The first devices I added were the HDHomeRun tuners (1 box). got it working, but then I added a Hauppauge HVR2250 card and got it working, but I noticed that it put it at the first device listed, with the HDHomeRun below. I used the priority button to move the Hauppauge down in the list because I knew from Mythtv testing that the HDHomeRun had better signal sensitivity.
So now my list starts with the HDHomeRun and then has the Hauppauge below. So can I assume NextPVR will use my HDHomeRun before it uses the Hauppauge??
Second question is about displaying the signal strength of a particular tuner while on a channel. Can it be done in NextPVR?
Can I display which tuner is being use for which recording or livetv?
Just upgraded to Windows 10, missing Media Center with my TV Tuner card (ATI 650 PCI) so I am testing NextPVR.
- Installed drivers for TV Tuner (ATI Unified)
- Installed NextPVR
- NextPVR recognized TV Tuner, scanned ATSC (OTA stations) and found them.
- Installed Zap2XML and wrote little .bat file for NextPVR to get EPG udpates - worked fine.
- No live TV due to lack of MPEG2 decoder.
I have Cyberlink Powerdirector 11, and thought their decoders could be used (clm2vdec.dll). However, NextPVR does not "see" them on my system, nor do the little "3-dot" browse buttons in NextPVR Settings -> Decoders work for actually selecting anything. I even tried copying the clm2vdec.dll file to NextPVR's directory, but that didn't work.
So, how can I get NextPVR to recognize Cyberlink's MPEG2 decoders? Will this decoder work with NextPVR?
Thank you for the NextPVR software and the friendly community.
I have an issue where I try and record a TV show only for the recording to record either the prior last few minutes of the previous show or perhaps the first 10 minutes of target show and then stop. The recording apparently continues until the end, but the file that is produced (only includes the first few minutes). I find this issues arise about 1 in 3 times but I am unsure as to the cause or how to fix the issue. If anyone could assist, thank you.

I've been a user of NPVR for a long time, but the server where I had it running "went fallow" sometime back.
So, I did a complete uninstall of the old version and put a new install on it tonight.
Basically, I am wanting to record ATSC (using the now ancient HVR-1600).
I can watch LIVE TV just fine, but after setting up the Device and Channels...and mapping the XMLTV file assignments (as I have always done in the past), I do an "Update EPG".
Then, back to the main screen, click on TV Guide and..."(no show description)" for everything..all channels...all times.
I'm currently running an NPVR install which is about 2 years old, and I would like to upgrade. However, I have a bit of a legacy setup, and was wondering if this will break anything and I'm heading on a road for trouble?
My current setup is using a USB UIRT to change channels, a USB PVR2 for composite recording and 2 MediaMVPs
Hello. First Time user here. Thanks for creating this helpful product. Since WMC went belly-up(Thanks MS) Ive been searching for a decent replacement, and this works really well! My reason for posting today is, I'd like to see beyond the next 24 hours in my program guide, but am unsure how/if this is possible. I have signed up and am using Schedules Direct. My understanding of Schedules Direct is they have the data for at least 7 days out. However my program guide only goes about 20-24 hours. Is there something I can do to extend the guide. Thanks for any help.
I'm running NextPVR 3.6.6 and Kodi 15.1. I recently had an issue where one channel wouldn't play back and I had to completely uninstall and reinstall NextPVR. Before that the guide in Kodi showed an * on programs that were not new, this data was created by using the -b option with mc2xml. The script for the guide data hasn't changed but I can no longer get Kodi to show the * on repeat episodes of programs. I've checked everything I can think of. Anyone have any ideas? NextPVR knows the shows are repeats because it won't record them if I have it set to only record new episodes.
I used to run Windows MCE on Windows 7 with 2 Avermedia capture cards. The A188B card doesn't even register on Windows 10. It's now under the hidden devices and is grayed out. Says to reconnect to the computer. I've tried it in 2 different slots, so I'm guessing it's a driver problem going to Win 10.
So 2 questions, can I get this card to work in Win 10 and if I do, will it work in NextPVR?
