Stop button in MAP plugin crashes
Posted by: wfooshee - 2005-02-01, 10:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I posted this on the MVP forum, didn't get any help, then discovered it happens on the PC interface as well. Sorry for the cross post; I know that's evil most of the time.

When I press the stop button on the remote while playing music through the MVP, the music stops and then the MVP hangs with "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."  Here's the gbpvr.exe.log lines from just prior to and including the event:

That looks to me like getting file data for the song, then the button press. Performing the same task on the PC, pressing STOP did the same thing, logged as follows:

Added the album songs to the queue, I let it play fo ten seconds or so and pressed STOP.

If it matters, my PC is an old Compaq Deskpro, 650-MHz P-III, XP-Pro, 384 MB RAM, humongous disk space, over 30GB free. gbpvr and plugins are current, D/L last week.

Can someone help me with this? I'm thinking I really like this plugin better than the built-in GBPVR music player, but not if it's unusable for some reason. . . . .

  TView Silver.
Posted by: kenb88 - 2005-02-01, 10:24 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hey, still mentally putting together my GBPVR ---

Went digging in my storage area and came across a TView Silver VGA to Composite/S-Video/Scart converstion box. It is circa 1999, but the updated web site is:

Tview

Mine does not have quite those specs, but it does handle up to 800 x600 at 72Hz. Now I'm thinking I can just use my low cost nvidia TNT VGA AGP card connected to this thing. Any one see a problem with that?

And with the PVR-150 card at $70 (thanks for the earlier post), this thing is getting cheaper.

Now, can any one reccommend a good PVR or SFF type case that can handle a full ATX mobo? Just need a 1 PCI and on AGP slot.

  Windows XP updates?
Posted by: Atomike - 2005-02-01, 09:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have 2 machines - regular computer & my HTPC (networked) - both need Windows XP updates from time to time. Since I use dial-up, and only have 15 hours per month, I don't want to download the same stuff twice. Can you share XP updates between 2 networked computers somehow? I have been strangely unable to find any information on this topic anywhere. Thanks for any help.

  Task image for sub menu
Posted by: Lucas_24 - 2005-02-01, 09:00 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (1)

Is there a way to display a task image for sub menus. What I mean is that I grouped all TV related tasks and plugins in my TV menu, jukebox, my music, etc in the music sub menu. Can I somehow have a task image for the TV submenu?

  hcwIRblast.dll

So close....!!

Spent 3 days trying to get Media Portal working, then saw this release that supported my nova-t dvbt card, so thought i'd give it a go - detected my card and tuned in a load of channels straight away! Excellent i thought..

I have managed to tune in the channels in the config, but whenever i try to select Live TV from the main programme, i get the following message:

Error: Unable to load DLL (hcwIRblast.dll).

I'm using the Hauppauge 45 key remote that came with the nova-t, and it works fine selecting options etc in the GB-PVR, just dies when it gets to Live TV.
Tried changing to no remote and got:
Channel tuning information not known - when selecting Live TV (although all channels are tuned in)

I've tried looking thru the forums/ googling but to no avail...

I'm using the latest release (GBPVR0908)

Problems with USBUIRT & Cable Box
Posted by: Gulla - 2005-02-01, 03:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have recently purchased a USB-UIRT so I can change channels on my cable box when my GB-PVR changes channel. I currently have a NTL analogue service using a General Instrument CFT2100 STB. I've setup a new device profile for my remote control, but when it comes to changing channels in GB-PVR, either nothing happens or it changes my STB to channel 9.
Does anyone have any ideas about what I'm doing wrong? I'll be very grateful for any help I can get.

I've posted my dat file below

  wrap-around menus
Posted by: capone - 2005-02-01, 02:53 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Probably not a new request. It would just be nice if all menus, and tv guide, would wrap at top/bottom. I know the main menu does, and I suppose it's up to the plugin people w/ others. The guide would be nice, though.

  Recordings aborted, why?
Posted by: teris - 2005-02-01, 12:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

now, GBPVR is perfectly installed. Everything works fine.

Now I've a problem with sceduled recordings.

An example:
Sceduled was "About Schmidt" from 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM.
The Recorded file is visible in the completed-list, but there are only 52 minutes.

Now, this happened 5 times.
Why does gbpvr abort the recording ?
The EPG-Update is set to 7:00 AM.

Thanks for help!

Bye,
Sebastian
