I am a new user of GB-PVR and I absolutely love it. I would like to make a few recomendations for the next version. I think it would be great to add some sort of automatic aspect ratio selection. I have a widescreen monitor and unfortunately many dvd's come in the 4:3, so it would be nice not to have to switch it back and forth. Also it would be good to allow you to select the aspect ratio for live tv. My final request is something that i don't know if it could be done, but I have a tv set up as a video mirror of my monitor. DVD's show up on both monitors, but I would like for live tv, and the menu's to show up on both as well. Your product is absolutely awesome though, and it comes at a price that nobody can beat.
1. Ability to schedule key word searches. Can search on either Title, Sub Title, Description. (Integrated from AddReOccur by Jorm and KingArgyle).
2. Can specify a CaptureSource other than 1 now. Currently still only really designed for a single tuner system. Multi Tuner planned for the next couple of releases. See Jrock if you are interested in Beta testing it.
3. Can specify whether Duplicates are Recorded or Not.
4. Integration points for Plugin Managers. Currently XRecord v16 supports managing the PriorityRecordings.xml file used by the CDK Scheduler. All publicly accessible methods are in RecordingUtils.dll in the RecordingUtils namespace.
5. If you have currently specifed your XSD to be found through the web admin, you'll need to place the XSD in the zip in your GBPVR root directory and update your PriorityRecordings.xml file so that it points to the new location. (i.e. C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\PriorityRecordings.xsd).

I am thinking about adding an additonal card to my computer but I have no free slots. I know I can get the new 500 but I am also concerned with heat (just a little) and hate to waste my relatively new PVR350. So, any problems with adding the PVR USB2? Anyone have a setup similar to this now who would make a recommendation? And, any conflicts within GB-PVR with this setup.

You put the pc in standby (from within gbpvr) when you've finished using it.
For each timed recording, it wakes the pc up at the appropriate time (scheduled task and appropriate standby mode ?) and then at the end of the recording goes back into standby. You could also have this happen if you start a manual recording and press record several times to set an on the spot timer recording in multiples of 30 mins (does gbpvr do this like a vcr ??).
The scheduled event would start gbpvr if it isn't running, you could also have an option somewhere to tell gbpvr if you want it to do this?

i have some problems with the dutch EPG, which I extract from http://www.tvgids.nl. It used to work, but for some reason it stopped working.
Everynight I download the xml file using XMLTV, and have GB-PVR import the xml at 03:00 am. When finished, I check the EPG in th GUI, but there is no data.
I tried removing the EPG data and re-import, but that doesn't work.
I downloaded the newest version (.908 or .980...whatever it is). Recordings seem to work fine but I have no Live TV. Screen is black and no audio. I also do not see any live TV files, but I may be looking in the wrong spot. I am using Overlay and got the newest NativeUtilities.dll. Can anyone help??!!

Love GBPVR and of course as a usual newbie I have posted a few stupud emails, if only I'd check the forums more... In any case, I can say there is nothing but kindness and help in this forum, I ca't say that for other forums I've been on.

Well my requirements for the PVR skyrocketed exponentially, especially once I found GBPVR and the MVP product. And even though I'm a stickler (sp??) for HDD space is cheap.. I still wanted to get the best video quality bang for my HDD space.. All my stuff needs to stay MPEG so I can use hardware decoding on the MVP and probably once I get a PVR350, if that is what goes in my new box (see some other post on TV quality )..
So taking a DVD I performed several tests and visual quality tests. And here, finally, are the results....

RAW movie: 7368 MB
DVD2MPG: 6050 MB (picture great!
DVDShrink ISO (complete backup-movie size): 3750 MB (good)
DVDShrink ISO->DVD2MPG: 3910 MB (not so good)
DVDShrink ISO (re-author movie only): 4463 MB (no test yet)

I kicked off the re-author -> dvd2mpg when I left for work this morning.. I'll check it at home tonight and update this topic, however I wanted to get it started while I was at work.
Also, I started to create a chart to compare the quality settings from the Hauppauge book/settings and GBPVR.. I'll share that later soon as I either get an image up or HTML some code..
