  DeletionHistoryDays limit
Posted by: Rage321 - 2019-04-28, 06:34 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

What is the highest number acceptable for DeletionHistoryDays in config.xml? I have a rule that records all pilot episodes from all time and really would not want to have previously seen episodes appear again after 90 days. I saw a post in the forum history of 999, but can it go higher?

  Renderer and Rew/FFD issues
Posted by: Rage321 - 2019-04-28, 05:33 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I'm running into an issue I'm not able to figure out.

Problem: While watching a recording, if I press my rewind/fast forward Short Skip buttons quickly, for example twice in one second, the video and all of NextPVR will lock up. This behavior happens for all Video Renderers accept for EVR. In EVR, I have no control to rewind or fast forward.

NOTE: Using the Long Skip buttons quickly produces no issues.

Mics2:
FF/RW behavior: Short Skip
Left/Right behavior: Long Skip

Config.xml:
<SkipForwardSeconds>60</SkipForwardSeconds>
<SkipBackSeconds>60</SkipBackSeconds>
<SkipFFSeconds>10</SkipFFSeconds>
<SkipRWSeconds>10</SkipRWSeconds>

Perhaps I am missing something obvious, and wanted to reach out to you guys for support.

  Anything other than .ts files?
Posted by: BobbyDing - 2019-04-27, 09:42 PM - Forum: NextPVR Android Client - Replies (5)

Hi. I just tried the android tv client. I like it. I have the recordings remuxed to mkv's which play great on the server pc, but fail to play on this client. screen goes blank. Is this expected behavior for now, or might this be an issue on my end? PC is running latest server as of today and client running on 2015 Shield.

Thanks,

Bobby

I have just installed NextPVR, run the channel list for my location OK but when I try running Live TV, I get "Unable to find available capture device(Device failed to start). I am running Win 10 Pro and a HVR-950q USB video stick. I have updated the video stick drivers from Hauppauge to the latest.
Have I missed any required setting in setup? Thanks for your help.

ver 4.2.4 100% cpu usage with IPTV channels
Posted by: Brucek2839 - 2019-04-27, 08:23 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

Hello everyone,
I just downloaded 4.2.4 on a test machine and am encountering the same I had with the last upgrade where as the IPTV channels would max out the cpu at 100%. With the last upgrade SUB suggested I use an different NShared.dll file. I tried that with 4.2.4 but it does not help. Does anyone have a fix?
Thank you for your time.

New kodi nextpvr user with some feedback
Posted by: ShadowMask - 2019-04-27, 11:24 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (4)

Hi,
I'm a new kodi nextpvr user and I'm using kodi 18.2 with the nextpvr plugin version 3.3.15 on a windows pc in the front room. I also have a nextpvr 4.2.4 backend setup on a server upstairs.

I am really impressed with how well it all works together, but have noticed a couple of niggling issues that may just be configuration, or could be bugs in kodi or the kodi pvr plugin?

  1. If I want to delete a timer I get the option to delete just that timer or the timer rules as well. No matter which option I choose the timer rules are also always removed. e.g. If I set Britains Got Talent to record using the prevent duplicate episodes new only option. It adds a timer for Saturday night (great) and Sunday afternoon when it is repeated (not sure if it should do that if I select New Only?) So, I go to delete the timer for Sunday to save the server waking and recording when it doesn't need to and I get the prompt to remove the timer rules as well. If I choose to do this or not, all the timers and the timer rule for Britains Got Talent are always removed and I have to start again.
  2. My server goes to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity. This is fine as long as I am using LiveTV or the guide or recordings, but if I go to play some youtube videos then come back to live tv after the server has gone to sleep then clicking on a tv channel does nothing. I have the nextpvr plugin set to WOL enabled, but this seems to only wake the server when the plugin starts. I have also noticed that when this happens the advanced WOL plugin also fails to see and wake the server, but using any WOL program outside of kodi (fing on my phone for example) wakes the server correctly. I have read somewhere that this is a problem with the way kodi handles the pvr expecting it to always be on? It's also worth noting that if I disable then re-enable the nextpvr plugin immediately then the server starts up again as soon as I go back to the main menu and everything else works as it should, including advanced WOL which can then see the server is already awake. I'm not sure if this is a bug with the nextpvr plugin or kodi but it would be so much slicker if the server just woke like it does when you disable/enable the plugin when going back to live tv.

I hope the above is of some use in helping improve the experience for some, I am really happy with how it all performs when it's working as it should.

Thanks for all the hard work.

*EDIT Just noticed there is a section in the kodi forums for the nextpvr plugin, so I will post this there as well. I got to this forum following the support link in the kodi wiki, apologies if this post isn't relevant*

'FRITZ!Box 6590 Cable' as "SAT>IP" device (actually DVB-C) does not work well
Posted by: _Michael_ - 2019-04-27, 09:07 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (53)

Hello,

I hope you can help me with the following issues.

  1. I can watch a TV channel but I cannot switch to another channel, the picture freezes if I try to do so. Exception, i.e. working: If I submit the "Stop" command at the current channel and select then a other channel.
  2. I have about 100% CPU "one-core" load, i.e. approx. 13 % gets consumed from NDigitalHost.exe + NextPVR.exe distributed over my 4 physical cores plus 4 HT cores (intel core i7).
At my other PC (which is planned as new home for NextPVR) I have seen the same behavior for both topics (but due to the there used core i3, the CPU load is much higher: 50%).

What can I do? Thank you!

  USBUIRTSend and ENTER key
Posted by: artmetz - 2019-04-26, 04:31 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

I'm using the USBUIRTSend.exe to change channels on my dish receiver from this post:
https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...RTSend-exe

There are 2 issues:
1. There appears to be no option to include the enter key with the channel number, so changing channels is slower than necessary.
2. I need to manually wake the receiver up each day by sending an enter key. (I did this with Beyond TV by scheduling a manual recording each day)

How do I include/send the ENTER key?
I've tried various combinations and either get a crash or error message.
Example:
USBUIRTSend.exe dish311 ENTER
Unexpected error calling UUIRTTransmitIR
(Sending a channel number works)

If the source code was available, I would be willing to add this support myself.

Recorded programs not visible in OSMC
Posted by: FrogFan - 2019-04-26, 03:10 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

Hello,

First, I understand that I might need to seek assistance from the OSMC folks. I decided arbitrarily to start here. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I record a lot of OTA TV programs with NPVR and it works well for me. I've come across a problem where two episodes of a certain TV show are not showing up in the "recordings" list on OSMC, which I'm running on an RPi3. Those same two episodes do show up in two instances of Kodi I have running under Windows, one a Windows 10 desktop and the other a Windows 7 laptop. My "backend" is the Windows 10 desktop. I've seen references to similar problems here but I've not seen any resolution. Apologies if I've missed that.

If I look at the directory that contains the "invisible to OSMC" episodes, there are many episodes of that same TV show that are visible in OSMC. There is also another directory on different hard drive that contains episodes of this program. They're all visible to OSMC. I've set NPVR up to use multiple locations to save recorded TV and have allowed it to determine where to save a recording based on available space.

I have added the directory containing these invisible episodes to the video library in OSMC. All episodes of this show, including the "missing" ones, then become visible as videos and I can view them, but neither shows up in the list of recordings for that TV show.

I'd like for these missing episodes to show up under recordings, since I want to use my library for content that I want to save for awhile. Most of my recordings are watched and immediately deleted.

I've attached a zip of all the logs in the log directory, including a zip of logs I took over a year ago. In case it's helpful, the "invisible" episodes were recorded in October last year. I didn't report this issue earlier because I thought the episodes were missing due to a power outage or something. I only recently noticed that they were available as "recordings" on the Windows computer.

Thanks very much for any help.
