Error message when trying to schedule recordings
Posted by: glassvial - 2004-05-01, 08:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

"Unable to schedule recording. No capture source available."

This is what happens when I try to schedule recordings that overlap. Obviously it's erroring out because of the overlap, but I would expect something more intuitive rather than just erroring out? Maybe, maybe not?

I'm surprised this hasn't come up before (I searched).

error when skip forward 1 min
Posted by: defuicus - 2004-05-01, 08:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Working mediaMVP documentation and trying out all the functions, I can repeatedly crash the mediaMVP server when using the fast forward 1 min.

Here is one of errors reported by the .net framework:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

  unicode support
Posted by: defuicus - 2004-05-01, 08:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I am working on an xml grabber for the Chinese satellite TV programs here is the State. Before that could happen, the xmltv parser in GBPVR needs to be able to support unicode characters.

If I take any xmltv generated files (english only), open it up in notepad and save as unicode. GBPVR will refused to load it.

On the same note, the music and video library does not support unicode either. An music file with a Chinese character in the files name will not be player by GBPVR, and if the id tag field is Chinese, junk is display on the screen.

I would expect other unicode language would have the same problem, anybody has similar problem?

  Common Language Runtime error
Posted by: padell - 2004-05-01, 05:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I installed the latest version of the software, but running either the config or the actual program result in a "Common Language Runtime Debugging Services" error that states the "Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=(random numbers), Thread id=(more randow numbers) Click OK to terminate the application. Click Cancel to debug the application."

Has anyone had anything similar? I didn't see a search ability in the forum, so I scanned the topics for the past month without seeing anything that appeared to be on this topic.

Any help you could give would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Phil

  PVR-350 Only 16bit TV-OUT???
Posted by: Jack_GB - 2004-05-01, 12:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

NOticed with the pictures plugin that the 350's TV output is only 16bit, and banding shows in skys etc.

Is that a limitation of the 350's TV out or the plugin or GB-PVR?

  API Doc
Posted by: colin - 2004-04-30, 06:36 PM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

Hey Sub,

i'm planning on generating a few stub files for the plugin interfaces for sharp develp and then start writing up an api doc. Can you provide me a list of all api's so far and i'll try and get his out the door inthe next week or so. Might help reduce the number of api queries (though increase the api requests!Wink

cheers,
Colin.

  Music API?
Posted by: brturn - 2004-04-30, 05:46 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (24)

What is the API to the music/sound library in GB-PVR? Do modules have access to the current playlist, etc?

I'm interested in writing a party-mode jukebox module, but don't want to re-write all the code that is already being used by the music module.

Thanks,
--Bryan

  OSD api
Posted by: colin - 2004-04-30, 02:09 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

Hey Sub,

not sure how easy this would be to, but would it be possible that a plugin running in the background could call a method within OSD to display a text message?

I was thinking with the email plugin, you can have it configured that every x minutes the email thread checks for new mail and then can send a message to the OSD if the user wants.

The weather plugin may be able to use it for storm warning alerts, etc.,

cheers,

hauppage remote - key to start GBPVR ??
Posted by: chuckyt - 2004-04-30, 04:09 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Currently, the four coloured buttons on the hauppage remote ( red green yellow & blue) are used to start a variety of hauppage apps.
Does anyone know of a way to reprogram one of these ( or preferably, the top right green power button ) to start GB PVR rather than the other apps.

I have tried to edit the irremote.ini file with a path to GBPVR against the relevent button, but I couldn;t get this to work

thanks

Chuck

  Net radio drops out sometimes
Posted by: glassvial - 2004-04-29, 06:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Usually after listening for a few hours, it'll just stop. Pick another channel, then go back to the one I was listening to brings it back. Is this normal?
