I have posted here several times about issues with the OSD out with the PVR 350. I have had issues with both Intel and VIA motherboards.
Last week I broke down and bought a:
Asus - A7N266-VM
Aflon - Thorton 2.0G
All of my issues with GBPVR and SAGETV are gone. This motherboard seems to love being a PVR. I have had my system running for a week with no issues. Before this I could get GBPVR to run for 20 minutes at the most before the OSD crashed. The whole combo can be bought for less than $150 US depending on the cooling fan you buy.
Hope this help out the folks who were having problems like I was and don't want to wait to see if/when hauppauge fixed this issue.
Thanks for the great software Sub, didn't even realize how cool it was because it never ran long enough.
I got GB-PVR to work on one of my old system (and will keep using it there until I buy a barebone after summer), but now my next challenge:
I am using a Marmitek Gigavideoset to send the video-out signal on my PVR-350 to my tv. The infrared extender on the Gigavideo died (I dropped it too often I guess  ) so now I am looking at buying the Marmitek PC Remote.
In the manual they talk about Showshifter software (which I am not interested in since I don't even have tv out on my VGA card  ) and I am wondering if anyone has experience with this specific remote with GB-PVR.
If not.. can someone give indication whether this remote will work with GB-PVR? This is the remote I am talking about.
I just sent version 2.00 to sub to put on the site. Â This one contains support for skin.xml for location of the buttons and the color of the backdrop for the weather info (black area when using the default blue skin).
Hi guys, Need some Help!
I tried to install gbpvr on my HTPC (winXP+PVR350)!
After the installation-process-complete-Info there comes up directly the configuration-tool!
When i do press the OK-button it 'tries to restart recording service' but after a while it shows up an error:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.
Hi Guys,
i found this really great tool and think it'll have a great future!
What i'm missing in ALL soft (not only your's) that i found till now, is the possibility for user like me, who want to save their recordings to an external or changeable Harddisk!
(I take this Swappable Harddisk out of myHTPC and put it in my WorkingPC for the cutting and athoring process)
So what i want is: Â
SavingPath for my records should be FIRST= "F:\TVCap\"
In case that it does not exist (it is taken out or powered-off) than it should be recorded as SECOND Choice to "D:\TVCap\"
And maybe it could be directly combined with a MINIMUM-Space option! So lets say:
If EXISTS "F:\TVCap\" AND availableSpace > 4GB then take this record path first
Else ....
And this CHECK must be done everytime BEFORE an recording starts !!!!
And so, as well, it must be possible to look in serveral paths for play back! (yes, i saw as well the other thread just requesting this feature!
-----------------------------------------
Another thing is to get the possiblility to define, when programming a TV-recording, on each programming an own, maybe different quality (best by drop-down menu), so that i can use this with WinTVCap  (DVD,HalfD1,SVCD.....)
So WHAT DO YOU THINK, will it be a great problem? I really don't understand, why nobody takes care to the people, using USB/Swappable HD's with their HTPC?
P.S.:
Sorry to all english people for my bad english and mistakes. I'm german and it's really hard for me to explain my ideas and whishes in english!
I am interested in setting a GB PVR system up. My goal is to record VHS quality video to disk using a guide setup and play it back later. The realtime PVR pause/FF/rewind features would be nice for live TV but not required.
I have a bunch of spare parts lying around the house.
Which of the two motherboards at my disposal should I use?
The Hauppauge PVR250/350 are prohibitively expensive here in Canada, but the Leadtek PVR2000 board is very cheap. How is the support for this board?
I also have a LIRC compatible IR receiver and remote. Would it be preferred to buy the Leadtek bundled remote or would a LIRC compatible system be easier to integrate?
Given these components (the Leadtek is the only thing I don't have) is a simple system possible?
Wasn't sure where to post this, so if it needs to be moved over feel free.
The only way I've seen to get DVD playback working on the Hauppauge PVR350 card is under linux with a hacked version of mplayer. Perhaps some Windows dev's could look into that for a way to port that idea over As it sits right now, I know of no Windows programs that can do it. And also that hacked mplayer for linux doesn't do any hardware decoding acceleration, it just outputs the video through the PVR350. Hope that made some sense...moving on!
My idea is to Y-join (as opposed to a Y-splitter, get it?) the composite TV-Out of the 350 card along with a TV-Out of a standard video card. In theory, you could watch TV through the 350's TV-Out and watch a DVD through the video card's TV-Out. Anyone have any thoughts on this, before I tear everything apart and try it?
I've recently switched to using s3 standby rather than leaving things on all the time.
Sometimes it records ok. When it doesn't work I get the first 2 minutes or so (1:54 & 2:04). The GUI says "recording", the file is locked, but not increasing in size.
I've updated the PicturesPlugin, see Readme.txt for details, mainly bug fix, Rotate, and Zoom functionality.
Sub, I've managed to implement a slideshow (not in this version) but, by specifying requiresMoreRendering, I lose the ability to check for keypresses, so I can't start the pictures moving and also check the input for "pause". Â Can you think of (or implement) a way round this?
