  3.8.3 TV Guide Broken?
Posted by: FangerZero - 2016-09-25, 12:16 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hello,

I downloaded/installed 3.8.3 and it seems that the TV Guide no longer works. I am using Schedules Direct. I know for sure it was working earlier, I don't know if maybe me merging the same name channels caused this or the new update. When I click continue I just keep getting different errors.

I attached the error I get and my log files in case you need them.

  playback has narration audio track
Posted by: Wakalaka - 2016-09-24, 06:38 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Some recordings now have a narration audio track, and this track is selected as the default track. I'm not sure what other info to include.

I'm not sure if this has already been reported, but the TV guide grid is not highlighting future recordings in red.

Current Time Line behind by ~10 minutes in EPG
Posted by: Yousty - 2016-09-24, 12:07 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (7)

I posted this problem on the Kodi forums but didn't get any help so I was hoping somebody on here might have a solution. For some reason my EPG in Kodi is showing the current time line as roughly 10 minutes behind actual time. What's crazy is that the time in Windows, Kodi, and NextPVR all show the correct time and even the current time line in the NextPVR EPG is correct but for some reason in Kodi's EPG it shows as ~10 minutes behind. I've scoured through all the settings in Kodi and can't for the life of me figure out what could be causing it. Any suggestions?

  Recordings Refresh on RPi LibreELEC
Posted by: Doctor Eggs - 2016-09-23, 11:49 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Sub,
I posted something to the kodi.tv forums about not getting recordings to auto refresh.

I put my kodi.log in the zip with my NPVR logs.

.116 = Win10 NPVR Server
.124 = LibreELEC (Kodi 16.1) on a Raspberry Pi 2

I restarted both, started a recording in NPVR and then cancelled it after 5 seconds. I waited 10 minutes and checked the RPi and it didn't show up. I rebooted the RPi and it was there.

Thanks for the help.

  NextPVR, Transcoding and NEWA
Posted by: wayloncovil - 2016-09-23, 06:24 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I've got the latest version of NextPVR installed.
I wanted to see the guide so I pointed the browser on my Android phone on my home network to \\server:8866
The guide came right up. And after playing around with it for a few minutes, I found that I could actually watch live tv and recorded shows on my phone. I didn't have to do any configuration to be able to watch shows on my phone on my home network. It just worked.Needless to say, I was very impressed and pleasantly surprised.
So something is Transcoding the stream, correct?
From what I've read, NEWA is hosted on port 8866 and it will transcode to devices if the user has VLC (which I do) installed on their server.
But I also seemed to see that sub has transcoding built in to NextPVR.
I'd like a bit more information about the architecture because I want to understand it better.
NEWA is a bolt on to NextPVR that's now included with NextPVR by default, correct?
Is there any other web based TV Guide service that is installed by default with NextPVR or is NEWA the one and only?
Are there in fact two ways to transcode with NextPVR or just one?
Here's where I'm going with this...
It seems like someone could easily have a Roku channel that would present the NEWA data to the user. Or an Android app. Or is there something special about the player that NEWA was using to present the actual video?
If NextPVR is doing transcoding now, for someone who has simple placeshifting needs, I'm not seeing a reason that they would need Kodi, Plex or something like it.
Any thoughts along these lines would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
- Waylon

XMLTV and NPVR, how to get episode numbers in EPG?
Posted by: leChat - 2016-09-23, 03:18 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (24)

Hello,

I am trying to get episode numbers in the filenames when I record my shows but I can't figure out how to do this. Is there a way for NPVR to pick it up from the XML file? I looked and there is an "episode number tag".

Related question, can I have it so NPVR does not add the time as a suffix at the end of a recording file name (e.g., The Simpsons 20160611-1200-1300.ts)?

Finally, can't get NPVR to show the EPG between 10PM and 12AM. It is just blank in the NPVR modern browser.

Thanks for the help!

How does device priority work in nextpvr???
Posted by: iTzturrtlex - 2016-09-23, 01:16 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

So if you have multiple sources/devices for the same channels how does nextpvr decide which device to get the channel from?

I want to change the priority of my devices so that one of my devices is preferred.

What does the priority in the devices tab do?

What does reverse priority for live tv tick box do?

I changed the priority in the devices tab to put the preferred device to the top but nextpvr still plays it from the other device, I can see this in status in the tray icon.

Thanks for all your work on the project its amazing btw.
