My EPG will only load programs through part of Tuesday. I have run both automatic and manual updates, and it will not give me a week in advance. I am running the latest version, and confirmed my Zap2It account is current through Feb. 15.

How do I load a week again?

I have the system up and running and everything works well with my mouse input. However, how do I configure GB-PVR to use the IRBlaster that ships with the Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150?

Do I just need to configure the ini file for the remote?

I've been thinking of building a PVR, but lately I'm cheap and lazy. Anyway, since I'd have to get a tuner card for any solution, using GBPVR and the MediaMVP with a PVR-150 seems like a cheap and easy way to get started. If I go full-blown later I can always stick the MVP in the basement. I had a couple of (hopefully new) questions first.

1. Is the MediaMVP remote (old and/or new) sufficient for most or all of the functions of GBPVR? If not, what is lacking?

2. Is it easy to switch between GBPVR and the Hauppauge media (or other) server? I would assume this just entails stopping one service and starting another. I was thinking that at times I might have a Divx or Xvid file that I would want to watch using the newer Hauppauge software (unless on-the-fly transcoding is a new feature?). Is there any annoying downside to swapping, like having to reboot the MVP?

3.Another nice looking option is MediaMVP Media Center, which has the great feature of being able to play off of NFS instead of having to have a server running (I don't run 24/7 normally). If that is installed on the MVP can it still control GBPVR if I want to use the PVR functions, and then use it standalone playing stuff off NFS later?

4. Is the radio tuner in the 150MCE supported? The MCE has the radio tuner, which is nice, but the retail has the IR blaster, which may be useful for the cable box if I decide to go that way. However, I'd also have an extra remote.

5. I see at the top of the page an email for commercial licensing opportunities. Normally I like to support open source projects, but GBPVR seems like the best thing for the MVP. What's in store in the future for GBPVR? Will it remain free? Become open? I'd hate to rely on something that may lose support or availability.

Many people, including myself, asked if it was possible to watch "live TV" while recording a scheduled program, if you only have 1 tuner. The answer is, you can't watch any show you want on live TV, because while recording a programed show your tuner is occupied with that recording. But you can watch the show that you are recording (and pause, RW and FF upt to current time) in that show. The way to do this is to go into Recordings, then go to Pending. There you should see the program that is recording that you want to watch, and it should say its status is "Recording". Select that program, then select play, and voila, you are seeing that show live as it is recording. You can pause it, or go back to its begining, treating it as a video.

I've read similar postings with problems with this, but I did not find a solution to try...

Using v 23 of gbpvr.  I originally had a single pvr-150 (non-mce)configured as capture device #1, everything works great, recording/playing through media mvp.  I decided to add a second pvr-150 (non-mce) to record multiple programs simultaneously.  Plugged in the card, booted up, XP-pro found the new hardware, System Manager says both working properly.  I configured the second as capture device #2, loaded ECP, everything seemed fine.  I kicked off two recordings to test it out.  TV guide shows both recording (red), Recordings shows both recording.  Directory created for both, but only first selected show actually recorded.  Recordingservice log shows following error on second recording:

I've got a PVR-150, using cable in Canada. There are two channels that occasionally don't have any sound. Using WinTV2000 I have fine tuned both channels +2 and the sound returns. How do I do this within GBPVR? I've recorded some silent shows recently.

I get this error randomly (but, oddly, more often while watching Fox...maybe coinincidence). Something like, "error playing back file"

It's happening exactly on the switch from the show ending to the one begining. It's seems obvious it's trying to start the new file for live viewing and failing. It's just odd I don't see it mentioned often.

Not an end of happiness issue, but one I've found.

Hi there, i assume probably a couple of guys out there have TSReader
to make it compatible with gb-pvr just configure the vlc section with this setting.
<IP> out=#duplicate{dst=std{access=file,mux=ps,url="C:\buffer.mpg"}}
and simply access the buffer file. gb-pvr will simply play the file..

my copy of tsreader is on a remote computer. i simple broadcast out and then access the upd stream with another copy of tsreader on the client and write it to the drive- then access the buffer file

the nice think is about tsreader It will produce an epg guide right off the sats up to a nine day guide..

the only thing on gb-pvr part it need to have capture source called tsreader that would generate the commandline to send to tsreader..

Probably could have added to previous thread, but thought there were enough new questions here.

I'd also like to ask:

1) For people using the PVR-250/150 for input and XCard for tv-out. Are you using any kind of SFF package? I've just been looking through the Asus, Shuttle, etc boxes and they all have 1 PCI and 1 AGP slot. The Xcard is PCI, so I can't use both.

2) What are people using for SFF in general? This thing has to sit next to my TV and be quiet. I'd also like direct access to the system from my TV so I can play divx, avi etc (hopfully by "just" minimizing gbpvr and keeping it recording).

3) Assuming I can't put the xcard in a shuttle box, what is an AGP card with good tv-out. This will be a stand alone gbpvr.

4) What is the advantage of using the XCard/250 combo vs. the 350. It looks like the Xcard plays divx (hardware decode?). Can the windows desktop be displayed through the Xcard? If not, not sure I see the benefit.

5) How about the built-in tv out on the Shuttle XPCs? I'm looking at the SK83G. Anyone use this or similar with gb-pvr?
