I sent version 1.22 to sub and it should be available soon.  It appears pretty stable now, so I will clean up the code a little then put it here as well.

I think I will be starting on commmercial skip next and let someone with more ASP experience than me tackle the web interface

It's time to give you a bit of feedback on v016 after having had some time to test it a bit. Although the general status is VERY good, there are some minor issues that I thought were good to mention to you:

Duration of recordings always shows 00 hours, even for longer recordings (already in v015, maybe even older versions)

Yellow button doesnt work for m3u playlists: I can't queue two albums.

Volume control doesnot work (music/video) although the release notes says they should work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

There is an inconsistency with the use of the pause button. It pauses video AND music playback. It resumes video playback, but music playback can only be resumed with the play button.

I can start wmp form gbpvr (custom task that also starts ir.exe and puts gbpvr in the background) to watch a dvd. However playing a dvd this way gave clicking sound when using vmr9 in gbpbr. With overlay there is no problem.

With pause/livetv the skip fwd/bwd doesn't work, though according to the release notes it should.

To conclude this post a tip:
In the current setup skipping forward and backward in video playback requires many buttonpresses (number of seconds, skip). So to skip 5 minutes (a commercial break) you first must calculate 5*60 =300, then press 3 0 0 skip.
Another strategy is to skip minutes. 5 minutes is then 5 skip.
To allow for smaller skips, parts of a minute should be preceded with a zero: so 30 seconds (=half a minute) means 0 5 skip.
I think this reduces the number of keypresses considerably and is also more intuitive.

I just tried to update from v0.14 to v0.16 (i thought it was time for an update, and see what's new, everything worked for me before, well, as far as everything can work if u use the PVR 350 tvout)
But now im stuck at configuring the capture sources, when i add one, and add the correct recording source, and EPG source. Then i close the program (by clicking twice on OK). And open it again, so that can update EPG, but when i open the program again, then the line in capture resources is gone :/. I guess im doing something wrong, cause i seem the only one with problems with this. I looked at the documentation, but that couldnt help me.

I'm not implementing it just yet, but how do you think "favorites" should work if they were added to GB-PVR?

I have just got hold GB-PVR (which looks great by the way).

I am having a couple of problems getting it going!

1) I have a Hauppauge PVR250, yet I can't select the 350 driver in the config - When I run GBPVR I tells me there is no available 350 board.

2) If I click on Live TV I get the message 'Failed to communicate with the GB-PVR recording service, this software is possibly not running'.... etc.

Any ideas?!?

I have done the usual restart, update drivers etc. but with no joy.

I got really excited when I saw this program as I have been trying to get ShowShifter to work (with no luck, as it does not fully support the PVR250).

I set the file name, hit OK all the way until the config app terminates. But when I go back into the config app to update the EPG, that field is blank and the update button gives me an error telling me it is blank.

I can, however, set the file and do an update EPG immediately and it works. The file name apparently isn't being saved

Anyone who knows me from snapstream will know closed captions are a big bee in my bonnet. I'm toying with switching to gbpvr but wanted to find out before I start if it currently supports closed captioning ?

To be specific; I record using Hauppauge PVR250's DVD Stream with 'insertCCinDVD' set. This embeds the closed caption data as a GOP user packet in the mpeg2 file. The nice thing is - intervideo + cyberlinks decoders will actually decode this data into a line21 caption display so if you can hook the line21 output pin from the mpeg2 decoder up to the video mixer filters - you can have closed captions even from the recording video. No worrying about subtitle files, vsfilter or anything like it.

SS are being anal and wont let me hook up that line21 pin - There are some issues about which line21 decoder you select (one handles odd/even fields, the other doesn't and shows garbage) but if you could allow a setting to specify the guid to connect - (registry hack or config app extension.. don't mind) - you'd make me a happy ... er. something.

In theory the MVP can also support them - hauppauge confirmed the hardware can show closed caption data on a tv but they have not written the firmware/player to handle the data and have no plan to do so. A shame but I'll take what I can get now and stick to captions on the main htpc.

So sub; can you do this already? would you be willing to accomodate the request? If you need any more info let me know. be glad to help or supply sample files to test with as you like.

I was starting to do a email reader plugin when I had a philisophical crisis. Should we even do plugins like this? Wouldn't it be better to just minimize gbpvr for a few minutes and use a full featured app like outlook? The same could be said for cd/dvd rippers and everything else that already has nice apps available for windows.

Great job with your program! I've just ordered a Hauppauge 250 to give the tv tuning a shot.

I want to ask you, what language did you develop the TV tuner portion of your program in?

Can you give me a good starting point for me to look at if I were to try to develop a similar pause/play app using these hardware mpeg encoding tv tuners? I would really appreciate it.
