It would be nice to have a plugin for the gbpvr to update the EPG (tv listings) on demand just like the weather plugin. I dont keep it running all day and sometimes I miss the update. I would like to do it myself but my programming skills are still in its infancy. A good samaritan that could help?

I'm almost ready to release a guide replacement.

I've worked with Jorm and KingArgyle to ensure compliance with the CDK scheduler.

My best estimate is the guide will be ready in a week.

The guide will feature:
Fast execution - if you running GBPVR on a p800 with 128ram than this is important.
Being able to schedule to CDK and Base scheduler (through Fast Find)
FF / Shirt Right - Page Right
RR / Shift Left - Page Left
Ctl Right - Day right
Ctl Left - Day left
PageDown - Page Down
Page Up - Page Up
chanel + enter - Go to the channel
Ctrl+y - Multiple custom guide support

I have done my best to keep the same skinning parameters as the base guide - to ensure that all of tipstirs great skinning would work on this guide replacement.

Future goals:
Front-end in the config app to create multiple guides (currently you will need to edit a file)
Color codes for genre (zap2it)
Filters by genre (zap2it)
Watch recorded eposides from the guide
Watch from the guide (need sub to give me an interface)

My GBPVR v 0.90 seems to have gotten a little over zealous in recording. I can't use the LiveTV preview mode, so I am always using the timeshifting mode. It seems to be recording any show that I have had on liveTV, or at least many of them. If I leave the computer on all day on LiveTV, I get quite a bunch of shows. I will try rebooting and see if that clears the problem, and if it does, I'll post again. Its also making multiple files for some of the shows. And one show that I wanted to record came in multiple parts and with the wrong name.
On a separate note, I had set up some recurring recordings, and tried to cancel them, but every time I restarted GBPVR they were there again.

I am trying to find out what needs to run at startup so that my MVP automatically connects to GB-PVR. I would also like GB-PVR to automatically startup on my PC when I boot up.

I know that the Hauppauge stuff runs at conflict, so do I need to disable it in msconfig?

Can someone take me through what needs to run and what needs to be disabled?

Basically when I boot my computer, I want to be able to see GB-PVR in full screen on my monitor and then the same interface on my TV (through the MVP of course).

I have GBPVR (.9x) with a PVR-150 calling the InterVideo Non CSS Decoder for playback using vmr9. When replaying a recording or when in timeshift mode the quality of the video play back is poor and includes some stuttering. Artifacts occur on both LCD monitor and TV (Card: Nvidia GeForce MMX 440). I do not have the same issues with WinTV or play back of the Mpegs in Real or WMP. Spent 4 days on this now, and believe I have tried everything posted here to fix including:

- Updating bits per second captured for live tv and medium quality (Variable 6500 to 10000)
- Turning off preview mode
- Using old and new copieds of native utilities dll
- Installing klite codecs (first removing all existing)
- Installing new drivers and software for pvr-150
- Installing new InterVideo Decoder from Hauppage
- Installing WinDVD 6 and using as the playback mechanism
- Using cyberlink utilities as playback mechanism
- Sharpness registry setting to 7

I think this sums it all up, system details: Win2k, 2Ghz P4, 256M, 120G 7500RPM HD, ASUS motherboard. I am using very good cables and eliminated all splitters into card to see if this was an issue. Know problem is not my video card as playback with WMP works great. Issues occur on both the Coax in and the composite in.

Understand from what I have read that GBPVR just calls another utility to playback the mpeg. So the problem is not actually GBPVR but the software I have installed, or how GBPVR is interacting with it, but can not find the source of the issue to resolve.

Any help or suggestions are most appreciated. Would be happy to send or post logs, if someone can direct me to them, search did not come up with anything that looked correct. Really like this software, just need to get over this one issue.

I've got 2 PVR-150s in the server. I noticed a few recordings have sections where the playback is very fast and choppy for short stretches of time.

My guess is that the system may have slowed down during recording when I copied a video file to a different computer so I could burn to DVD. I don't remember for sure if I was doing that at the time of the recording. Could this cause the 150 to not be able to save to the disk fast enough?

If that is the likely cause, is there any way to do a file copy to a different computer that goes slower so it does not interfere with the recording?

Don't know if this is possible or if this is a good place to post this wish. Is there a way to have a quick link to show 'your posts' what would show the threads I have posted into w/o having to have tracked.. not that I am using tracked posts as I don't know if it does like other forums I'm on, email storm

Hi FF and rewind does not seem to work on my system it seems it rewinds or fast forwards for a second then starts playing back normally without audio i then have to hit the skip forward or backward button to get audio again. Is this a known issue or something i have set wrong?

I just d'loaded latest DVD2MPEG plugin, as well as the required DVDDecrypter, BeSweet & MPlex(part of Cutterman). I ran CONFIG.exe and entered all the paths for the above utils. Then tried to rip my first DVD. It generated a .MPG file that has the complete video, but audio is silent or missing.

I did d'load the latest of all the above utils. Should I be using older versions?

I have attached the DVD2MPEG.log file. Any ideas?

Hey everyone,

First I wanted to say that I just downloaded and installed .90 on our new PVR and we both love it! Even the wife thinks it's cool!

Anyway, I have a problem. My TV (cheap APEX) has a horrible amount of overscan that produces a quite noticable "zoomed in" effect. It's really easy to tell while browsing the mini guide, you can't even see the left three letters of the descriptions.

Is there a way to tell GBPVR that the size of my screen is smaller than it thinks? I suppose that I could run it in windowed mode, but that would require a lot of messing around (and since I don't have a dedicated mouse and keyboard for the PVR, it's rather hard). Is there a setting in the skin files or something like that?
