Flashing in on-screen graphics (Windows 10) (Can post logs if needed)
Posted by: bgtees - 2017-08-20, 04:09 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (39)

Is there any way to prevent this "flashing" from occurring?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKLFnUlJ7d8

It only occurs in the bottom-left corner while watching live or recorded TV, and only when I have the "override high DPI scaling performed by System" checked. I can post logs if needed, but did not seem necessary for this.

Running on Win10 Pro x64, Intel HD Graphics 630, hooked up to a 60" TV.

Thanks

UK users - what EPG source and software are you using?
Posted by: JP23 - 2017-08-20, 01:43 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

Hi,

I used XMLTVGUI with Radio Times listings for a long time, but that stopped working some time ago.

Since then I've been using WebGrab Plus, which does the job, but is quite complicated to configure and takes literally hours to pull down 14 days of listings for about 75 channels.

So I'm wondering what other people are using these days, and what the positives and negatives are for the various options.

Updated to 4.0.4.170820 HD Channels Breaking Up
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2017-08-20, 07:30 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (27)

I've Just updated to the latest Next PVR version 4.0.4.170820

HD Channels are now getting picture break up quite badly and and are black screening on opening an HD channel more often than not. Also HD Recordings from a couple of weeks ago are breaking up on scene change.
This is with the new mux and NPVRTSReader4 using PDVD13 codec (LAV and Microsoft having same problems)
Previously the new mux was a bit jittery on start or signal glitches but working mostly OK.
Will the previous version of NPVRTSReader4 work by just replacing or are there dependencies that require a complete roll back?

I/ve got 9 hours to fix the car and sort this before the misses comes back from work

Logs attached from a clean start - don't think they show much though.

(Just gone back to the legacy TSReader which is OK but would like to get the new one back running again)

Nextpvr fails to record with WinTV HVR-900H BDA Tuner device - error not clear (Win10
Posted by: lchiu7 - 2017-08-19, 09:07 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

[UPDATE]

Never mind - updated to latest version and all is fine.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I haven't been using NextPVR for a while and just tried to record a program using the WinTV HVR-900H BDA Tuner device.

Upgraded the channel EPG fine so NextPVR and Windows can certainly find the device. And using the same aerial connection I can receive the OTA broadcasts fine so the signal appears to be good also.

But on a record I get the following errors in the log.

  4.0.4 Web Interface - Android
Posted by: VCR58 - 2017-08-19, 03:38 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

I am experiencing a problem starting an NPVR stream initiated from an Android phone or tablet. When I select a recorded video from Chrome and select "Watch" the stream appears to launch and indicates that it is "playing". However, the video does not play (no sound either). The space where the video should be is grey and the progress bar indicates 0 and never progresses. In order to start the video I have to touch the pause button a time or two and then the video will start playing.

Here is a screenshot...

I restarted NPVR and included the logs after my attempt to start a recorded video from my phone (Nexus 5X Android 7). First I selected the video and waited a minute or so. Then I pressed the pause button and the video started playing. I also tried this using my Android 6 tablet with the same behavior. Starting a live TV stream does the same thing.

Launching a recorded video from a Windows PC using the web interface with Chrome or edge starts without any problem.

Device list - deleted devices keep reappearing
Posted by: mattyb - 2017-08-17, 09:01 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

This must be something simple. I've had several devices in this PC over the last while but want to delete all the ones that aren't there any longer. However when I delete, they reappear again after going out and back into Settings. Any ideas how I can keep them from coming back? See attached image - the ones with channels are the only devices currently present.

Windows 10 Setup a Mess - Several Things
Posted by: Maavalous - 2017-08-16, 10:47 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (17)

Relates to Windows 10 latest build and NextPVR v 4.0.4 (170730). Brand new PC first booted and updated 8/15/17.

I LOVE NextPVR! I've been a user and donate to the development for years now. But... the move to Win10 was as rough as it gets.

1) After initial install I discovered no video. Finally found the post on Win10 not having MPEG2 decoder anymore. Hunted down the LAV Filters on GitHub and installed those. FYI... you only need the x86, skip the install on the files marked 64. Just pull down the install.exe and run it and uncheck the 64's.
However, I discovered that the LAV decoders for Audio do NOT do 5.1 sound. So, luckily, the Win10 audio decoders did work and so I had both sound and video. YES! Use LAV for all video and Win10 for all audio.

2) Mouse issue others have reported is happening to me as well. No matter where I point, when I click I get something else. Click Guide and I get Search etc. I can click the NPVR title bar icons/buttons though... odd.

3) Full screen mode is broken completely now. Unusable.

4) Help me! Full screen destoryed usability. After all the setup and doing the install twice, I had everything working in window mode. All things were fine. So I tried full screen mode and BANG.

a) I lost 1/3 of all the menus and screens other than viewing a video (that still works in a window). All I see in NPVR is 2/3 of any screen except the Settings windows and when viewing a video/TV in window mode. It's like it's zoomed in. Yes, I checked and I do have the Display Scaling set to 100% so that's not it.

b) After I gave up on full screen I noticed that the NPVR Service icon in the Task Bar menu is gone. The one that turns red when recording. It was there right up until I tried full screen. I checked services and it 'appears' to be running. Guess I won't know for sure until a get/miss a scheduled recording. Just WEIRD thing to have happen.

So, full screen has been a problem for years. On every install I had to do a hokey pokey dance of right click, left click, get thrown out to menu and back. But eventually it worked. Not any more. I can NOT use full screen mode in Win10. Would be nice to see that finally fixed.

Real thing I need help with now is getting the screens/menus scaled back down to usable size. I can't see what's going on or where I am in most screens. Again, in a window only, video live/recorded seems to be correctly sized. Though I'm holding my breath right now after all this.

Any ideas???

  Append Channel/Network to file name
Posted by: MarkMills - 2017-08-16, 04:00 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi all,
I've been trying to find away to add the channel/network name to the recorded file name. My intention is that I want to use MCEBuddy to carry out specific tasks dependent on the channel. For example, in the UK, I don't want to carry out a commercial scan for BBC channels. And the add detection for Quest seems to be different for the Dave channel.
I've sort of got Imagegrablite working but cannot see a way to just add the channel name.
Any idea or pointers?
Thanks in advance
Mark
