  npvr.db3 is missing
Posted by: Mallovent - 2019-07-10, 04:05 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Downloaded version 4.x and install it. It stopped installing at the npvr.exe and a window came up. It stated: server database not found at: \\hushpc\npvr\npvr.db3. I clicked ok and it resumed the setup. I started the npvr.exe and the same message appears. I tried settings and it still appears. I can't get the program to open to reset the location and when I set up the location manually it did not work. Any suggestions?

Hi

New here - would appreciate some help.
Can someone explain to me in simple terms how to get the EPG to populate for 14 days please. And also how to change the default update time from 2am to 10pm

Many thanks

  Element Not Found
Posted by: dsaunders - 2019-07-09, 07:52 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

When trying to backup my NEXTPVR library with a simple copy command, when it hits the *.ts files I get the error message "element not found" although the other files copy without issue. I am also unable to copy using Explorer even to the same directory. It appears to read the entire file without issue and when it hits the last byte it gives the error.

This is hosted on a local NAS, using an NTFS share, which the files play perfectly and are deleted when I want them gone via the app.

I trieded stopping the NEXTPVR service in case it was locking the files without luck.

Has anyone come accross the same issue and if so how have you worked around this.

Thanks.

  Premium Channels not imported
Posted by: rosede - 2019-07-09, 01:51 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I am using the current NPVR v4.2.4, HDHomeRun Prime and RPi3 Kodi v18.x

I just added HBO, Showtime and a couple of others to my lineup. I re-scanned with HDHomeRun Setup and HDHR finds the new channels just fine, however, NPVR does not import in the new channels. Is there something different between the premium channels and the normal cable channels?

I'm in the process of re-scanning, so I don't have current logs. Scan's take a long time to complete, but I'll try to get logs as quickly as I can.

Thanks

Daryl

NextPVR for Raspberry Pi - yippee!
Posted by: martinu - 2019-07-08, 08:19 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (1)

This looks excellent. When I changed from recording on a Windows PC to recording on RPi (less power consumption for an always-on computer), I had to switch to TVHeadend which does a good job but has a couple of deficiencies:

- lack of GUI EPG (table of programmes as channels versus times/dates): not as easy to see overlapping programmes with a long list of events on all channels

- lack of intelligent handling of overlaps: it can't tell you when you first schedule the overlapping programme, only when it actually tries (and fails) to record it, which is very naive

These are things that NPVR did very well - certainly on Windows.

When I've got some time, and when my Pi isn't busy recording anything on TVHeadend, I'll give it a try.

Force retune between two back-to-back shows on same channel?
Posted by: jhyler - 2019-07-08, 05:21 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

It happens that I occasionally want to record two multi-hour shows that run back-to-back on the same channel. I know from experience that in that long a period with no user input, my cable box is going to put up an "Are you still there? Press a button" overlay sometime during the second show and that recording will be ruined. What can I do?

I've tried putting a -1 minute post-pad on the first recording and then adding a 1-minute manual recording on some other channel between the two. NextPVR won't allow it, as it apparently thinks the first show is still recording and wants to cancel it.

I suppose I could turn the entire first recording into a manual recording, so NextPVR won't do that, but creating two manual recordings as a workaround is getting pretty inconvenient. Any other ideas on how I can force a retune between the two shows? Thanks.

  Import/Export channels
Posted by: VCR58 - 2019-07-08, 04:49 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

I was wondering if there was a way to export/import channels into the v5 .db3? I couldn't find the option to do so in the web interface.

Well guys FInally a Linux version
Posted by: Darkhorseman45 - 2019-07-08, 03:38 AM - Forum: Linux - Replies (25)

Great Job on this,
I installed it on Linux Mint Tessa and works perfectly. I added a few auto start scripts and
the system runs excellent I have one question I am using the nextPvr Client the old one for Kodi
My question is when is timeshifting coming to that? I just swapped from myth tv to this to give this a try
I like it very much it is fast and responsive. One other question I am using schedules direct and when
i go to download the icons it doesn't work is it because its not finding them or do i have to download
my local ones myself either way i am happy with it and it seems to run really good on the 64 bit edition
I have a total of 9 silicon dust tuners prime editions with cable cards. My set up is a main tv server and then i
have several windows and linux clients that the server is feeding. Just want to put in my 2 cents. Keep
up the great work

Tony

Using dshow or ffmpeg as an input to NPVR?
Posted by: gdogg371 - 2019-07-07, 06:30 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (80)

Hi,

I've been scratching around trying to find an answer to this, but with no luck. Basically I have got a capture card to play a device connected to it with VLC by using the following dshow commands:

vlc dshow:// :dshow-vdev="Video (00 Pro Capture HDMI 4K+)" :dshow-adev="Audio (00 Pro Capture HDMI 4K+)" :dshow-aspect-ratio=16\:9 :dshow-chroma=RV32 :dshow-vcodec=libx265 :dshow-fps=60 :dshow-acodec=mp4a :dshow-ab=96 :dshow-channels=2 :dshow-samplerate=48000 :no-dshow-config :no-dshow-tuner :live-caching=100 --sout-keep

...using either dshow or ffmpeg, can I do the same with NPVR? I know you can with TVHeadEnd, but I'm finding Ubuntu in a virtual machine so unreliable, I'd rather do it all via NPVR if possible.

Thanks

  Sat>ip
Posted by: Kay Diefenthal - 2019-07-07, 07:13 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (17)

i think the current state of Sat>ip is not bad but there should somethings implemented too

in the Rtsp stack is the session timeout ignored
the Session Timeout param can you get from the RTSP Setup Response
and this timeout param need you for an Keepalive thread who send an RTSP Options to the server so knows the Server that there is an client is listen
without this thread means the server there is no one that listen and close the connection

RTCP is very use full to look for connection infos

RTCP APP hold informations for the tuned frequency wich tuner/ frontend , how strong the Signal (Level Quality) values are and is signal present locked
sure RTSP Describe Response hold this infomation too but not all server support ways some use RTCP others use RTSP

RTCP Bye send by the server and the client should than stop all Threads RTP RTCP RTSP
Servers send this RTCP Bye packets if they should reboot
