  4.0.4 (170820)
Posted by: pkatt - 2017-08-27, 05:40 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

The latest build seems to be more stable. Still seeing the jump back and get stuck trick. Video will be playing along just fine, jump back to an earlier time and act like that is the end of the video. (solved by closing the program and resuming) Ive noticed that happens most when there is a glitch in the recording. It still has ff problems, pops out of full screen or freezes if you use a mouse but it maximizes back to full screen much better. Most of my troubles happen when Im using my mouse and not the remote. Most of my other troubles with black screen are rare and I honestly think those are video card related as they got way better with the new nvidia driver released this past month. Seems like you are on the right track with that stuff

one question: the taskbar status icon used to be able to show settings, now clicking that crashes the service. Is anyone else having that problem?

  Constant nextpvr crashes since 4.0.4
Posted by: sover - 2017-08-26, 10:49 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Since updating to 4.0.4 I get random hangs of the software. The recording service continues to work, but watching live tv or recordings will after some amount of time eventually end up with the playback stopping and the program becoming unresponsive until it just has to be closed.

The previous versions had various quirks such as the program sometimes crashing after watching a recording, but not random crashes in the middle of everything.

Win10-64bit GTX960 HD HomeRun Extend Video Decoder
Posted by: jerlasvegas - 2017-08-26, 05:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (16)

Hello, I have an i5-7600 with a GTX960 Video Card. I have the HD HomeRun Extend and through the HD Player, everything plays perfectly. When I play video through NextPVR, it plays back in the same manner that a tv station with poor reception would come in. So my guess is that it has something to do with the video decoder NextPVR is using.

I have tried SAF unlocked, LAV 0.70, LAV 0.68 (that comes with SAF), Microsoft DVD-DTV and ffdshow. None of them produce smooth playback. Reading these forums and searching leads to a lot of MPEG-2 discussion. However, NextPVR is using the H.264 decoder for me. When I try to configure the LAV Video Decoder and try to select DXVA2 (Native), the Hardware Device to use goes greyed out and says "The selected Hardware Decoder does not support using a specific device."

Now, since the HD HomeRun Player works perfectly, how can I get NextPVR to use that video decoder? Or does someone else have another suggestion? Thanks in advance. I've been searching for hours and trying all sorts of different configurations.

Hi again everyone

My quad tuner has arrived I have successfully installed the card and its drivers in a win 7 machine,

I have scanned for channels and received 157 for all for tuners in the card,

Live tv fully working on this machine and EPG data working too..

Going downstairs to my machine running Kodi I can't get anything to work no connection to next pvr no channels nothing all that it stated when I try to enable the NEXTPVR app from within Kodi is "Addon couldn't be loaded. An unknown error has occurred"

Opening live to section of Kodi just says "PVR Manager Starting up 0%" nothing happens

Any help appretiated

  Win10 PVR won't sleep after recording(s)
Posted by: philb49 - 2017-08-26, 07:09 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (15)

I have recently installed NextPVR 3.9.2 on a clean install of Win10. I have a Hauppauge 2200 tuner card on an ASRock mobo, I5 with 4 gig of ram. Nothing special. NextPVR works a treat and I'd like to use this pc as a standalone PVR.

I schedule recordings from the guide and the pc will wake from sleep as expected and record. I realise NextPVR wakes up the host machine but is not responsible for putting the machine to sleep after the recordings, having researched and discovered that in the forum.

In Win10 Power Settings I have set the monitor to sleep after 10 and the pc to sleep after 15 minutes. The monitor sleeps ok but the pc remains on despite the recordings finishing hours prior. I have disabled wake in the network card properties, likewise the kb and mouse.

NextPVR is the only program installed. Is there something specific in Win10 I am missing here? Is there a program which may "override" Win10 power settings.

Thanks

Phil

  "Devices" question
Posted by: Rich A - 2017-08-25, 11:23 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (19)

I last used Nextpvr a couple years ago when my cable tv provider was Cox. I've since moved to a new location where I now have Comcast. I'm installing NextPVR into a newly built HTPC (running Win 7 Pro 32-bit) with the new Comcast TV provider. My question is about the Devices. That setup initially shows multiple devices. I'm running a Silicon Dust HDHR Prime device which has a 3 tuner Motorola CableCard. SD TV viewer works fine and I can see all my channels. But I need some direction with my NextPVR setup.

Setup Devices finds the following. Which set of three tuners should I use? Can I delete the unused ones? I don't ever remember (from a few years ago) having multiple versions of the same single device before? Could this have something to do with the "new" Comcast video mpeg-4 video format? Thanks .. Rich

  Is remote/internet streaming supported?
Posted by: TDown - 2017-08-25, 02:11 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (6)

I currently have Kodi working with NextPVR on a LAN of 3 separate devices. I can connected remotely on 8866 to the web interface and successfully stream channels.

Connected from a remote location through Kodi's NextPVR addon, I can pull a channel list (I have not paid for guide data yet), but I cannot stream. I get a Tuner not available error message after a while of waiting.

I've set the below XML variables and have located the below log entry indicating that NextPVR is receiving the request and simply denying it. Is it safe to assume that remote streaming has been disabled internal to NextPVR?

Log Error:

[DEBUG][24] Not allowing internet based streaming request

config.xml:

<AllowRemoteAPI>true</AllowRemoteAPI>
<AllowRemoteTranscode>True</AllowRemoteTranscode>
<AllowRemoteStreaming>True</AllowRemoteStreaming>

Config-master-dont-edit.xml

<AllowRemoteStreaming>true</AllowRemoteStreaming>

Recordings Keep Getting Cut Off (standby)
Posted by: hansolo77 - 2017-08-24, 08:27 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I've got my system working. I watch TV, record shows, get EPG data, etc. However, I've noticed recently that a lot of my shows are only recording about 10 minutes and then it's over. I suspect it's the computer going to into standby while it's still recording. I'm not entirely sure though, but need help. I know if I'm active on the computer (preventing standby) while a show is recording, it will record the entire time it's supposed to. But if I'm at work when a recording is supposed to happen, it WILL record, but only 10 minutes or so. In the NPVR Settings->Recording, I DO have it checked "Block Shutdown While Recording". I also confirmed that setting in the config.xml file.

Could someone explain how recordings work please
Posted by: Sharpy420 - 2017-08-24, 06:39 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

When you record a movie / to show

Are you freely able to copy the file to be viewed on different devices or are the files encrypted / locked to next PVR . every hard drive that I have used to record programs inside a DVR or USB attached to TVs for recording won't let you access the files via a comouter for editing or copying

I there a way to remove adverts from files

Thanks everybody for helping me with the many simple questions and threads

Could anybody point me in the right direction for a decent driver that actually works with this tuner on win 7 x64

I have tested my aerial with an xbox one tuner and a tv with built in freeveiw and all is working fine once connected to this tuner no channels found

Just thought I'd give it one last go with this tuner before I buy a different one
