  v0.14 available for download
Posted by: sub - 2004-03-15, 07:21 AM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (20)

I've just uploaded v0.14. It can be downloaded from http://www.gbpvr.com/Setup014.exe

From the change.log:

2003-2-15 v0.14
- Fixed a bug with starting playback of 'manual' recordings from the recording screen
- Fixed a bug with multiple tuner support that could cause a recording to stop and restart at the time recordings on other tuners were due to start
- The Full button on the remote (or alt-Enter) will toggle between fullscreen and window mode (only whilst menus are visible)
- The Back button (or Escape key) will now go to the previous directory in the music and video libraries
- Initial support for the XCard allowing playback of .mpg, mp4 and compliant avi files. Menus looks a bit crap because XCARD only allows 256 color OSD. A new skin should fix this. No support for the XCard remote yet. I must say, picture looks great on the XCARD - even better than the PVR350 decoder.
- I've added a new skin (green) which uses alot less colors than the other skins and is aimed primarily at the XCARD users. Its pretty ugly - but doesn't look too bad on the XCard. If someone more artistically inclined wants to donate one to replace - send me an email.
- Now using modern XP style buttons/checkboxes etc in config application.
- Lots of behind-the-scenes cleanup. Re-jigged the playback via Overlay/VMR9/VMR7. It should be more reliable now.
- Closed Captions will now work if you have "show closed captioning" selected in the config and are using VMR with Intervideo NonCSS decoder. There is no standard approach for all decoders. I will try to add compatibility with others later...
- Pressing yellow button on a song will add it to the end of the current play queue.
- Added -EmptyEPG and -OnlyEmptyEPG command line parameters.
- Fixed a bug when playing some shoutcast streams. The header was being parsed incorrectly for some streams.
- Added a config option to hide the 'Exit' button, which can be useful with the MVP and PVR350 users.
- Fixed several other small bugs pointed out on the forums.
- Added -TVGuide -Recordings -LiveTV command line parameters. These will take you straight to these screens. When inuse returning to the main menu will exit GB-PVR. This requested for those that want to integrate with products like myHTPC etc, and should help make it a little more seamless.
- XMLTV EPG Reader is now handling CDATA text, which fixes problems that some users were encountering
- Now also showing MP3 tag info in list view (previously only in icon view)

  USB-UIRT and Girder
Posted by: ibweasel - 2004-03-13, 10:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I am trying to get the Hauppauge remote to work with GBPVR via Girder. I am using 0.13 of GBPVR and 3.3.0 of Girder. Here is the problem: when I have the recording service going, Girder hangs when it tries to initialize the USB UIRT. Inversely, if I have Girder running and the recording service (or live tv) tries to change the channel via the USB UIRT, those hang.

What can I do? I'd hate to have to get GBPVR to transmit the channels via Girder, but that's lookin like the only way I can do this. If I did have to go that route, how would I send channel changes from GBPVR to Girder?

Thanks,
Paul

  Ideas for plugins

Below are some ideas for plugins. If no one decides to take these tasks on I'll eventually get to them myself, but if other developers can take on these tasks we'll see these features alot sooner.

Feel free to add to the list.

Recordings list - splitting to 3 lists
Posted by: Dai - 2004-03-12, 02:22 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Hi

On the recordings screen, I've got soooo many things listed that it takes me ages to step down to the thing I want to watch. Yes, I know it's my fault for recording so much stuff :o).

It would be really nice if you could get seperate lists of:
- Season recordings
- Available recordings
- Scheduled recordings
- and, I guess, Failed recordings

rather than having them in one list.

I Imagine simply having menu buttons down the left hand side for each type (and maybe an All button for those who like big lists!Wink.

Also, the recordings don't seem to be listed in any particular order, it would be nice if they were listed by stort time or alphabetically.

Please help me to stop wearing out my thumb!

Thanks

Daimon

  Small issue
Posted by: MaBo - 2004-03-12, 08:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,
With v0.13 I've experienced the following several times. Not major, but strange.
Often I minimize gbpvr on the computer monitor and use the interface via the pvr350-tv-out. This works like a charm. However, after having played a video or recorded a show, when I look on the tv-monitor and maximize the gbpvr window, it is black saying that video is being played on the tv-out. On the tv I can see the menu or the tv-guide or whatever.

As said, nothing critical, but strange it is.

Greetings and thanks for the great work,
MaBo

  Multiple Installs of GB-PVR
Posted by: nobody481 - 2004-03-11, 09:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have .12a installed.  I tried .13, but noticed some audio/video sync errors.  I really like the the video quality choice in .13, but want to keep .12a going for my recordings until I get .13 issues worked out.  So is it possible to have 2 different versions installed in 2 separate directories with no adverse effects?

Thanks!

  MVP not playing ball
Posted by: pbj - 2004-03-11, 08:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Looks like a great product, I'm nearly there...

GB-PVR works great on the PC.
Stopped MVP service, started GBPVR MVP service.
Turned on MVP, bingo - main menu.
Entered EPG - all present and correct.
Try any of the "play" options (mp3, live tv, recordings) and the MVP dumps and goes back to "contacting servers", shortly after the GBPVR MVP service throws a .net exception "System.ObjectDisposedException: Cannot access a disposed object named "System.Net.Sockets.Socket".
Object name: "System.Net.Sockets.Socket"."

So close, yet so far...

I'm sure I've done something daft, help!

  OSD
Posted by: Dave - 2004-03-11, 06:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Is their a way to get the OSD on live tv to come up through the remote without changing channels, just to see what channel you are on. I can do it by moving the mouse but was hoping that it was avaliable through the remote also.

v13
pvr 350

Thanks.

  Live TV in VCD format
Posted by: mamema - 2004-03-11, 11:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

i'm trying to record and live TV in VCD. Use Wintvcap profile "VCD". I'm also using intervideo css.
But it won't work. I get VMR9 cannot render file.
Is this a problem of GBVR, or VMR9, or intervideo?
The lowest resolution to record i'm getting to work with GBVR is HalfD.

regards mamema
