  Sleep PC during recording
Posted by: Stanno - 2018-10-16, 06:26 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Hi all,
Did a daft thing last evening - went to turn off the TV but grabbed the wrong remote and put the PC to sleep .... during a recording. Realised immediately what I had done so woke the PC back up and checked it was still recording and yes it was. However, when the recording finished at the scheduled time it was truncated and terminated at the point I pressed the wrong remote. The Ready Recordings screen said it was an hour long but in reality it was 11 minutes.
Is there anything that can be done in either NPVR or Win 10 to ignore the power off button when a recording is taking place?
As always, thanks in advance for your input/thoughts/suggestions.
Stanno

  No List of Recordings?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2018-10-16, 01:58 PM - Forum: NextPVR iOS and AppleTV Clients - Replies (5)

Hi, I can watch TV Shows OK, and see Recurring recordings, but there are no entries under All Recordings (I have sufficient recordings)?
What am I doing wrong here please?

Using Older iPAD with IOS 10.3.3 (as high as it goes).

I also tried on my iPhone 7 iOS 12.0.1; same issue, black screen no recordings.
I can see a log file growing in web/temp for streaming.
I deleted the access PIN on the server.

  Windows 10 Ramdrive for buffer
Posted by: PaulW - 2018-10-16, 02:33 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I've been using NPVR for a couple weeks now with iptv, and have been very happy with the results!

I built a very powerful HTPC/gaming rig with no hardware bottlenecks, but knowing iptv can be flaky and streams can come and go, I wanted to improve my buffering speeds.

I configured a 4Gb ramdrive to mount at startup, and within the few seconds required for my VPN to establish, I have a 10Gb/s buffer ready to go.

Initial testing is looking great, and the video hangs on a weak station seem to be gone.

So happy I found NextPVR

  IPTV Device

What is <EnableIPTVDevice>false</EnableIPTVDevice>
in the config.xml used for.
Should this be 'true' if I am using IPTV.

Also, how do you define multiple m3u's

Computer is not waking up from sleep to record via schedule
Posted by: ajc1616 - 2018-10-15, 08:50 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

I have tried to restart my service and I get the following error.

"Unable to start service: System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot start service
NPVR Recording Service on computer ".".--->
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The system cannot find the file
specified
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---
at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceController.Start(Stri ng[] args)
at NCtrl.Program.Main(String[] args)

I can view all my channels, I can record when my system is up and running. I have deleted the service and reinstalled the program and I am still unable to record via schedule. Any help would be great!

Help needed with xmltv from epg123
Posted by: SpinyGreen - 2018-10-15, 06:53 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (17)

NextPVR was working OK using JSON download from Schedules Direct. However, I also use EPG123 to download from SD to supply the guide for Windows Media Center on a couple of computers. I discovered this week that it also will create an XMLTV format file. In order to minimize the SD downloads, I decided to have EPG123 add the XMLTV output and then switched NPVR to use that file for its guide updates.

I managed to accomplish the changes with a fairly small amount of cursing, and it has populated the guide from the xmltv file.

However, there is one gigantic problem. The guide is populated using UTC time! I live in Arizona, USA. My time zone is UTC-0700. A Show that plays at noon in this time zone appears in the guide at 7:00 PM, which is UTC time. All of my series recordings have gone belly up. (The date and time at the top of the NexPVR window displays the correct date and time, so the issue is not my computer settings.)

How do I coerce NPVR to populate the schedule using my time zone? Is there some setting I must make in the NPVR config? Or is this an EPG123 issue?

Feature Request: Android TV Live Channel Integration
Posted by: flubberboy - 2018-10-15, 03:33 AM - Forum: NextPVR Android Client - Replies (6)

Would be absolutely fantastic to see NextPVR's android app integrated with the Android TV Live Channels app made by Google. Not to insult the current app, but the Live Channels interface is significantly more "TV focused" rather than feeling like a mobile app that has been stretch to fit on a TV. Other competitors have already implemented this, although none of them are Windows compatible and easy to set up like NextPVR's server is. I'd love to know if this feature is planned, and if there is a time-line for release.

Information on how to implement this is available on the Android Developer page, seems like a relatively low-effort addition which adds significant usability to NextPVR.

Upgrading NPVR Major Revisions - Fresh Install vs Installation Over Existing
Posted by: vintdiesel - 2018-10-14, 11:55 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hello All,

Just thought I'd share my experience of finally upgrading from V 3.9.5 to V 4.2.2, after over several months of having a go, on and off when I had some time (which wasn't much).

After backing up NPVR in program files (x86) and under the Public Users folders I would try to install the new version over the top of the old, but playback had issues.

Mostly when I skipped forward or back, the audio was out of sync with the video, then after say 10 seconds, the video slowed so that the audio caught up.
Selecting any number of decoder combinations and checking and un-checking the use the legacy reader checkbox made no difference to the performance.
I had seen posts of this same sync problem in the past, but I could not resolve it.

So this weekend I thought, maybe this is more related to Windows than NPVR?

So I stopped the recording service, renamed my NPVR folders and did a fresh install, scanned channels, set my decoders, copied my scripts and npvr.db3 files into the new installation, and now all works well on the playback and skipping front.

Anyone had similar experiences?
