  Device Update - Channel Mapping
Posted by: chezmorris - 2018-10-21, 07:55 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Hello

First time on the forum and first time problem, which shows the strength of NextPVR.

I use NPVR to view some IPTV channels which I subscribe to. The EPG data is not so strong (and only a few days long) which proves difficult when it comes to setting the record function. As a result, I have now subscribed to Schedules Direct which is a far better EPG provider, even if it takes a bit of time to manually match the channels to begin with.

On occasions, such as now, the IPTV provider updates the channel listings requiring me to undertake a rescan. This works perfectly fine when I use the IPTV provider's EPG data (XML) but it screws up the Schedules Direct channel mapping.

So my questions to you good people are:

1. Is there any way to rescan the channels whilst preserving the existing EPG channel mapping? [I suspect not, in which case....]

2. Is there any way to make a back up of the channel mapping (e.g. by saving a copy of the npvr.db3 data) which I can then subsequently reinstall, thus preserving most of the EPG data, leaving me to only deal with the channels that have changed?

Thanks for reading this and hopefully someone out there will have an answer for me.

Cheers

David

  Nextend help
Posted by: CDinger - 2018-10-21, 05:25 AM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (5)

I am having trouble getting NextEnd to extend sports events. I've been looking through the logs trying to understand what is happening and what is going wrong but I am no making much if any progress. I am attaching logs and I think the NextEnd log below is helpful. It makes me think the failure is because of the double entry for what I believe is the program subtitle. I haven't a clue why this is happening. My ready recordings list the game as College Football:Oregon at Washington State no duplication. I am doing a test to rule out that it has anything to do with how I program recurring recordings by doing a quick record for tomorrows Formula One and Nascar races. I'll update after the races.

NextPVR crashes when I try to watch any channel
Posted by: kgvelkov - 2018-10-20, 05:50 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Hi,
When I try to watch any Live TV channel through NextPVR's interface, it just doesn't do it, and soon enough I get the "NextPVR is not responding" window.
It works flawlessly in the web interface, just not in the program itself.

Logs are attached.

NPVR black channel screen when restarting Windows from energy saving or hibernate
Posted by: Pruzel - 2018-10-20, 03:40 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit version 1803.
Since that version I am able to run NPVR without any problem after a complete reboot.
But when I restart Windows from energy saving mode or from hibernate the NPVR screen stays black when starting any TV channel.
Deactivating Kaspersky Internet Security does not change anything.

For some days I tested version 1809 too.
After some reboots NPVR screen staid always black, unimportant from restarting Windows.
New installation of NPVR and LAV-filters did not change the behaviour.

No audio on HD channels with LAV
Posted by: Zerist - 2018-10-20, 07:59 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (44)

Hi there,

I just installed NextPVR on a windows 10 (activated, up-to-date) computer which already had LAV installed (i use them with media player classic).
LAV is configured to pass digital audio through to my home theater receiver via HDMI.

In NextPVR decoder settings, i set LAV in all video and audio sections.

Then, when watching live TV, i have no audio on HD channels (but it works on SD channels). Video works fine.

If i watch a recorded .ts, i have no audio either. However, if i open the .ts file with MPC (which also uses LAV) then i do get sound.

I have found this archived thread : https://forums.nextpvr.com/archive/index...58470.html and tried whats described on it with no success.

My TV tuner is an USB "AVerMedia AVerTV Volar HD 2".

Thanks for your help Smile

Kodi says it's playing live tv, but doesn't actually switch to the video
Posted by: cornishrefugee - 2018-10-19, 05:34 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (11)

Hi all, I posted this on the kodi forum in the NextPVR section and got no responses. So I'm hoping I may get a little more luck over here.

I've been using NextPVR with Kodi for years, and had zero issues. Unbelievably reliable. We were away from home for 2 days last week, and when we returned live tv wouldn't play at all. I was on 17.6 so thought "I know, i'll just try updating to Leia and it will remedy any issue I had" (stupid thought, I know). Nope, still no worky.
Basically I go to the guide in Kodi, select the channel to watch and then in the top right of the screen next to the clock is shows a "playing" arrow next to the channel and show I selected. But nothing else happens. I am still shown the channel list or guide, with no tv video or audio. So next I updated my firmware on my HDHR Prime, installed the latest NextPVR. Still the same issue.

Since then I have been running through all of the settings to make sure they are all as they should be, and I can't work it out.

NextPVR standalone program works with live tv. If i select the HDHR PVR in Kodi it works fine. I can set up NextPVR in Emby, and it all works fantastically. I have since reinstalled all of the separate components but alas no improvement.

Anyone got any suggestions? I hadn't changed a single setting in Kodi/NextPVR backend, so I'm stumped as to why it has just stopped working. I can attach logs if necessary, but which one is the once to attach? I found a few logs with different titles when I took a look earlier.

Thanks in anticipation, and thanks for reading this far!

Here is my setup,
HDHR Prime - Spectrum cablecard
Kodi v18 beta 3 (but problem was originally in 17.6 too)
NextPVR backend
NextPVR selected in Kodi
I use Schedules Direct for EPG, just thought I'd throw in that info

DVR recording Scheduling - conflicts reported when there are none
Posted by: Razor68 - 2018-10-19, 12:13 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I'm trying to record 2 channels simultaneously from 7 PM to 9 PM tonight, recording 4 sitcoms on one, and 2 dramas on the other. NPVR is saying they conflict.

I have a 2 tuner HDHomeRun from 2013-ish. It's wired to the same gigabit switch as the PC I'm recording programming on. It works great with my aerial up in the rafters in my garage. The PC is an old Core 2 I picked up for $99 on NewEgg just for use as a DVR, with 4 GB RAM and an SSD boot drive. I may soon replace it with a laptop with Core i5 with 8 GB RAM, and SSD. Recordings are saved to a USB2 external 2 TB drive.

I removed all repeating recordings, rebooted the PC, and re-added all 6 shows as recurring programs with no padding between shows (the 1st shows on each channel were set to have a minute of pre-padding, and the last having a minute of post-padding). Unfortunately, it sill won't record all six programs. I'm guessing my Guide is showing a very slight overlap in shows on the same channel and it might not be being handled well.

I was fortunately able to get 3 of 4 sitcoms and both dramas to record, but it's a bummer that I couldn't record everything. Is there something more I can do? Does NextPVR support saving padding to both programs in sequence on the same channel without needing to use 2 tuners? I have to assume I'm not the first person to think this would be a huge plus.

Anyhow - NPVR log post-reboot is attached. Hope it helps.
