How Can I Automaticaly Deleteing Recordings?
Posted by: Menavex - 2004-11-13, 10:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Recording are big, and I'm lasy and don't pay attention to how much space I have left. If the hard drive is full, the recording fails.

So what's my best option? I'd like it if it would only delete the oldest recording only when space is needed. But simpler solutions would be good too. Any solution is better than no solution.

Do any of you guys know of any good free software?

  Recordings are playing in FF
Posted by: raging monk - 2004-11-13, 05:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have been using GBPVR for about a week now (great job, sub!Wink and I just came across an odd problem.

I recorded two shows the other day and when I tried to view them, they played back in Fast Forward! Very odd.... the first few seconds were ok, then it went crazy. It happened to two shows recorded on the same night. Never before or since. I searched the message board, but found no threads with the same problem. Ideas anyone?

  Video Jump to time
Posted by: tybreizh29 - 2004-11-13, 03:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,
Is there a way to go to a certain time (ie: goto 1h12 for example), I only found a skip xx seconds which is not easy to use without calculator when the amount of second is high.
Sorry I don't put all my questions in the same thread, but they come when I need to do something [Image: smile.gif]
Thanks

Posted by: reven - 2004-11-13, 09:43 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

i was watching the screen savers the other day and they mentioned shell replacements for windows, a light weight one. and was thinking well since my htpc only basically runs gbpvr (and norton) i dont need to use explorer.exe its unreliable and resource heavy. i was just wondering if anyone had any experience with these? anyone using a replacement shell? any suggestions, words of wisdoms.

cheers

  GB-PVR, X-Card, 256 colours, workaround.. problem!
Posted by: joshley - 2004-11-13, 02:56 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

I've been working on a nasty workaround for GB-PVR to enable X-Card users to have nice full colour graphics for the menu. It works along the lines of this:

1) X-Card out to Scart switcher box on priority B
2) Graphics card TV-Out to scart switcher box on priority A
3) When in menu system enable TV-Out and when not (i.e. go to watch a DVD for TV) disable it so the X-Card gets priority back

Problem... it all works (it's only an ULTRA simple program, it disables TV-Out by calling a shortcut key set up to do so via the graphics card setup (mind you, getting a shortcut-key to be recognised SYSTEM wide i.e. not just in any one Window was a lot harder than just using SendKeys!Wink), but only if you have two monitors plugged in! The graphics card (well, mine anyway) doesn't let you disable the only remaining device. Does anyone know of a way to trick Windows into thinking it has another monitor plugged in?

Alternatively someone can infiltrate TVedia and find out how on earth they got millions of colours out of the X-Card!

Gits.

Thanks in advance people!

Josh

  Problem wiht top few lines
Posted by: billshack - 2004-11-13, 01:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Some shows i record have artifacts on the top few lines.  Its only certain shows, like Seinfeld. I noticed that the commercials in between were OK. I thought perhaps it may have something to do with captions so i am going toi record something with closed captions turned on. Have you seen this problem before?

I've attached an example. Thanks.

By the way i think you are a genuis for writing this software.

Don't know if this has been noted, probably has but couldn't see it.. when you rewind in a recording it looks like it's fast forwarding but when you let go of the rewind button it HAS gone back!

  InterCodeDelay setting?
Posted by: renzema - 2004-11-12, 10:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Hi,

I saw a reference on another topic about a setting in the IR definitions for InterCodeDelay, but a search of the forums (and using google) comes up blank.

I have a new sat box, but it is a bit slow accepting IR commands.  With BeyondTV I increased the delay between numbers to 500ms, and the whole thing worked perfectly but with GBPVR, I can't get more than the first number entered.  Can someone shed some light on the InterCodeDelay syntax?  I tried just putting a line:

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">InterCodeDelay 500[/QUOTE]

in my IR definition, but this didn't seem to do anything.

Thanks in advance,

Josh
