I just did a first installation of NextPVR and everything worked OK except I get no details in the EPG. In the EPG settings all channels show 2 sources for EPG data but I am not getting anything for any channel. any ideas - I am in Australia. When I click on Update EPG I get a Status window show up but it appears to be compressed and I cannot see the text in the box. How do I attach a screenshot? I did see one thread with a similar problem but it has not been visited for 15 years, hence this new thread. I just updated to Win 10 (old PC started playing up and I cannot use WMC anya longer. Other alternatives like KODI are too complicated. NextPVR looks ideal but without the EPG it is useless.
Increasingly I see the availability of channels from the UK and other English language countries like Australia and NZ. I'd like to open a general discussion on the benefits of the good shows, stations on these networks. I'd like to exclude sports it's a huge topic.
I also don't think we need to discuss shows on ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, Fox, the CW and a few "Superstations" from the US, but I think there may some smaller networks that people are watching that don't get any attention.
I will start by talking about Canada. We have CBC, CTV, Global, CHCH, and a few other networks, but primarily they just broadcast shows from the American network at the same time as in the States. There are a few Canadian shows that I like, Handmaids' Tale, Orphan Black but I can't think of any that are played just in Canada that I watch.
For news we have CBC and CTV but frankly I watch those once a day for real news and stick with CNN vs Fox for entertainment during the day.
Premium TV here is pretty much the same as in the US too, with shows from HBO and Showtime making up the new content.
Is there any prospect or possibility of a native Roku client for NextPVR?
I bought a Roku 4K stick a couple of days ago and it's fab for NetFlix, youtube and UK VoD services (e.g. BBC iPlayer) and it would be fab to be able to use Roku as the single point of entry for all my TV viewing.
The only options appear to pay top dollar for potentially sub-optimal NextPVR access via Plex or Emby, support for which in future releases is NextPVR seems unclear. I'd rather give $$ to Sub...
Hi there and sorry if I look like complete ignorant (I am in fact) of this software.
My TV Tuner is pretty old and I don't have original discs or software for it.
Anyway, I managed to download latest drivers for it. Based on win properties, it is something like dvb-t2 itetech af9015 bda device.
I installed NextPVR software in order to watch live TV, but I always get black screen.
I downloaded LAV decoders just in case it was a decoder missing issue or something, but with no luck.
I've attached a log file, shopefully you will find out what is happening here.
Just Recording Error: No errors, but no data delivered. This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal.
Then
Code:
Recording Error: Device failed to start
Is the computer not waking NextPVR to record do you think?
I ask as when I go into the Channel manually it has a stream which seems to work fine and the show ts and ts map file show fine.
[EDIT]I recently changed both pre and post padding to 0, would this have had any affect?
[EDIT]Ref this thread https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...gnal/page9 I don't have a <HDHRBasePort> setting in config.xml so assume it's not needed any more.
I started doing testing against my production server running NPVR 4.2.4.190307. And it's not automatically skipping the commercials. Looking at the kodi.log, the substitution to get the media via file share rather than http is now failing (presumably because of the new encoding):

I'm going to try playing around with various substitutions to see if I can get it match and use the share.
OK, I don't know if you want all these in separate threads or just one big thread of testing problems, let me know. I just got 2.6.1 on my Windows machine, and it wasn't launching. Different error than my issue on OSX, so I downloaded 2.6.1 on my Mac, fixed the os.uname() thing, and got the same error I'm getting on my Windows machine.
Code:
2019-04-06 16:59:29.121 T:123145568337920 DEBUG: EXCEPTION: : Traceback (most recent call last):

self.XNEWA_PREBUFFER = addon.getSetting("prebuffer") // 4
TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for //: 'str' and 'int'
I fixed the error by changing lines 81 and 82 of XNEWA_Settings.py to read:
I honestly don't know if that's the best way to handle that, but it is consistent with what you were doing with converting other settings to ints. If you keep generating errors this fast I won't ever get around to testing on OSMC. '-)
I decided to give the new client a quick whirl, and even after migrating all my settings it wouldn't launch. Here's the error I got in the log:
Code:

xbmc.log(os.uname())
TypeError: argument 1 must be string, not tuple
It looks like you're trying to log some uname information, but I think the log call on line 41 of XNEWA_Settings.py needs to be xbmc.log(os.uname()[4]) instead of xbmc.log(os.uname()) . When I changed it (or remarked out the log line), it works fine on OSX. Haven't tried with Windows or my OSMC boxes yet. That's up next.
