direct recording config/remote setup problems
Posted by: hamsterstyle - 2005-01-11, 07:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

i have a PVR-105 directly connected to the wall by a cable (no box). i assumed my source was "internal tuner", but gb-pvr hangs when i try to get live tv. should i try a different source?

also, i purchased a MCE remote for my pvr setup (more specifically, http://www.pcalchemy.com/product....1f35d). it doesnt come with drivers, as it it assumed to automatically work with MCE (WHICH i'm obviously not running). any suggestions on setting up this remote in config?

thanks for the help!

  VideoArchiver error
Posted by: PeterM - 2005-01-11, 07:17 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

I get an exception in ArchiverUtility.exe every time it finds a file to copy (immediately after the copy):

I am using the Dec. 30 release.

I can send log files if you give me an e-mail address.

Any ideas?

  Small bug in recordings display
Posted by: shfaxx - 2005-01-11, 03:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

It would appear that after you delete a show the cursor (the highlighted show) tries to go to the 4th or 5th show in the list, if you don't have that many, the cursor disappears and if you hit enter you will get an error and pop back to the main menu. It's trivial I know but just figured I would point it out. Put this one on the BOTTOM of the list.

Sub keep up the awesome work!

  Overlapping doesn't, with 2 tuners
Posted by: kevbo - 2005-01-11, 03:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have a Hauppauge WinTV PVR-500, with 2 tuners, and it is working great.

Also, I have the default settings of "record 1 minute before and 2 minutes after".

However, the program doesn't always use both tuners when it could.

For example, if I'm recording one show at 9PM, and another at 10PM, from 9:59 to 10:02, it could be using both tuners. But it doesn't In this case, it acts like it only has one tuner, and stops the first recording at 10PM and starts the second at 10PM, rather than stopping the first at 10:02 and starting the second at 9:59.

Does that make sense?

I suppose this is kind of a gray area. For example, if I'm recording 2 shows on "ABC" at 9 and 10, and another on "NBC" at 10, using both tuners in that way would make the NBC show a conflict. So, maybe in that case, the extended time could be dropped. But if nothing's scheduled to use the second tuner, would it be possible to just go ahead and use it?

It seems that the program tries to use the second tuner if possible, leaving the first free, which is cool, but I'd be willing to lose that to get the overlaps working.

Maybe an option?

Thanks,

Kevin

  Strangeness with Reoccuring recordings
Posted by: kevbo - 2005-01-11, 03:23 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I've tried to set up a couple of reoccuring recordings, and it doesn't seem to do "Record all showings in this timeslot" well.

I'm trying to record The Daily Show, for example. It originally airs at 11:00 PM M-R, and repeats a lot. So I really only want "Record this timeslot" only. But when I choose it, it schedules it at all times.

In addition, if I go into the GUI to look at it, it doesn't show up right. If I go to Recordings/Reoccurring, in the list, it says "Recording all showings in this timeslot". But, if I select it and say Update, it comes up as "Record Type: Record Once".

Thanks for any help...

  show conflicts with itself
Posted by: mikelu - 2005-01-10, 10:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I set a recurring event for "24" which aired two times on Sunday and on Monday. They showed as orange on Monday, so I went to Conflicts and resolved the first which conflicted with two hourlong shows on a different channel (should have been one). The second was still orange but showed it conflicted with itself. I went back to the schedule to Quick Record, told it to cancel itself, now get an error:

Error: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: "795098" Key being added "795098"

I restarted gbpvr and the recording service, but can't bring up the guide, it keeps giving this error.
