have two shows right against each other.

For example, if I have an 8-9 show on channel 2, and a 9-10 show on channel 3, then GB-PVR never utilizies both tuners at the overlap time. Instead of recording from 7:59-9:02 on tuner 1 and 8:59-10:02 on tuner two, it records from 7:59-9:02 then changes channel and records 9:02-10:02.

(Actually, I think _this_ particular behavior is new: I think it USED to do 7:59-9:00 then 9:00-10:02, but with .908, it switched to this.)

Now, I can understand GB-PVR throwing away the padding time if it would cause a program to be a conflict, which is actually how it used to act. I still wish it would use two tuners if it has them. But its behavior now is odd: it actually creates a 2 minute conflict that it could resolve by using the other tuner.

Does this make sense?

If I actually have two programs scheduled at the same time (say, two at 9:00-10:00), it does the right thing. The described behavior only shows up when a program comes immediately after another program. This has caused me to lose the starting two minutes of shows.

Is this something I can change in the config file?

Is there a way (such as with $agetv) where duplicate shows already recorded will be skipped?

For example, here in the US, TBS plays “Family Guy” twice a night.  But on some nights the show airs at say 10pm and the same show will air again at 1:30am.  Then again on some nights it may air at 10:30pm and the same show will air again at say 2:00am.  Different times on any given night but always the same show twice each night.

The only way to make sure you record it is, “Record season”, because it may come on at different times on any given night.  However, “Record season” will also record it (the same episode) again later that night.

I thought that zap2it included a unique serial number in each show.  Is it possible for GBPVR to check if it already has that episode recorded and skip it?  That would be an awesome feature.

Or maybe I’m missing something, and am doing it wrong.

Thanks again for a great program.  It has greatly enriched me and my family’s lives by allowing us to watch TV together on our schedule.

Sub, haven't tried the .90 series yet, but will probably try this coming weekend. Question I have is, that I have noticed that even though the following lines are specified in the ini file for .2313:

AudioSampleRate=48000
AudioChannels=2
AudioSampleBits=16


That the AudioSampleRate in the recorded file is actually 32000 instead of 48000. It doesn't currently seem to honor the audio sample rate request. This is with a Life View Walker Ultra (basically a Walker MINI).

Is this fixed in the .9010 release?

Got another question for everyone.

I've got GB-PVR client server running successfully on the MVP. I even got the remote control to change channels on my DCT2224 Cable box (I can give detailed instructions if anyone needs it).

The one stumbling block I've hit though is that I cannot skip forward or skip backward while using the MVP and remote. What happens is the audio skips appropriately, but the video freezes. The one exception is if I skip back to the beginning of the particular recording, then everything works fine. This happens with both the LiveTV and with recorded video.

On the other hand, if I run GB-PVR on my desktop, the skip function works appropriately.  Any ideas out there?

okay for those who have the program tsreader..
I got it working reasonably well with gb pvr so for those who wish to try here you go.. it not perfect but works well.. I can get every thing on the dvb s t and c supported by tsreader
what you will need:
tsreader 2.5.41
vlc
gb-pvr

configure your gbpvtr capture source.. you will have to do so for each transponder
for recording source ;
I used g0700... source because I do not have it. on my computer you can use what ever you want.. we will do it this way untill perhaps later there will be a "simple capture source"

epg source:
use xmltv guide and download the four or nine day guide with tsreader. update and uncheck the channels that do not belong to that transponder. channel the channel number to equal thr proper channel number for those channels..

channel changer:
use .exe changer pluggin configure
set your tsreader path and use this in the param

-i -v {channel} 2 12224 R 20000 11250 0
-i allows only one instance of tsreader
-v statss up vlc
2 is the configuation file for vlc mine looks like this
<IP> out=#duplicate{dst=std{access=file,mux=ps,url="C:\`buffer.mpg"}}
it converts the file to Ps mpeg and writes it to the drive

12224: is the freq
R: is the polaration
20000; is the symbol rate
11250: is the lnb settings
0: wherer or not there is 2tone
the the last not shown would be for the disqec
now your done and you can watch tv.
now simple select the channel tsreader will run hidden but as soon as you see vlc pop up, about 20 seconds you can select the file `buffer.mpg and watch tv
to change the channel just go back to the guide choose another channel it will shutdow tsreader and vlc automaticaly and tune to the new channel and you ready to watch again..
