PVR-250 with new remote. Remote not working
Posted by: lumstar - 2005-01-10, 07:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hey Guys,

This is my first time working with GB-PVR. I have been able to get everything working except the remote control. The remote that came with my PVR-250 can be viewed URL=http://registration.hauppauge.com/webstore/hardware.asp#remote]here[/URL].

I have installed the Hauppauge software and this remote works in the winTV2000 software suite, however it does not work in gbpvr. My settings have the default hauppauge remote selected and I do not have direct access enabled. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which DVB-T cards and how many?
Posted by: simon - 2005-01-10, 06:09 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hello all,

I've been lurking on the forums for a few months, while using GB-PVR on my MVP. I don't currently have a tv card, but find it great for listening to my mp3 library, viewing picces on the TV and checking the weather!

I'm now at the stage that I will build a new Home Entertainment PC to fit under the TV, rather that use the MVP, as we have a new LCD TV with a DVI input on the back, and I want to be able to play games as well!

My questions relate to DVB-T cards in the UK. We don't currently have digital (Freeview) but want to get it soon.

Firstly, I want the new PC to allow me to both watch and record a digital TV channel through the PC.

If I get an external digibox, and one or two Haupaauge PVR 150s, willl I be able to watch one channel while recording another? Or would I need two digiboxes for that? If I understand things correctly, I can use the IR blaster on the PVR150 to switch channels on the Digibox?

The alternative option is one or two DVB-T PC cards in the PC. I understand that work is ongoing for DVB-T support.

I've found three DVB-T PCI cards available, the Hauppauge Nova-T, Avermedia DVB-T 771 and the Nebula DigiTv PCI. Which if any of these will be supported? If I am reading the forums correctly, the cards will need BDA drivers to be supported by GBPVR. I am tending towards the Nebula card as it supports Win 2k, and I don't really want to run Win XP on my entertainment PC, but I'm currently not sure if the Nebula has BDA drivers.

Have I missed anything here, and does anyone have any advice?

I know DVB-T support isn't ready yet, but I am quite happy to wait, as I will be buying this system in bits over a period of months anyway, and I can carry on using the MVP. Obviously my system will be available for Beta test if required.

TIA,

Simon

  Help
Posted by: jimpearceuk - 2005-01-10, 06:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi Guys, I hope this is yet another stupid newbie question....

I have a PC running XP Media Centre Edition with a Hauppauge PVR 350, everything seems to be OK and installed but when I select Live TV the Text comes up with the channel and description etc but no live pics, then the display goes back to the Main Menu, in the log again I get an EVENT CODE 1 Stop LiveTV()

Please can you tell me what I am doing wrong, I have uninstalled everything and re-installed, I have upgraded the Hauppauge drivers and the TV output is working for the menu etc

Cheers
Jim

  My Videos and removable devices/drives
Posted by: lif - 2005-01-10, 04:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I'm using external USB HDD which is mounted as \pvr\media\archive. In My Videos I've set root dir as \pvr\media. When I remove USB HDD and trying to launch My Videos plugin, it will give error message and won't work until I reattach USB HDD.

It would be extremely nice, if it remembers the last playback directory, but if this directory is not available any more, it should go one level up. I think it is possible, if plugin first checks its last postition existence. Or is there any workarounds currently active?

  My Videos DVD rip playback
Posted by: lif - 2005-01-10, 04:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have copyed DVDs to HDD in iso format and just as plain files (VIDEO_TS directory). When selecting iso, it mounts fine using Deamon Tools and starts to playback it. Menus and all works fine. But here are two isuues:

1) Can't return from DVD player to GB-PVR, exit/back won't work and no other button on remote I've tryed. Also no ESC from keyboard. What is the right button to return? Won't it be nice if it would be "exit/back"?

2) Would DVD playback also possible from VIDEO_TS directory, just copied to HDD, no iso?

  1 Card 2 sources?
Posted by: Ericwiz - 2005-01-10, 04:21 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Anyone know if you can use the internal tuner and external inputs to give you two independent sources with the pvr-150?

I want to use the internal tuner and a cable box seperately.

Have I missed something or is there option to tag/queue files to be played sequentially? ...or to create a playlist using a remote?

IMDB won't work with multifile avis
Posted by: lif - 2005-01-10, 03:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

For example in My Videos when I have file called "The Transporter.avi" it receives IMDB info. If I have splitted this file into two parts "The Transporter (CD1).avi" and "The Transporter (CD2).avi", it won't. No matter what is the separator, is it "()" or "." or "[]" or "-". Is this a common bug of imdb plugin, or just bug in my system?

  sound volume in Live TV
Posted by: lif - 2005-01-10, 03:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Always I start GBPVR it reduces the default output sound level to about 80%. I want it to be at 99%, so I could set the audio volume level from my connected amplifier, not from Hauppauge remote. Is it a bug or the feature? How to solve this?
