hi, i know, this skin-topic is nice to have, but not quite as important as other plugins or issues....
i am trying to add another skin to this software and now i'm facing a few problems:
my photoshop png-buttons don't display correctly. gbpvr stretches them, even if they have the same width/height as the default pictures. i don't know, why.
in the skin.xml-file in "main menu" i found, that i can set a default button-background for the menu-items. this is only used for plugins and the dvd-button. the other menu-items need a button-png. is it possible to let gbpvr display every button (in the main menu) dynamically? or must i draw every button and hope to fit the xml-settings to my drawings?
when i get along with those problems, i am sure, that i can post a new skin next week if anyone is interested :-) -> if you want, i can post a little screenshot.....
First of all, I'm obligated to say "Great program". Â I've gotten caught up in a few hobby programming challenges myself, and I must say I'm impressed with your dedication. Â Keep up the good work!
First off, I'm using a PVR250 in a 1.2ghz athlon, 256mb ram, with an MVP connected, using the new beta "server" software.
-My first wish is to clean up the FF/RW of live tv. Â On the mediaMVP, the only thing I can do is pause. Â None of the other keys work (|<<, <<, >>, >>|. Â On my PC, I can rewind, but can't get back to the "present" time. Â The >>| button on the PC gui doesn't work, and if I >>, I can only get to "0:04 behind".. After that it hangs for about 10 seconds and starts playing (about 0:10 behind). Â I often get the sound to stop working when trying this functionality.
-Pressing the Stop button on the MediaMVP while paused on live tv crashes the PC services.
-Make the MediaMVP server a service instead of running app. Â Make it automatically shut down the Hauppage GUI service if running.
-Be able to access the tv listings directly from live-tv. (on the remote, maybe "menu" accesses listings, while "back" goes to the application menu?)
-Allow for a pageup/pagedown function in tv listings.
-Be able to skip far ahead in time in TV listings. Â If I want to record a show 4 days from now, I've got to hold the right arrow key for a long time?
-(related) Be able to search for programs. Â It might sound clutzy on a remote, but my digital cable box does it pretty well. Â Up/Down changes letters, right/left changes letter position. Â Every change you make, it re-queries and gives you a list of matches from the best to worst and soonest to furthest.
-Ability to schedule season recordings with a time filter, say +/- 3 hours of the original show time. Â This way you won't get duplicates (when shows are played several times a day), but if the network changes the show time, you'll still get it.
-(Probably easier than previous), keep track of show subtitles or descriptions, and never record a duplicate.
Ok, that was a bunch, but I tried to be descriptive. Â Again, thanks for your hard work. Â I wish I could help you out, but I understand the nature of what you're doing.
The default skin doesn't seem to cope with too many enabled plugins - ie they end up going right off the bottom of the screen. Would be nice to be able to put buttons in multiple columns or (less desirable) nest similar functions (eg music library and Jukebox) into one group.
After complete frustration about the original hauppauge software and some experiments with myHTPC i finally found your already pretty impressive piece of software and thank you for preventing me from kicking the board out of the window.
One suggestion for the EPG:
I miss a possibillity to navigate fast through the EPG in form of a navigation bar with 7 day of the week.
My EPG source always supplies the programs of 7 days and its kinda long scrolling to be done if i want to prepare the recording of a show some days ahead.
Hi,
Most of my chanels looks fine and the recording quality is great. One chanel though (Z-TV) isn't geting a very good reception, is there anything I can do to fix this?
I'm in Sweden and has Comhem (cable) as my provider if that helps.
okay, a very small request... It would be nice if the GBpvr icon was used as favicon.ico for the webserver so the icon appears in the favorit listing in explore
It is an interesting feature to be able to select the recording quality. However, how do the different standard settings translate to GB/Hr and or to which profile does "standard DVD quality" relate?
I selected the best quality in the config app. However, when I initiate a recording, the default quality is medium. Can I change that?
Now that I have figured out my stupidity on getting Live TV to come up correctly, I can't seem to get a picture. I'm using an Avermedia M150 with S-Video coming from my satellite receiver. It's setup for capture card #1 and S-Video external tuner. I've tried S-Video external tuner #2 as well as some others but none work. When I go to watch TV I can see the recording button turn green and my HD light is blinking so I guess its filling the ring buffer. The FM module works fine. Am I missing something?
