I am trying to change channels on an external tuner using the red eye serial device (and a command line utility) but the tuner "misses" some of the digits.
The problem seems to be a timing issue with the frequency of the commands sent to the red eye device. I have logged the commands that are sent (using a program called portmon) and they appear to be correct (i.e. I change to channel 105 and the string "105" is sent).
I have definitely had this working before with a previous incarnation of GBPVR so I can't figure out what I am doing wrong - has the frequqncy of the commands changed internally in GBPVR?
This ssems to be OK now. At least the XML-Data is ok. But when I update GB-PVR, double entrys with one hour offset are created. I tryed to empty all EPG-Data, but all is still here.
I think, the 'Empty-EPG'-Button is not doing what it should...
One solution may be, to delete the capture source, but I dont like to tune all channels over and over again.
Therfore my question: How to *really* empty EPG data?
Hi,
I just got my PVR150MCE, but it doesn't seem to work at all with GBPVR.
When I select 'livetv', I get the error:
"Error: Failure playing back file".
When I try the tuning assistent, I get:
"Connect pins failed!"
"Failed to connect pinNameCrossbarVideoDecoderOut to pinNameCaptureAnalogVideoIn"
It starts tuning after this, but I get no picture (should there be? - now it's just gray above the freqs), and no output afterwards - it just says "scan complete", and nothing happens...
All Hauppauge software is working correctly, as is Dscaler. I'm using the latest driver for my 150mce.
I've tried several MPEG-decoders, but I don't think that's the problem, as TuningAssistent also refuses to work...
First off, I love this program, it is exactly what I was looking for. Ok now to my question/problem.
I am trying to record shows to add to my video on-demand system. Everything works great, but I had a question about it. I would like to have all the movies I record under 1gb with the highest possible quality. Now I have 2 ways for doing this as far as I can tell. Â I could lower the record settings or record in high quality and encode using divx.
Now if I lower the record settings then the quality will not be as good and if I use divx on them then I have to go thru and encode every movie.
So my question is this:
What would be the best way to get 1gb movies with the best possible quality?
What is better, increasing the resolution or the bitrate for quality?
Now onto my problem. I am currently using a PVR350 and I am using the TV-Out on it. The picture looks great, almost as good as my normal live TV. The problem is that in order for me to get sound I have to use the audio out on the PVR350, but when I play music it doesn't play thru the audio out on the PVR350, instead it plays thru my normal audio out on the sound card.
Is there any way to get it to play all sound thru the PVR350 audio out?
OK I include my greek language.xml. Let me know if it goes online.
Now issues and requests, all thrown together...
1) Anybody to make a skin resembling Meedio's Pandora Box Ice Age? :-) - I tried but couldn't do anything more than change the background.
2) A little bug. If you have a mix of channels having EPG and channels that do not have (or you don't currently have EPG info on them), there is nothing to show your position. For example:
ET1 (empty nothing to the right)
NET (empty nothing to the right)
ANT1 (EPG list for the day)
if you are over a program on ANT1, all fine... if you press up button (where you go in the empty NET list) there is nothing to show you are over NET or ET1. If you press up once more, then you are over ET1, but you don't know that - you need to press down, twice to go back to ANT1 list and SEE where you are. I hope you get my meaning. There should be some indication of where you are in ALL cases.
3) There are known localization problems with some text (like "Record Every Saturday & Sunday". When are these going to be fixed?
4) Popping the on screen menu (the menu with the "pause" symbol in the middle) doesn't do anything for me. Does this work?
5) Is there instant record (while you watch)? If not, there should be. Pressing the record button while watching a channel, should start recording until I press stop. Right? (also a "REC" indication on view screen - read 6)
6) RECORDING SHOULD SHOW ON SCREEN. In all GBPVR screens! If you watch TV, there should be an indication that you are recording (so if you change channel, you screw your recording - the system could let you know and ask if you are sure). Also there should be an indication in main screen and an extra question in PVR programming, so if you select to record something else, the program should let you know that you are already recording and if you want to end the current recording. The least that should be implemented is RECORDING INDICATION, in all screens. Checks etc. could come later.
7) Buttons. What can we do there? It is very important to be able to customize the buttons. I am using Girder and an X10-compatible remote. So could there be something to help with those things (that most of us use)? Maybe a girder-message sender/receiver through ir definitions?
that's all for now - I hope I get some good feedback
