Here's a couple on the wish list...
Posted by: darag2358 - 2004-07-03, 11:06 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

I would like it if pressing the up arrow key on the remote while the TVGuide button is highlighted makes the bottom button ("exit&quotWink highlighted and vice versa.  In other words I would like to be able to go from the top of the list to the bottom by pressing the up arrow, rather than having to press the down arrow several times, and vice versa.

Also, if you add too many plugins, the buttons run off the bottom of the screen. Would be helpful if you could have it automatically start a second row.

You have a fantastic product.  Thanks for all your work.

Question:  I have a Win-DTV card.  Would you be interested in letting you borrow it to make GBPVR compatible with this card?  I think having DTV available would be a great addition to GBPVR.  I think it would make GBPVR about the only PVR software that could make use of that card.

For anyone using the previous versions of GrabEPG or requiring UK TV listing information version 1.3 of GrabEPG is now available from www.rubiconsystems.com/tv/grabepg13.zip

Changes from the original version:

* Added support for proxy servers
* Added channel list updates to track the changing list available from http://www.bleb.org
* Added channel list editing to allow you to customise your list

Feedback always welcome.

Hi,

I am new to this program and was wondering if I could get some help. I have a m179 and I can't get it to go to liveTV. I get an Error: Playing back file. The gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-native.log file says:

  Some setup questions
Posted by: Neeesat - 2004-07-01, 02:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have installed your software and I have to submit it that currently is the best software around for users with EPG or not.
I have tested them all MYHTPC, Beyond TV, SagePVR, even MYTHTV and I have to say that your product impressed me.

Well done for the excelent job and all the best for the future.

Some Basic questions though:

Can it play VOB files on Hard Disk with Ac3 sound out from sound card as stereo?

How can I use the web plugin? What is the URL? My HTPC intranet ip is 192.168.0.3.

I have set http://192.168.0.3:7647 but I got
SERVER ERROR in '/gbpvr' Application
HTTP Error 404 - Not Found message.

I have installed all pluins and are realy cool. I have also set DVD playback and it starts but when this happens I can not control anymore the GB-PVR aplication like exit from DVD to the main menu or FFoward or FBackward etc.

I would be pleased if you could help

Best Regards

Neo

Failed Recordings - many but not always
Posted by: Daron - 2004-07-01, 12:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Newly installed GB-PVR on eMachines T2672 - like interface and functionality (in particular listings and live TV). However, I am seeing about 75% failure rate on recordings making it virtually unusable as a method for entering recording plan.

Is this a common problem?

  LCDs & VFDs
Posted by: John Brett - 2004-07-01, 12:29 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (37)

I have a Samsung VFD, and I'd like GBPVR to drive it (e.g. display current channel, current program, current track, current picture &c, recording y/n, time/date &c.).
I'm currently using Smartie, but that's a pain for anything more complex than a clock, doesn't directly integrate with GBPVR, and when my PC wakes from standby, it trashes the VFD display :-(

I've downloaded some code from http://www.codeproject.com which has the necessary to drive the VFD, and I've oo'd it and built some interfaces & helper classes, but the issue then is GBPVR integration.

'sub' - would you be willing to provide support for these displays?
As I see it, the primary requirement on GBPVR would be to
a) load the device-specific driver .dll (I have an HD44780 version from the codeproject source)
b) provide text relating to the current activity (e.g. current channel).
Configuration can come later, if people want it.

Anyone else - would you be interested in this?

  Zap 2 It Problems
Posted by: blueman - 2004-07-01, 06:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (26)

HI All, after much dismay and constant problems with XMLTV and the automate, I have switched over to Zap2It for GBPVR. I've got everything up and running just fine , and it shows my listings for Pacific Standard Time ( which is the last option in the selection for time zones ). However, my listings in my TV GUIDE are now showing 1 hour ahead of the actual time that they air. I would just switch to the next time zone up to accommodate for this but Pacific Standard Time is the last choice in the time zone list. Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this matter/ issue when using the Zap2It listings?

  Severe MVP problems
Posted by: Jesse - 2004-07-01, 02:59 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

My Setup:
GB-PVR 1.8L with MediaMVP server
MVP running the 2.0 (non beta) hauppauge software.
Windows XP SP1
1.2ghz athlon
256mb ram
Hauppauge PVR250
NVidia GeForce2 Ultra
100mb wired network
-------------------------------

My symptoms:
Essentially, I can predictably break the GB-PVR MediaMVP server program by pressing the Stop, Menu, or Back/Exit buttons on the MVP remote while watching recording or live tv.

When I do this, the screen goes black, I see the green (stop) icon in the top right corner for a second, then all black screen and nothing responds.
I restart the MVP using the remote, and the GB-PVR menu comes up but doesn't respond to anything.
At this point, the GB-PVR MediaMVP Server program is still visibly running, but I have to shut it down and restart it.
Then I can restart the MVP and everything works again.  Until I want to exit out of a recording or live tv.

Needless to say, this is a pain.

Also,
-The skip button doesn't do anything while watching recordings or live tv. Just pressing it, or typing a number beforehand, doesn't matter.
-The RR/FW buttons don't work during live TV.  They don't do anything.

I have a feeling my last two problems are a result of the MVP not being well aware of where it is in the MPEG.  Whenever I see the progress dialog, it always shows 0:00 and no progress.

Everything works as expected on the PC, however.  I know sub owes me nothing.  In fact, I wish this was open source so I could lend a hand.  For now, I'm just curious if anyone else has these problems.  Is there an MVP firmware upgrade I've missed or something?

Thanks,
Jesse
