Hi, I just got a MyGica A681. I've set it up with NextPVR and Schedule Direct. It's working great, except:
1. I'm not getting some channels. As far as I'm aware, I'm not getting 2 (NBC) or 18 (not sure)
2. I get random crashes and exceptions when dealing with lists. Earlier I clicked bulk map and it gave me an exception, then only displayed a few channels. I also tried to cancel a recording, it gave me an exception and then froze. Right now I have a bunch of schedule conflicts that I'm trying to resolve, when I click cancel/don't record, it either gives me an exception, crashes, or doesn't do anything.
3. I'm getting random freeze ups when pressing most buttons. I click on a timeslot. Freeze. 30 seconds later, I click "Quick Record". Freeze. Not so quick, huh.
Don't get me wrong. It's a great software, I'm glad it's free. I can't believe they survive closed-source on donations like this. I personally think it would be better to either open source it or start charging.
Im getting audio dropouts on certain channels. with my TV tuner (the one inside my HDTV) the audio comes thru fine. Signal strength is also fine.
These are very momentary sub 1 sec drops in audio, but still annoying. Ive tried switching the AC3 codec from LAV to MS, but makes no difference. Not sure how to pin point the cause. Also check the audio our of my PC in case a connector issue, but these drop outs are heard from the PC audio jack.
So, my nPVR on WinXP Pro x64 stopped getting lineups after I upgraded to nPVR 3.8.3 but it took a while for me to realize this failure. I only noticed when my pending recordings only showed two for last night and none beyond.
The nPVR Settings>Channels would fail now setting up the EPG. I would go to a channel, select SchedulesDirect as the source, then going to the lineup button I'd quickly get a box saying I couldn't connect to SchedulesDirect and to try again later. I've been told this has to do with SchedulesDirect moving to load balancing their servers and WinXP not having suitable encryption. I was disturbed that the nPVR wouldn't get me the drop down box showing login username and password.
I went into \App Data\nPVR and renamed the directory \nPVR.old.2016.11.09 and did the same in Program Files (x86) (hoping that if I could get it working I could find the file containing the 130+ recurring programs list and move it over). Then I installed nPVR 3.2.9, scanned devices and got my HDHR3 tuners channels. Now with the Settings>Channels populated, I tried mapping and this time when I input SchedulesDirect as source I got a login user name and password box with a Download button. Hooray I thought. I mashed the Download button, a 2 or 3 second hourglass icon appeared, but no response from SchedulesDirect. Lineup and Mapping dropdown boxes stayed blank with no choices.
But I have no difficulty logging into http://www.schedulesdirect.org on WinXP. I have an entry for the legacy SD-DD (XML) service, which historically has been providing the information to nPVR, and when I go to the report lineups problem I see that there are two listings, the SD-DD (XML) lineup specification described as CableDigital and also a lineup described as SD-JSON.
It seems to me nPVR is going to the SD-JSON login and download rather than the SD-DD (XML) it used in the past. I had no idea what JSON is and just did a Google search and got this:

Now I know my WinXP Pro x64 started failing java upgrades more than a year, perhaps a few years ago. So, I'm guessing now that SchedulesDirect upgraded its java and it now causes nPVR to fail login to get lineups.
It was suggested I use xmltv.exe to get lineups from schedulesdirect but I don't see how that will work. If nPVR on XP can't login then how can xmltv.exe on XP login? Or is xmltv getting its listings elsewhere?
Is there some java workaround exploit that I can use to get nPVR on WinXP to login? I know there are different flavors of java. Suggestions? Thanks.

Okay, I see here (https://blogs.oracle.com/henrik/entry/th...of_java_on) the java installer has been fixed to allow installation on XP. Trying it now.... No joy although I now have Java8 on XP. Will try later versions of nPVR.... Nope, nPVR 3.6.6 fails to bring down the login dialog for schedulesdirect when I mash the lineup button.
The advantage nPVR with HDHomeRun3 gives me over my Tivo Premier XL4 is that if I record programs from 10pm to 11pm, my HDHR3 being on a second NIC of the XP machine (Hero Maximus VI motheboard) has those late recordings right there to start processing with MCEBuddy at say 11:05PM. MCEBuddy runs all night and usually finishes before I get up. If I can't use my HDHR3, because nPVR can't get lineups, any recording made between 10pm and 11pm must be transferred to the XP machine and that typically takes 20 minutes or so per hour program and for best MCEBuddy commercial removal the transfers must be completed before MCEBuddy start. Plus with both the 4 Tivo tuners and the 3 HDHR3 tuners I can get up to 7 programs. I have Win7 on an older machine but nPVR on that can't access the HDHR3 tuners on the unique subnet from that other machine and so without access to tuners there's no device population and no scanned channel listings to download lineups. The unique subnet for HDHR3 on the XP machines is for best recordings.
No big deal but I have a couple of channels that are found with a Scan but there is no video or audio when I try to view the channel. Why is scan finding the channel in the first place?
Apologies in advance for the technical nature of this but here goes:
My headless server is currently in my living room under my TV.
It contains a dual DVB-T tuner and a single DVB-S2 tuner. The server also contains four HDDS now and is getting a bit noisy to the extent that I want to move the server to another room.
I have a satellite dish on the side of my house that has a quad LNB but only one connection is being used.
I therefore have two coax cables running all the way round my living room to the server.
In addition to wanting to move my server, I also need some more tuner cards - it is not uncommon for me to be unable to watch Live TV due to a clash and I am only able to record HD from the single satellite tuner (I want to record everything in HD, if available).
Having done some research, it seems that SAT-IP would be the ideal solution. I could have the box where the satellite/aerial feeds enter the house and just run a single ethernet to cable to the server (so I can pretty much put it anywhere I want).
This is where it starts to get complicated - what combination of tuners should I get and can you get them in a single box?
Although there is a lot of duplication, there are some channels on Freesat that are not available on Freeserve and vice versa. I cannot, therefore, ditch one broadcast medium completely.
I originally thought that the best way forward would probably be a SAT-IP server with two DVB-S2 tuners and two DVB-T2 tuners.
This is not a problem on Freesat HD as it uses regular Dolby Digital.
However, Freeview HD uses something called HE-AAC for its sound. Am I correct in thinking that if I records something in 5.1, via one of the HD Freeview channels, I will only be able to play it back in stereo?
Again, apologies for the complex scenario - any advice would be much appreciated.
I have set up three groups of programs in NextPVR. One for current programs, one for the classic movies collection my wife and I are building, and one for programs from our youth when we missed lots of episodes because we weren't home at the time. I am trying to use filter so that when we want to watch current programs we don't have to wade through all the movies and old programs we've recorded when we explore "What's New" or "Ready." Any way to get Filter to work?
As mentioned in another thread, SchedulesDirect has quit on me. So I tried to record a two-hour show using manual recording. I set the start-time for 8 pm and the end-time for 10 pm. The recording started correctly at 8, but stopped at precisely 8:30 pm.
Strangely, the "Date Modified" field in WinXP shows "10:00 pm" (as if that was when the file was closed), but the file-length is one quarter of what it should be, MediaInfo says that it is only 29:57 long, and it does end after 30 minutes when I play it.
Because SchedulesDirect is broken, the guide shows "(no show details)" every half-hour on every channel. In other words, every show is represented as being only one half-hour long in the guide. Could this be why the recording stopped after a half-hour? Or is there something else that could be wrong?
NextPVR is truly a great program, but this is not the first time it has had my wife singing the praises of Tivo. And it's typically been a problem with SchedulesDirect.
The NFL doubleheader on CBS Sunday ran past its scheduled end time by 20 minutes. I would expect that NextEnd would have told later scheduled recordings(somehow?) on CBS to extend record times by 20 minutes. This did not happen. "Elementary" was scheduled to begin at 10:30PM and did begin recording at that time but the end time was not extended. I am having difficulty understanding the logs.
I've attached the logs for 11/6/16 hoping the answer is in there. Did I get something wrong?
Very slow menu navigation in web client running KODI 17 on LibreElec. Almost 1 second delay between pressing cursor on remote or keyboard and movement on screen. Normal navigation speed in KODI and non web client X-NEWA.
First became a problem on RPi2 client. Server reboots every night so later KODI 16 client runs ok. If I then reboot the client with the KODI 17 SD card everything works normally until the server reboots overnight. If the KODI 17 card is used first after a server reboot the slow navigation returns. If I then reboot just the client using the KODI 16 card this also has the slow navigation problem which a server reboot cures.
It looks like the first time a client accesses the server some setting is made on the server and for some reason the RPi2 setup doesnât like the settings created by a KODI 17 client. I did once see the problem using my AMD E450 powered client and today my temp replacement for the RPi2 an old Pentium 4 running KODI 17 for two weeks today has the slow menu navigation in the web client so reverted to KODI 16! My Celeron client running KODI 17 is still working ok. It does not seem to make any difference which version of X-NEWA I use.
