I'm a long time SageTV guy, just built my first NextPVR setup (Hauppauge Colossus 2 and USB-UIRT, plus IR Server Suite), and everything seems to be setup right except I cannot get the IRBlaster function to work to change channels inside NextPVR. If I go to the command prompt and enter the "IRblaster -channel 600" to change the channel to 600, it works. But inside the program setup, no good.
I've changed the Device, Channel Changer config to Changer: "Executable" and selected the Executable: "C:\Program Files (x86)\IR Server Suite\IRBlast.exe" and the Arguments: "-channel {channel} -delay 500 -host localhost" - but no soap.
My wife has a habit of doing this, turns on npvr just before the the top of the hour or before hour:30, brings up the guide, decides what she wants to watch, by this time the time advances such that the most left part of guide is no longer current, press play to watch the channel she wants to see, but npvr does nothing because she selected a show that is now in the past.
Is there a way, when the guide is being displayed, to auto advance the guide's time when the hour or half hour advances?
I have all my channels from Sydney Australia scanned and working and configured to use DVB/ATSC EPG in the Channels Settings. I have an EPG Update Hour set in the Misc2 tab and the Auto Update EPG boxed ticked also. However my EPG will not update at this hour or any hour for that matter.
The EPG will update just fine if I manually do it by pushing the Update EPG button on the Channels tab. Currently I am having to remember to manually update the EPG everyday to record my favourite shows.
The install is just a default full install and I havenât changed anything in the Program or Data Directories although I have noticed there is no UpdateEPG.bat file in the data directory.
I am open to using XMLTV if anyone can point me in the right direction or let me know how to configure this for Sydney, Australia.
I am running 64 bit Windows 10 after upgrading from Windows 7 hence it uninstalling Windows Media Centre.

For the first time last night I had an opportunity to test the new recording logic that will record a show at a later time if it conflicts with something else. In my case this was S02E02 of the Librarians getting bumped to a later time because it conflicted with The Walking Dead. I had noticed earlier in the week that there were multiple entries for the second episode of The Librarians in the upcoming log, but I decided not to do anything about it and see what happened. Two things happened:
1- I got 10 files of that episode of the Librarians all created at the same time.
2- those 10 files were not in the location specified by the series recording. They were instead in the default directory (which I don't use).
The recording itself looks fine. I moved one copy to the correct location and fixed my Kodi library and now everything is fine. I guess next time I see this about to happen I'll go delete all the duplicate upcoming recordings and see if that helps. I've attached my NRecord.Log for the recording.

I would like to add my own search tools to the epg display, on the same line as the imdb icon. This will help me search for local content's descriptions on local provider. Ideally, there should be some user setup to allow this as opposed to hard coding it in the c# code.
This issue started just a couple of day's ago. I switched from OpenElec to OSMC to resolve a recording issue that I was having. OSMC was already Kodi 15.x, where as Openelec is not.
At first all seemed to work as I was hoping, but after a day or so, a single channel stopped streaming. In the upper right corner of my screen I would get a buffering 0% icon, but nothing ever started playing. I initially started a thread on the osmc forum thinking that it was an issue with osmc. After a day or two, more channels started buffering at 0%. Thinking that it might be a Kodi 15.1 issue, I decided to switch back to OE, kodi 14.2. The issue followed to Openelec, Kodi 14.2. I am now having the exact same issue with OpenElec 5.0.0, Kodi 14.2.
The common element between the two different media clients is the NextPVR server. I am using the latest NextPVR verson, v3.5.7.
I cleaned out the logs on both the server and client, put the pi in debug mode and selected my channel. I uploaded koki.log and NRecord.log to the forum.
The channel that I was trying to view is WOWTDT, 1008 at about 17:28.
The good thing about this; I won't miss Royal's putting away the Mets tonight. That channel is uneffected.
I got a new cable card today which means my DVR is having issues. I finally got the channels configured without any channel mapping etc. and now the EPG seems to be hanging forever deleting old EPG data.
It ends up hanging after a long while and windows kills the process. Any help would be appreciated.
Or the other thing is it finished and the guide says to devices were set up.
My Nextpvr was working fine for almost a year and now I am losing tuner connection fairly regularly. I can manually restart recording service and it works for a while.
I have this all set up but sometimes when I click on any channel and Watch I get the message: "Unable to communicate with recording service". Am I losing the connection to my tuner somehow? I have a Hauppauge 1600 and it all set up fine, but I am having this problem. I tried the tuner just now with WMP and it will connect to tv channels fine.
Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere (I did search a bit)
I have imported all my dvds on to a drive and I am looking for something to search the web for the metadata description cover art etc. Hopefully in a format that npvr reads. Does such a utility exist?
