  Smaller picture than with WinTV2000
Posted by: jan - 2004-02-21, 10:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi Sub

This is a very nice work, I really like the OSD on the PVR-350.
I have been looking in the forum for some weaks. Yesterday i bought the PVR-350 card.
I Installed V012a and later V013. But I got problems when changing channels in live TV. The very cool mini guide works fine, but when I pick a channel or change the channel with the CH- CH+ my PC freezes totally. I have to plug out the power. My system is not so fast,
so my question is, is that the problem, before buying at new PC on monday ? it works with Win TV2000 but with some delay.
(I got a Celeron 533, 256 Mb, Graphics SIS 620 shared memory, but the graphic card is not used to display the image on TV).

Another question is: why is the image displayed on TV a little smaller than the same channel displayed on the TV with its own tuner. There are also no problem with WinTV2000. It also means that on some programs, I can see some time code at the buttom of the screen (small white line). Can I change some parameters in an ini file to make it a little bigger like in winTV2000 ?
And will it in a later release be possible to adjust light, contrast and color like in WinTV2000 ?

Just for information. EPG works here in Denmark, but I have to remove the +0100 information from all start and stop times before updating the EPG, But I can live with this.

Great program, you must make a way for donations so you can get some more hardware like an ekstra
TV tuner card and an MVP.

  playlist for videos
Posted by: sisuomin - 2004-02-21, 08:42 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Nice feature would be a similar playlist functionality for mpeg videos as currently exist for mp3s. Or possibility to play all videos (randomly) in a folder.

  Problem with multiple tuners
Posted by: Guest - 2004-02-20, 08:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

With Rel 13, I was watching liveTV on the MVP and started a manual recording on the PC client. As soon as I started the manual recording, the liveTV stopped.

  Can't play recordings
Posted by: teris - 2004-02-20, 08:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hello,

after a long night gbpvr can show live-TV and play my MPEG-Files in the video folder.
But when I record a new video, I get an error when I try to play it in the recordings-section.
[Error:msg=0x202... Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt. : at. u.a (bk A_O)... ]

When I try to play the same file in the video-section, It works.
Is this a known problem ?

I think it should be able to play recordings while recording these. I this right ?

How can I fix this problem ?

Thanks
Sebastian from Germany

PS: I told the german hauppauge support for dealers that they should test GBPVR. They said: "Das ist ja genial. Wenn der so weiter macht, benutzt keiner mehr unser WinTV und den MVP-Server."

  v0.13 available for download
Posted by: sub - 2004-02-20, 06:45 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (20)

I've just uploaded the new release. You can download it from http://www.gbpvr.com/Setup013.exe

From the change log -
2003-2-21 v0.13
- Now supports multiple MVPs. You need to start a separate instance of GB-PVR for each client.
- Direct Recording plugin should now work correctly with multiple tuners.
- Also using leasing scheme for tuner for recording and LiveTV. Allows pool of capture device to be shared among mulitple clients.
- You can now type a channel number and press enter while watching LiveTV to change channels. When the mini-guide is up, the first 'Enter' press changes the mini-guide channel information, the second actually changes the channel.
- Direct Recording plugin now let you specify the bit rates etc for recordings.
- OSD now supported on the MVP.
- You can now change the volume of music playing from the main menu using the volume buttons on the remote.
- Blue and green buttons now work on the MVP. Green brings up the mini-guide when watching TV. Blue toggles between icon and list view in the music and video libraries.
- Improved quality of OSD rendering when using Overlay manager
- Rudementary skip forward and back for the MVP. Still a work in progress, but kind of works.
- Much cleaner approach to handling USB-UIRT and Actisys IR200L learning and replay. Now allowing using device profiles. Hopefully users will contribute device files that I can distribute with future release for the use of others.
- Added new 'Girder Channel Changer'. This sends events to Girder, allowing users to hook up all sorts of channel chaging functionality through the various Girder plugins. Uses the Girder Internet Event Server. Sends events labelled GB_TUNE_0 ... GB_TUNE_9. Also for those that can use them, sends GB_TUNE_EON 'end of number' and GB_CHANNEL_123 (123 is the new channel).
- Added check box in config to enable direct access to Hauppauge remote for PVR250/PVR350 users.
- Fixed an installation issue that was causing a couple of files not to be registered sometimes.
- Added an 'Empty EPG' button, which will delete the programme listings for a specific capture source. Channel are left intact. This can be useful if you've accidently imported broken xmltv data.
- You can now select the record quality settings in the Config app. You can select from a predefined list of settings or also edit the "Custom" settings.
- Added ForceFormat in direct.ini to allow you to override default recording encoding format is Auto/NTSC/PAL. Useful for imported foreign cards.
- Added 'Net Radio' menu option for listening to live Shoutcast MP3 radio stations. Save .pls files in "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\net radio" to add addition stations to the list. You can download more stations (.pls) files from http://www.shoutcast.com.
- Fixed a bug that was swallowing the second MVP remote key press without performing any action.
- Added a couple of optional command line arguments. -UpdateEPG which will force the EPG to be updated as GB-PVR starts, and -OnlyUpdateEPG which updates the EPG but never starts the GB-PVR gui.

Where to set tuning of channels?
Posted by: ericbiermann - 2004-02-20, 02:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi,
I just started with GB-PVR, but in the configuration manual I never found where to tune channels. The steps focussed at channels in the setup are EPG-related. I would like to setup the tuner.

I was thinking, do these channel freqs come from hp's wintv software?
or will I be able to make settings as soon as the live tv button does not give an error that it can't connect to the gb-pvr recording service.

what's happening?

Bought showshifter before my pvr350. Now want to use gbpvr. looks better and I like the OSD

grt,
eric

  installing updates of gbpvr
Posted by: dutchal - 2004-02-18, 09:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I spend quite some time adding and arranging my dutch channels in the channel list.

When i want to update to a newer version of GBPVR, what is the best option to keep my configured channels ?

Thanks !

No video output /osd on startup
Posted by: dutchal - 2004-02-18, 09:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

When starting V0.10 on a XP system with a PVR-350 card I have the following problem :

- start gbpvr
- gbpr window appears on desktop
- video out of PVR-350 only shows colored bars

My "hobby bob" workaround at the moment
- start wintv 2000 application
- correct gbpvr output is shown
- close wintv 2000

It happens after a clean start up and also after a standy.

Could this be hauppauge driver related ? the drivers are not the newest, I checked some time ago but the drivers available then were less stable~~(= not workableSad )

Or might some initialization of gbpvr go wrong ?

Thxs !

  Wide Screen Movies displayed 4:3
Posted by: dekkeh - 2004-02-18, 07:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

When you play a wide screen movie (e.g. 16:9) through GBPVR, the image will be stretched to fill the entire (4:3) screen, thereby making everyone seem rather tall [Image: biggrin.gif]

Have I not found the right setting, or is this something that needs to be rectified?

grtz,

Hans
