If I display images in an icon list an unexpected large amount of memory is being consumed.
For example, I created a test plugin which shows the same image in 100 items, each one loaded by a separate System.Drawing.Image.FromFile(). The image is a jpeg only 224 KB big, but NPVR consumes over 500 MB of memory displaying them in a list. Any ideas what is causing this? Does scaling the image for display consume a lot of memory?
I can, of course, use IGetImageCallback but reloading the images each time causes delayed scrolling/paging.
I am currently running WIN7 with the Hauppauge DCR-2650 DVR cable card box. This runs great under Windows Media Center. I would like to upgrade my system to Windows 10, but Windows Media Center will not be included in WIN 10. Can I use NextPVR with the DCR-2650? I installed the sotware last night, but was not able to get it to view any of the TV channels. Is there a way to scan the channels?
I have been using NextPVR for about 2 years now and have had great results. I use an Avermedia A188 dual tuner card and have not had any recent significant changes to the computer or software running it (that I'm aware of). Running Windows 10 also. Suddenly around October 15th I noticed that my scheduled recordings were not being recorded. I also noticed that when I try to watch Live TV in NextPVR, it gives me the "Unable to find available capture device" message.
Using the Avermedia MediaCenter software, I am able to watch live TV just fine, so I'm pretty sure it is not a problem with the tuner card or drivers, etc. In the NextPVR settings>Devices, the tuner card is shown as present and as enabled, so it is being detected.
I just tried scheduling a manual recording, and that worked flawlessly, even though I cannot view live TV or have my recurring program recordings work.
I'm trying to set up NMT on another computer and the NMTInstall seems to have completed successfully, but when I run NMTChecker it gives me this. What have I missed? What runtime?
I install Nextpvr I add my devices it only finds 2 of them. I have the two Hauppauge 1600 cards scan for channels for Over the air hd. it finds them no problem. I go to live tv it says no temp buffering file created so no live TV. WTF, the program didn't make the buffer folder? I chose a folder to store recordings so why isn't it using that?
Why didn't it find my third hauppauge PVR-150 card? The fact this doesn't even have a setup button in the main panel seems rather crude. Plus after installed it it said there was a newer version. BUT when I try to install said new version it fails. I believe because Iam supposed to stop the NPVR SERVICE what ever the heck that means . I search the forums here and find people saying they cant get there Service to start BUT nothing on how to STOP said Service. WTF. I have been using Sage TV but wanted to try something else. this software needs MUCH improvement. Its like iam supposed to be a programmer to get it to work. Plus I saw nothing about getting my usbUirt and remote to work with this software. That should be part of the main setup. I realize its a free software so I guess I cant expect much. Oh well it was worth a look.
My show runs in the same time slot and channel 7 days a week.
What is the best way to record this show only on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday? Do I need to schedule 4 weekly recordings, one for each day or is there a better way?
I realize that there is <Days>...</Days> keyword but what's the best way to change the keywords contents? Can a Rule be invoked? SQL? XML edit?
Unless I have missed it the only way to change the time when setting up a manual recording is to bump the arrow keys. Keyboard here does nothing. So, when setting up a recording that is, say, 10 hours in the future, it would be nice if the end time would also move as you set the start time. Then there would only be a small amount of arrow poking to get the stop time set.
