I got the client to install. And I think that I configured it correctly. But I can't remember what my PIN is. Does the client use that when it is on the local network?
When I try to run it, it errors out. Which might be because of the PIN. But the kodi.log shows:

So I'm guessing that I may be missing a dependency (lib2to3)?
I'll try a couple more things and then shut everything down and restart to get a set of clean logs to upload.

I recently added a Colossus to my setup fed by a Virgin Media Tivo through a splitter. It started out performing well but over the past couple of weeks some recordings have been losing audio. It drops out at some random point in the recording and it doesn't come back - no glitching, it just stops. The programme will continue to play with video only and it's definitely lost in the recording as opposed to just on playback. I have checked the obvious things: replaced HDMI cables; rebooted everything; but it is still happening seemingly at random.
Obviously there is a chance it's the Tivo or splitter but I reckon it's the Colossus as when we had two recordings on the same channel separated by a 15 minute gap the first lost the audio but it was back from the start of the second and nothing had happened to the Tivo or splitter in between other than a channel blast but no channel change. When we had two recordings on the same channel without a gap and the first lost it's audio it was not there from the start of the (overlapping) second.
Has anybody had anything like this? Could it simply be a faulty Hauppauge card?

Something I've come to like on my DirecTV receiver is the 'Last 4 Channels' list - I can jump directly to any of the channels I've watched, without having to go through the Guide to get to them.
Sub, a users sent me an m3u file from his satellite receiver and I imported it and NextPVR imports it with transcoding URL's If I want to change this to mpegts is removing the transcoding markup enough for it to maintain any limit?

The new multi-platform NextPVR v5 is progressing well. At this stage I've only got a few guys helping me out with testing, and I'd like to get a wider pool of people using it.
NextPVR v5 works on Windows, Linux (x64 and Arm32 at this stage) and Mac. It is also available as a docker container, which should be usable in environments like on a NAS, or LibreELEC etc. The app currently comes as the backend recording service, and a web app. The nextpvr.exe UI will also be supplied in the near future for Windows users. For now users can interact with it using the web app, or Kodi, or the existing NextPVR iOS/Android apps, or nlite.exe.
Ideally you'll have an account on the forum which is at least 6 months old with a few posts to your name (so not a new user), and be somewhat technical (comfortable with the basics of Linux and/or Docker etc, can unzip stuff, set environment variables etc). If you're interested in helping out, send me a PM to let me know, along with some summary info (like devices you're using, and maybe what platforms you're hoping to test it on).
If you're wanting to test v5 in hopes of fixing some issues you have with NextPVR v4, then this isn't for you - NextPVR v4 is definitely the most stable version. NextPVR v5 is very much a work in progress. In the near future we'll do a public beta, when I'm happy with stability, so anyone can test it.

I've been using comskip forever to mark the commercials. I often times use plex to view my recordings and I'd like to avoid commercials there too. Comskip is good enough that I'd like to automate the commercial removal, but I'd like to keep the correct file structure, metadata or whatever is needed so Nextpvr still works correctly just using the new commercial free files.
Is there something I can add to the PostProcessing.bat file to just remove commercials and re-encode if needed. I searched a bit but most of the post were older.
Because of changes in Kodi v19 (Python 3) and NextPVR v5 (no more NEWA) x-newa 2.5.4 is the final release for v4 NextPVR and Kodi v16-v18. The good news is I have successfully ported x-newa to Python3 and it working pretty well on Kodi v18 (python 2 and 3) using the compatibility tools that Kodi thankfully provides.
The bad news is I am not going to test this version for release alone especially now that I use the Kodi addon more with v5 testing it is hard to catch some of the less frequent errors. The initial port involved removing 1000's of lines of code, removing several obsolete libraries, dead code and changing significant number of lines of code. The original codebase https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...R-FrontEnd was from GBPVR and EWA days with XBMC and lots has changed since I updated that in 2012. Going for the python utf-8 model to unicode has been an issue in some places so that is the biggest trouble spot I foresee.
If anyone is interested in seriously testing the next generation plugin, knew4v5 - called "New for v5" aka "canoe" or "new client" post here. (I wanted to get rid of the x- for years now) My preference is that testers start using it full time to trap error.s If there is enough interest I will update the repo so people can get automatic updates. I am hoping to find testers for v17 and maybe v16 too (SPMC users maybe)
