Posted by: TeleFragger - 2016-11-19, 02:41 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (19)

Ok so forgive me if I missed it but I have searched high and low here then on google and just couldn't find it.

I am trying to record all NEW shows on the Hallmark Channel. This way it will mcebuddy to my plex box and wife would have access to all her new lovely beloved xmas shows!!!!! pfffft

anywho... If I go to the Hallmark Channel and double click a show and hit record it will be only for that show.

so just need to know how to record all new shows on a single channel... well maybe 2.. Hallmark and Hallmark Mystery.

Thanks all and PS LOVE THIS PROGRAM!!!!!!!!!

  Looking for USBUIRTSend.exe and USBUIRTLearn.exe...
Posted by: megardi - 2016-11-19, 12:50 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have been running NPVR successfully for years with USBUIRTSend.exe controlling my STB but am now recovering from a system crash and can't find a copy of them anywhere locally or online. There are numerous references in this forum but none of the attachments are valid. Any help tracking these tools would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Mike

Recording But Periodically Creates Small Useless File Size
Posted by: DBClock - 2016-11-19, 02:45 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I have used NPVR for a year with my Silicon Dust HD Home Run Connect, without any problem. I've been able to record anything and everything I've thrown at it.

After a recent update to NPVR a few weeks ago, some of my programs record the whole time, but the file size is useless (see attached jpg for file size comparison). It records three times a day, and it's never consistent which shows it records correctly. There is no weakness in the signal, which shows 90-100% throughout the recording time.

Now running 3.83 (160929).

I've attached the logs for those who understand them :)

Thank you so much for your assistance!

TV Listings plugin no longer works after upgrade to 3.9.2
Posted by: LeGrandZombie - 2016-11-19, 02:36 AM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (14)

When I click TV Listings or TV Recordings I get the error in the attached screenshot. The default TV Guide and Recordings menu items seem to work alright. I've never had any trouble with the TV Listings plugin after an upgrade before. I looked to see if there might be a newer version available, but link provided in the wiki has the same version I'm using, 3.7.1.27238.

  3.9.2. Nearsighted Setting? B-)
Posted by: M_ampersand_M - 2016-11-19, 02:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

Just upgraded and this is what it looks like:

It's sort of hard to tell, but normally the menu doesn't take up 1/3 of the screen.

Maybe the Guide image is a better one to show just how large it is:

UI is set to Auto in Settings/General. That's all I know.

Any suggestions for making things smaller/the way they used to be?

  Kodi PVR image caching
Posted by: mvallevand - 2016-11-18, 10:06 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

I noticed today that I had thousands of cached images from pvr.nextpvr on my Kodi folder system and I barely use the addon.

The caching algorithm does it by URL and for recordings there are two images per recording (cover and background) ie.

http://ip:8866/service?method=recording....g_id=17156
and
http://ip:8866/service?method=recording....g_id=17156

With one show with 10 episodes each after each session that you open that folder you end up with 20 entries in the database and 20 files in the Thumbnail cache. Ironically only two files ever get sent over and over. I suspect you will have tons more if you have NextPVR download EPG art.

The point of this is if you have a low memory machine you might want to clean your thumbnails out periodically Here is a guide I found that seems pretty simple http://www.htpcbeginner.com/clear-kodi-t...ils-cache/

  3.9.2 available (19th Nov)
Posted by: sub - 2016-11-18, 09:40 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (10)

You can download 3.9.2 from http://www.nextpvr.com/NPVRSetup_3_9_2_161119.exe

Please post any support issues in the support forum.

As always, a big 'thank you' to those guys that have helped out with the testing and with the development of the web app!

From the change log:

Quote:- several improvements to the webclient support
- added support for Direct2D renderer if Direct3D not available. This should hopefully work out of the box on newer Windows installs, without requiring user to install old DirectX 9 runtime, like they had to in the past.
- added support for IPv6 in the webserver
- improvments to security features in web server
- showing available disk space in web app
- fixed a crash that could occur for HDHomeRun Prime or Ceton users (where broadcaster was using a large PMT)
- fixed a crash in NextPVR.exe that could happen when editing a recording created via Kodi with more than 90 minutes
- fixed a crash that could a occur with the metadata screens enabled in Recordings, after selecting 'back' when deleting a recording from the multi-metadata screen.
- added basic drag/drop support for dropping video files on running instance of NextPVR.exe
- fixed a bug that could occur with shows that have a name ending with a period character, like Chicago P.D.
- fixed a bug that could cause listings to fail to load if certain data was null in the database
- fixed a problem with grouping failed recordings on the web app API
- added ability to set channel type on Ceton devices, to cope with H.264 channels
- fixed issue that would cause manual recurring recordings to schedule for the wrong time after daylight savings changes
- http://127.0.0.1:8866/channels can be called to get an m3u playlist of available channel urls
- http://127.0.0.1:8866/recordings can be called to get an m3u playlist of available recording urls
- list view in music is now showing the selected filename on the right of screen, which helps with longer filenames
- now possible to configure whether the left/right arrow keys in video playback do a long or short skip.
- further updates to web app (IPv6 support, increased security, removed need for PIN for remote access in modern app)

This version has continued improving the nlite client application, which provides the same NextPVR interface with you're familiar with, but using an alternative cross platform client. For those interested in trying it out, you can download a Windows build from http://www.nextpvr.com/nlite-win32.zip. To run it, simply extract the directory somewhere onto your machine, and run the nlite.exe executable. It'll auto locate and connect to your NextPVR server running on the local network. A couple of screenshots from nlite, showing you the same familiar interface:

Kodi: Managing shows recorded in NPVR
Posted by: tinstaafl - 2016-11-18, 09:31 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (4)

I have the latest NextPVR set up and running well for watching live TV and scheduling TV recordings. My recurring recordings are all setup in NPVR.

I had used XBMC and Kodi in the past with various versions, but without live TV. So far I have been using the NPVR host GUI to watch my TV shows, and it works very well.

I just upgraded to Kodi Jarvis 16.1 (default-Confluence) and decided to give the TV plugin another go. It seems to work well now. I can watch live TV, my tuners are recognized, and the program Guide seems to function OK. My recorded shows from NPVR are all imported to Kodi.

My question is this: When watching the shows from Kodi, can the watched TV shows be managed from Kodi? I cannot see an obvious way to delete a watched TV show from the database and hard drive. Maybe I am just overlooking something? For example, when I have watched a show to completion via the NPVR host GUI, I get prompted to delete the show at the end.
